Dr. Darrell Edward Baskin

Great physician who truly cares about your well being.

I will never use or refer a patient to him again. He scheduled me for a vitrectomy and laser treatment, but cancelled 3 days before saying he needed to have someone else perform a pre-operative examination. I had this done and had all of the exam findings sent to him. I was cleared for the surgery, which was to be done under local anesthesia. I was then scheduled, got to the outpatient surgery center, had pre-operative medications put into my eye and was ready to go. He walked in and admitted that he had not reviewed the exam findings until a few minutes prior and cancelled the surgery once again and sent me home. It is possible that he is a fine technician, but he clearly does not know how or has no interest in performing a pre-operative evaluation . He also does not do the required preparation before surgery. This is unacceptable and unprofessional behavior. As a referring physician myself I will not subject my retinal patients to this disrespectful treatment.

This was my first experience for treatment at this civilian facility. Dr Baskin has treated before years ago at the military hospital. The staff in this facility was great and professional. By the time my appt was completed I felt right at home and very pleased with my choice to move to this care center.

I saw him twice earlier this year after my regular ophthalmologist told me he thought I might have a torn retina (thankfully I didn’t), & really appreciated his wonderful chair-side manner: explained things thoroughly, & was very pleasant.

The staff is friendly and very helpful. Eddie Reyna assisted us with a matter that we needed help with. He was courteous and went beyond his normal duties to help us. Went to him for 20 months. He had to consult with other drs trying to get answers to my issue. Sent me to various specialists but never to the right one. Long waits. Not shown scans every time but insisted on doing them for insurance dollars. Stressed me

Dr. Baskin is an amazing professional and human being. I cam in stressed with a retina problem, and his demeanor and attitude immediately put me at ease. He took care of the issue with great skill. I totally recommend him.
