We saw Dr. Hirselj for the first time for my daughter’s persistent UTIs. We didn’t have to wait long, there were toys and games for children in the waiting room too. Dr. Hirselj was extremely friendly, honest, and explained causes and problems very well that would be easy for anyone to understand. He didn’t seem rushed with us at all but answered all our questions. Would definitely recommend.

Dr Hirselj was wonderful. He was warm and appropriate with my nervous 6yo. He answered our questions and helped my son understand what we were talking about. He was funny and very kind. The office was kid friendly and staff was also. 10/10

Dr. Hirselj is a wonderful doc, so caring and thoughtful. He takes time to put the patient at ease and has wonderful bedside manner. Seeing a specialist can be anxiety-producing for a kid, he makes it smooth and fear-free.

My son has seen Dr. Hirselj for several years and he has always received amazing care! Dr. Hirselj makes him feel comfortable and explains things in a way that we can all understand. We highly recommend Dr. Hirselj!

My son has had a lot of visits with Dr. Hirselj over the last 7 years and we have always received fantastic care. We both feel so comfortable during the visits and leave feeling confident in the care and education we received.

I needed to take my son in for a visit. The service was wonderful. We were seen quickly. Dr. Hirselji made my son feel very comfortable and helped explain his condition so he understood what was experiencing. We both left feeling comfortable with the diagnosis. Highly recommended.

The absolute BEST doctor I've ever met. I wish he could be mine! lol He is so thorough and great at communicating exactly what is happening and what our plan of action is. He has the absolute best bed side manner of any health care worker I've experienced. So grateful my son is under his care.

There are not enough stars to reflect how happy I am to have found Dr. Hirselj. My kiddo was referred to a different Portland pediatric urologist by his primary care (that office happens to be highly rated). Through that office we were advised to undergo a pretty extreme temporary treatment (that didn't really work) and scheduled for followup surgery. Due to a change of insurance, I ended up needing to switch to Dr. Hirselj before surgery. He questioned our previous treatment and whether we needed surgery at all. He prescribed a cream to try before talking about surgery, and the problem was solved. I am not joking. Not only did he do a great job of putting my (understandably) freaked out kiddo at ease, he obviously knows his stuff and spared us a totally unnecessary surgery. Dr Hirselj and his entire team are wonderful and I am sad that my son is aging out of their care. The office staff are always kind, friendly, professional and very helpful! They tell you the upfront cost of your copay and costs for procedures. They have gone out of their way to schedule tests for my son when things did not get scheduled in time for his appointment. My son likes Dr Hirselj and his sense of humor. He is easy to talk to especially when urological issues can be embarrassing for teens. He is thorough with his explanations, and patient with our questions -he doesn’t rush or hurry through your appointment . I highly recommend Dr Hirselj and his team!

Dr. Hirselj was amazing with my son who needed an orchiopexy. Dr. Hirselj explained the whole process to me, made me feel very comfortable with everything, and was patient with my questions. He did an excellent job with the surgery and my son healed quicker than expected. The office operates very smoothly. Everyone is very professional and the environment is kept clean and neat. I would definitely recommend Dr. Hirselj and staff to anyone needing a pediatric urologist.

Was referred by our sons primary care doctor to Dr Hirselj. The clinic reached out to us to make the appointment, the appt was made quickly. I was able to fill out paperwork prior to arriving, so no need when I arrived at the office to do anything - love this. Sometimes you do it online, and then places still make you fill out paperwork. We got in immediately, did not wait at all. I think we were scheduled as the first patient of the day? Dr came in, excellent bedside manner. Was great with our toddler. Asked questions, let me speak, actually listened, and then explained what he thought was happening, even drew a picture. What an amazing experience we had with Dr. Hirselj and his side kick Rachel!!! They made us feel safe and comfortable. It’s never easy to take your child in for surgery but he was in good hands which helped ease the way. They show true compassion and really want to be apart of the families life and experience. It was a very positive experience! Rachel worked closely with working out times that fit for our schedule. The medical staff and the doctor where amazing. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because finding the Vancouver office was very difficult. There was not indications of the outside of the building that NW Urology was in the office, the front desk staff was not helpful initially and there was no information given prior to the appointment about the location of the office inside of another medical office. We are lucky to have a pediatric urologist like Dr. Hiselj in Portland. He is a wonderful doctor, and a really nice and kind guy too!

Check in time was easy, I was asked to give my insurance card. All the ladies upfront were very friendly to my baby and kept entertaining him. Did not wait to long before seeing Dr Hersilj. He listens, he answered all questions and concerns. Overall, good experience.

Dr. Hirselj did a hernia repair on my 5 year old. He was so nice at our office visit. He explained everything very clearly and made us both feel comfortable. Surgery went really well, and our follow up was also great. He was very positive and caring.

I met with Dr. Hirselj via a virtual visit regarding my daughter. There was an ease to the conversation, I felt heard and my questions were answered. Most of all, I left the visit feeling confident that my daughter was being taken care of.

Dr. Hirselj refuses to provide care to trans children because they are trans. He presents a rational that they might need special urological care because they are trans which is patently ridiculous, particularly if the referral is coming from their primary care doctor. Any one allied with LGBTQ+ community should boycott this office.

The staff was incredibly friendly and made me feel very comfortable in a situation where I was nervous about my growing baby and his kidneys.

I took my infant son in, and our visit was quick and productive. The staff is professional, and the atmosphere is comfortable.

Dr. Hersijl is incredible. He told us from the beginning he would be with us through the entire journey and he has done just that. He is very warm. So knowledgeable and ensures we completely understand what is happening. When you are told your 5 month old needs kidney surgery it is earth shattering. But honestly, I feel very calm and confident.
