It never should have taken 50 minutes for you to tell me my insurance was not active especially since I emailed you a picture of my insurance card a day prior to the appointment. Your office did call my insurance carrier as stated in a follow up email. I called my insurance company while I was in your office and gave you the member ID number and registration number as you requested. Your office stated you now had all the information to treat me. After one hour and 20 minutes of waiting your dentist says he will not be able to treat me because I don't have the new insurance card being mailed to me. You have to be kidding me! He must be challenged. We both know you had all the info needed and could have made a copy of my new insurance card during my next visit. Furthermore, Dr. Daniel Kaplan did not even bother to introduce himself after I was there for an hour and a half. Dr. Daniel Kaplan had all the information he needed to treat me and yet did not have the courtesy to introduce himself or take a peak at the tooth in question. I am a physician for over 30 years, I have never been subjected to such rude behavior. There is a professional courtesy in the medical world, your dentist does not seem to understand what it means to be professional. I would never come back to such a rude unprofessional "dentist". You had my dental information before I came to the office as I emailed you the insurance the day before my appointment. I called them while in your office and had no trouble getting through and getting all the information needed. Your office has proven to be inept and Dr. Kaplan prove himself to be a horrible person. I am very disappointed that you refused to see me after I confirmed the appointment several times, had the necessary letter from the orthopedist, and waited over 2 hours. Very unprofessional behavior from you and your secretary. You accepted two patients before me, one of them was clearly your friend that arrived after me and got seen before me because of her relationship with you. Kindly be warned that I will be reporting this terrible experience to the department of health and to the doctors association and give you the reviews you deserve online. They should be ashamed of how they handle this establishment. I have never felt more disrespected and such disregard for their patients. Sharon the office manager is the rudest most unprofessional person I have ever met. She will cut you off, divulge all your information out loud in the waiting room and won’t schedule an appointment until you pay in full for anything. She makes up prices which are so far fetched that they cost more with insurance then paying out of pocket somewhere else which I chose to do. I honestly have no idea how they have any clientele at all. Dr Rosen is incompetent and Dr Kaplan was so abrupt and would not explain anything to me for a procedure I needed. He actually said why you don’t believe me? I am shocked at how unprofessional everyone is in the practice. I was in so much pain and they completely did not care at all. They didn’t return my calls or respond to my emails after I was already approved for the surgery. The only thing they care about is money. Worst dentist experience I have ever had and I didn’t even make it to the appointment. I showed up promptly for my appointment at 2:15 only to learn that the dentist was running an hour and a half late. I live close by so I went home with the intention of calling before coming back to make sure they could see me when they said. As I was filling out the paperwork I realized one of the forms the receptionist had given me was a waiver that I had approved to pay all costs out of pocket instead of through insurance. This was before any treatment had been done, so I was waiving my right to insurance before the appointment even began. When I called back I asked if they could take me at the new time they had said (1.5 hours later) they said it would be another 45 minutes. The worst customer service I have ever experienced. I called and was placed on hold for at least 30min. I thought it wasn't a big deal at first, maybe mistake cause they might be busy. I call again and a woman pick up and says "hold" so I do as she says and wait for about 10min and she then hung up the phone. I call back again, this time she answers and start taking my Information. SCAM ARTIST! Where do I even begin?! I wish I had read some of the reviews before I went here. Rude and unhelpful office assistant. Tried to charge me for procedures I didn't have, my insurance called me with some concerns to find out they billed them for things I had already paid for. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE - they cancelled my appointment 30 minutes before my appointment time. To my surprise, I asked to speak to the dentist, willing to wait for him to be free, since I have a gum infection and he's a specialist. All I needed was for him to evaluate my case and tell my dentist how to go on but the secretary refused to let me speak to him. The secretary kicked me out of the office, threatened me and called the cops on me, saying i was "foreign" "crazy" because I was crying. I was completely humiliated and "othered" by these people (if you can call them people) and they denied my health after I had an appointment scheduled. Their treatment was extremely inhumane, I have never been treated like this. I had been in need of a periodontist for weeks and when I find one and have an appointment they reject me and call the cops on me... Neglecting my health needs. My insurance gave me their number and referred me to them, and an oral surgeon and dentist referred me to the periodontist. I am disgusted, angry, and sad. That secretary needs to be FIRED. During this pandemic we had scheduled an appointment with Dr. Kaplan. We had expected that appointments would be scheduled to keep within the necessary pandemic guidelines. Our temps were taken when we arrived and there was no one else in the small waiting room. As we filled out forms more patients arrived. A man (masked) and a woman (masked) with her son (unmasked) were sitting in the waiting room. Other patients came and were directed to another part of the office. The office manager had temporarily lost my driver's license. While we were waiting for them to find it, (which they did) my husband and I decided to leave. There was no way to safely distance. I felt seriously discriminate at this practice. I went for cleaning, no big deal Unfortunately just a week after the cleaning a small piece of my front tooth fell out. the doctor said i need a crown, not a filling but a major & most expensive repair. the insurer said the X rays didn’t showed a serious damage to the tooth, that justifies a crown. The receptionist Sharon, said Dr. Kaplan is only going to do the crown because that's what it is needed. An incredibly rude, dismissive, and ineffective front office staff. My first visit was painful enough, involving phone calls with my insurance provider to verify information that should have been verified prior to my visit. In fact, I had to witness two staff members argue nastily with each other over my appointment, which I think is very unprofessional. This second time around was the worst incident. This office is a complete scam. When called to ask if they take my insurance they said yes and took my info. Told me I would need x-rays and to send them if I had them. Also consult was gonna be free. I sent the x-rays to be told a day before those were not good. So they told me I would need to pay for them. When I finally showed up, they told me my appointment was not at the time I wrote down so I had to wait 45 minutes. When I asked them why they can't just charge x rays on my insurance they said my insurance only allows it a few times a year. But then I was like how would you know how many times I had it. Then the lady was like it allows it every 4 years. Again, how would you know if you never called them. Basically they refused to call them and I paid out of my pocket. So I had a chance to listen to other patients deal with this lady at the front and I was already alarmed. They gave me some paperwork to sign and half of it was smudged and you couldn't read it. When I finished with my consultation I asked for itemized receipt and she was like oh I can't give it to you because it will show things they will claim from insurance. But you said the consult was free and I paid for x-rays. And she goes let me teach you something. If somebody tells you something is free, that doesn't mean it is free. Nothing in life is free. I refused to leave until I got the receipt and the lady kept refusing and threatened me to leave. At that point I threatened to call the police if she didn't give me the receipt. Then she went behind to talk to the doctor and I heard her apologizing to him saying she HAS to print me the receipt. When she finally printed it showed the consult AND x-rays were being charged to insurance even though I paid for it. I left because there was nothing to be discussed with them anymore. The next day my insurance called me and they told me they claimed the consult(that was supposed to be free) and x-rays that I paid for. I filed a complaint and got my money back. I would just advise people who for some reason do decide to go there to check with their insurance what exactly they filed because I also had other people tell me they would claim wrong codes they know the insurance wouldn't cover so you would pay out of your pocket. As an office manager assistant at a doctors office, I’m appalled at how horrible the front desk service is. I saw the reviews for the office, but I thought that maybe people were just exaggerating... I was completely wrong. I made an appointment for a Thursday and was told that I needed to add their office to my insurance. I called my insurance to be told that that was not needed and so I called the office back to let them know. I don’t know how Sharon is the office manager, but she is so rude. She told me at first my insurance requires it and once I told her I spoke to my insurance company, she then proceeds to tell me that it’s the office policy. She then again lies to tell me I have another office as my dentist which is impossible because I have never used my insurance up until now. She then asks me in a condescending tone if I want to pay out of pocket because that’s what’s going to happen if I don’t add them to my insurance. I also gave them all of my information including my member ID, but she stated that she needed it again and to just “take it out of my wallet.” On top of that, they also messed up my appointment date. They scheduled me for today when I wrote it down in my agenda for tomorrow and even if, let’s say the appointment was today, I never got a confirmation call or email like most doctors offices do.I immediately cancelled my appointment and will never call that office again. 100% positive!! Dr Kaplan and Sharon and the hygienist/ assistant lady whose name I haven’t got are honestly a pleasure - they couldn’t be nicer, or more helpful. I came here after very stressful dentist visits elsewhere and the whole experience in Dr Kaplan’s office has been wonderful. I’m in the middle of a series of procedures, (Root scaling, planing, gum grafts) which I dreaded but they have been so much easier and less stressful than I feared. Dr Kaplan takes care not to cause any unnecessary pain, Sharon is extremely friendly and understanding and she gets things done! I totally recommend coming here. 100% positive!! Dr. Kaplan is amazing but the drug queen in the front is terrible. She is rude, talking loud and try to take money from the patients instead from the insurance.
