I wish I had listened to his reviews. It’s appalling how the staff treat you and the wait time is disrespectful to any human. Don’t bother going, you will be disappointed

Found him to be too impersonal and more importantly, he left out an important test that is part of what he should have done and it resulted, luckily, in another doctor rushing me to an OR and avoid a possible catastrophic result. Worst part is I kept telling him that what I was experiencing was scary and at times he kept his back turned (writing his notes) while he answered me . If it were up to me......

Unfortunately, I had a really bad experience with Dr Shapiro. First time he saw me, he got delayed, it was late and he saw me in a rush. He gave a prescription that was not right, so when I got my glasses, I couldn’t see from close distance. I knew something was wrong, so I called and asked if I would be re-billed for my new visit and I was informed I should NOT be charged for a re-check, but I was!! Not only he invoiced my insurance, but he also invoiced me for the difference. I called many times. Different people took my call. In 3 occasions I was informed someone called Tanya would call me back but nothing happened. Finally, I decided to pay my bill. In addition to that, when I went for the re-check many different people saw me and they didn’t agree on the results. For instance, Dr Shapiro’s assistant saw me first, and when the doctor saw me after that he said what his assistant gave me was not correct…. Then two women saw me and gave me a 3rd result for the prescription. In summary, I had a really bad experience not only with Dr Shapiro, who seems to be pretty arrogant, but also with the low level of customer service. It was terrible. Unfortunately, I had a really bad experience with Dr Shapiro. First time he saw me, he got delayed, it was late and he saw me in a rush. He gave a prescription that was not right, so when I got my glasses, I couldn’t see from close distance. He has the expertise and empathy, two qualities I value in my physicians. I have been in his eye care for more than 15 years!

Dr Shapiro is a very thorough doctor who takes the appropriate time to evaluate your eye care needs. This sometimes can add time to your appointment but it's worth the wait. I highly recommend him and his staff staff.

Dr. Shapiro is a caring, professional physician. He cares deeply for his patients. We are very fortunate to have him as our family's ophthalmologist.

Did not diagnose my astigmatism (had to go to a different ophthalmologist for my diagnosis) nor allowed me to have contacts with no medical reason (again... received contacts through a different ophthalmologist). His staff is friendly, but scheduling times are excessively long. The department secretary has to go through two devices and many computer mouse clicks to get paperwork done just for ONE person...

Not great

The staff is aweful. They are so rude, keep patents waiting for on average over an hour without sharing any reasons. Today, my daughter waited for over 1.5 hours until she left. Stay as far away as possible.
