Dr. Daniel R. Freson

Absolutely do not recommend. I already had made the decision not to return after an issue with receiving the wrong contacts last year, but recently became aware of a condition that may be the cause of my chronic migraines. I called Dr. Freson to see if he had ever tested me for this condition during my previous annual appointments with him, and he had not, only because I did not have one of the many symptoms associated (despite having others, and notifying him every visit about the migraines). He said he was familiar with the condition and could test for it, and I was hesitant, but was told by the receptionist they could get me in the next day (today) at 2pm. Because of my excitement for potentially finally having answers and the timeliness of the offered appointment, I took it. I blocked an hour and a half to be away from work and arrived at the scheduled time and waited until 2:30pm, when I asked if they knew how much later the doctor might be. The receptionist responded that she didn't know as they were only 'squeezing' me in, which is not at all what I had been told on the phone. If I had been told I could come at 2 to wait and see, I would have declined as my work schedule unfortunately doesn't allow for me to spend all afternoon in the reception area just hoping for an appointment. After 45 minutes I ended up leaving. If you enjoy being gaslit by receptionists and having symptoms of larger issues ignored, this is the place for you. Otherwise, I would recommend looking elsewhere. UPDATE: Went to a new eye Dr. on Thursday who confirmed the suspected issue. The prescription that Dr. Freson had given me has likely been making my headaches worse. Again, do not recommend.

I came here for a routine eye exam and to order contacts. My appointment was at 8:00am, and the receptionists didn't get in until 8:15am with absolutely no apology or recognition of their absence. They were rude and immediately made me feel uncomfortable. The office is CLUTTERED with stuff all over the floor and the equipment used was extremely dated, again, making me feel uncomfortable and unassured of the quality of care I was receiving. I have to say, Dr. Freson was at least nice. After my exam, I received contacts to try. After about a week, I called to order the contacts. The receptionist asked ME for MY OWN prescription. I was extremely confused, and once AGAIN I was put off and unassured that I was investing in quality care. The receptionist never asked me if I was receiving a 6 month order or a 1 year order of contacts, so I had no idea what I was expecting. It took 8 WEEKS to receive my contacts after calling numerous times to ask for an update on the status of my order, and every time I was met with a comment about them being on "back order." I understand there are items that are out of their control, but there was no action taken to resolve the issue. I literally need contacts to see. When I received my contacts, the prescription was wrong. I called, and was, once again, met with rudeness, which was the last straw for me. I then had to go back into the office to pick up a physical copy of my prescription to order contacts elsewhere. Don't waste your time, money, or patience with this practice. It is extremely unfortunate that this practice is so poorly managed in every way shape and form. Literally, I was met with no quality of care. Dr. Freson was so great and thorough. The receptionist and the other woman who work there are SO RUDE. It wasn’t just a bad day either, I’ve been in a few different times trying to get contacts and both females are completely miserable, my first time there, there was no greeting or conversation and I immediately felt uncomfortable. Judging by the other reviews it sounds like this is just how they are, really unhelpful and just mean really. I always call and just ask for Dr. Freson to call me back. The receptionis Maria Colon is a very rude person. I work in the Medicare industry every time we send patient's to see Dr. Daniels Miss Colon answers the phone and just a very unpleasant rude person.

Dr. Freson has been my eye doctor for almost 30 years. He and his staff have always been very friendly, polite, and professional. I wouldn't go anywhere else.

I’ve been going to Dr. Freson since 1996 but prior to that he was my father’s Ophthalmologist. I moved from Cleveland 4 years ago to different states and cities. Tried different ophthalmologist for those straight 4 years none got my contacts prescription correct. U get so tired of going back and forth for eye fittings that you begin to settle. Needless to say that the first thing I did when moving back was call his office for an eye apt! The staff working in his office couldn’t find my file, but even so on the first visit my contacts samples prescription was perfect! First time coming here the eye doctor was amazing i was in and out , older lady at the front desk was beyond rude if you don’t like your job find somewhere else to work ! Other then that great experience

They will give u the run around about buying ur contacts somewhere else w ur paid for script. Charge $15 more a box. Sell defective glasses that break and need replaced repeatedly. They have very long wait times and very poor customer service

Very thorough and accurate exam, and the best selection of glasses models so far, at a very reasonable price. The appointment took a bit longer than the usual as compared to other eye exam places, but it was totally worth it!

I waited a month and a half for my appointment, after reading positive Yelp reviews about Frason. I arrived approximately 15 minutes early. At the desk, I was treated offhandedly by the one receptionist with missing lower teeth. When I questioned the lengthy privacy paper, both receptionists seemed put out and bothered. I understand the need for certain information but in reading the privacy disclaimer (yes I read it) it mentions law enforcement possibly being privy to your medical information, I was like whoa! I am an RN and versed in HIPPA as well. I simply needed an eye exam and most likely new glasses, not a passport! I am a self-pay/CASH client. After about 3 minutes of considering their rudeness, and that I had decided I would not return after this appointment, I decided not to tolerate AND pay for such treatment. I asked for my paperwork, stated I was leaving due to their rudeness; actually thanked them - out of habit, and left. I never got to see (pun?) nor meet Frason in person. How unfortunate. Great Doctor, Took me in the same day

I really get great service when I vcome to this office, like someone said before there's prices fir for your insurance budget, my experience is very low cost of frames. Not only do you get nice frames, I had began to have headaches and dizziness, I had everything checked but my eyes, before learning of Dr. Freson, and I got my eye exam and discovered my glasses were to strong for my eyes and my headaches left, I trust his judgement as an optometrist!

I've had two appointments with Dr. Freson and he was consistently rude, patriarchal and shaming. If you ask questions, be prepared for a pompous and condescending response. For the sake of his patients, I hope that he retires soon!
