Dr. DeLaroche is an excellent doctor. However, the ladies at the front desk are extremely unprofessional, condescending and incompetent. One with a ponytail in particular was very loud, aggressive and rude. She should not have a position where she interacts with patients. Be prepared to be demeaned by the front desk staff if you’re not willing to wait a couple of hours to see a provider. They are rude and condescending. These are people who give you an appointment and try to scold you when you point it out

I got in March for my ,glasses, have two separate glasses, I got back in June 3 for make bifocal ,I tell them 4 time what I want, they make me see the doctor am charge me 200 for visit ,dest people there nasty,I tell them send to the insurance they tell me you send.there no professional.

I didn't get to see the Doctor, but be prepared for a very unfriendly and arrogant staff. Doctor LaRoche, if you read this, it is time to do some staff changes. Its already hard enough having eyes problems on top I had to deal with a very unhelpful and unprofessional staff 7/15/2020. This happened at Dr. Laroche Jamaica's office at 215-43 Jamaica Avenue. Episode: after booking an appointment, waiting 3 weeks to see the doctor, the day given for my appointment "was not entered into the system" (I advice you to get the name of the person booking your appointment, if you book one). On the day of the appointment, I called ahead to confirm address and appointment, that's when I was giving the "appointment not entered in the system"story or excuse. So I booked another one, now for 4 weeks after the original one. I went on my day. About 2 or 3 hours later, I received a call from Dr. Laroche's office telling me that if I want to see the doctor I could just walk in because it seemed that there were not too many people keeping their appointments on that day. So I jumped at the opportunity and showed up at the office, there a young man greet me. He asked for my insurance card and ID and asked me if I had an appointment. I explained to him the situation that happened with the appointment and gave him my driver's license. I also explained to him that I left my insurance card at my house since my first appointment was cancelled or never entered in the system. He told me that I have to wait for a (apparently) West Indian or Caribbean lady that was on the phone talking while I was talking to the young man. I waited about 10 min for this lady to get off the phone when she hang up the phone she just looked at me (no hello, not good morning) and in a very disrespectful manner (or very arrogant attitude) said "we can't accept you without the insurance card". I asked her if she can call my insurance to identify me, I was already sure of the negative answer given her attitude and demeanor. A negative answer was given. I called my insurance to see if there was something I could do about the insurance card situation, they told me they could email me a digital one so I could show her the card on my phone. I, again, go to the lady and again a negative answer and arrogant attitude was given. She said " if you can't provide the physical card you won't see the doctor no matter what your insurance said".(the office was empty and it was about 10 a.m.) After that answer I left Dr. Laroche's Jamaica office and, of course, booked myself an appointment at another ophthalmologist, and I am glad I did????????. Service, attention and professionalism was at its best at the other ophthalmologist office. Jan 20th, 2021 First of all, in my original review, I did not reveal the race of the young man who I first encountered in your office. He was a African American or West Indian descent of about 20 to 25 years old and apparently he was in training for what I could sense at that time. If I was not in your office, how would I know that? Secondly, Dr. Laroche, you were not in your Jamaica Avenue office on July 15th, 2020, between 10 A.M. and 12 P.M. the day of experience. I was told I would be seeing another ophthalmologist and not you because you were not at that office. How would I know that if I was not at your office? Finally, I am a grown a** man and not a kid that will start writing a bad review because I hit my little toe on your waiting room furniture! I stand by my review because that was the treatment I received from your staff. I definitely will not take down the review of my experience in your office. So it seems, I will be welcoming the police or your attorneys. (I am sure the case will go all the way up to the USSC) To conclude, thank you very much for your reply to my review; it actually showed me about where the arrogance of your office’s staff comes from. It seems to me that booking my appointment at another ophthalmologist office was a blessing in disguised. In addition to early cataract surgery and trabecular bypass surgery to prevent and help stop glaucoma we offer multi focal lenses to reduce dependency on glasses. We also now offer Durysta to reduce the need for eye drops in glaucoma patients. Pedro Pena was also never a prospective patient in our office and we have no record of him. Unfortunately he continues to provide false reviews. Dr. Laroche is one of the best Ophthalmologist in New York State. I have been seeing Dr. Daniel Laroche for 10 years. It all started when I was referred to him during a routine eye check with an optician in 2007. The optician referred me to Dr. Laroche when she realized my eye pressure was a bit higher than normal. I was monitored for two years till 2010 when my pressure shot up. My dad lost his eye sight late in his life due to glaucoma. So I took it pretty serious. Dr. Laroche performed various test on me and put me on eye drops. I have visited the office every 3 months since. It has been over 8 years since I was diagnosed with open angle glaucoma, however, my vision is still 20/20 due to the care I receive from Dr. Laroche’s office. I recently had a minor surgery and recovered fully within 2 weeks. If you have a history of glaucoma in your family, this is the number one doctor in New York to visit. The wait time may be a bit longer but that is testament to the fact that no patient is rushed. Try going during off peak hours between 12pm to 4:30pm. Doctor Daniel laroche and his staffs are second to none they are very thorough and professional.I will recomend then to anyone. I am planning on moving out of New York in a few and I will make my duty to fly to New York to see him Fir all my eye treatments.

Dr. Laroche is a very knowledgeable glaucoma specialist and skilled surgeon who has a unique approach to glaucoma that you can't find anywhere else. The staff at the office are also very polite and helpful. Would recommend this place to anyone!

Dr. Laroche and his staff are excellent. They are very professional and Dr. Laroche is an excellent surgeon. He performed excellent cataract and glaucoma surgery on my grandmother and has educated and screened my family for glaucoma. I am able to get appointments in a flexible manner. The office is often busy but the flow is smooth. If using insurance make sure you have the right card and it’s active. It not not they have excellent cash prices when I brought my cousin from out of town who did not have insurance. Very rude. I could not find parking and had to walk in the near and was close to 15 mins late for my appointment. Other people waiting and I was told a complete exam could not be preformed as they had to leave early. The lady at the front desk was very curt and do not recommend this doctor. Lead from the top. Had to wait nearly 2 weeks for an appointment. They just wanted to use this as an excuse to drag you back again for another appointment so they could charge you. I would not trust this doctor with my eyes and if I treated my customers like this I would not have a business. Dreadful.

I have going to Dr. Laroche for than five ears. I had surgery on my left eye for Cataract and scheduled to have the right eye done.

Been coming here for about 5 years now and never really had a problem with doctors or staff. Would recommend to family and friends.

Dr. Laroche is very knowledgeable and helpful with my dad. My dad feel welcome every time he come for a visit. My dad this office because everybody try their best to speak Creole because he doesn't speak English.
