Dr. Aboulafia has been treating me for multiple myeloma for over 10 years now. He has always been always kind, patient, attentive and responsive to my needs. Several of the Yelp reviews seem to find fault with front desk staffing and appointment issues. Deservatively so! This is a group practice within Virginia Mason. But staffing issues should not reflect negatively on this fine practitioner's clinical skills.

It has been a blessing to have Dr. A as my oncologist while going through Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. He took my case while I was struggling to get care at a different medical facility and thank God he did. He is kind, humble, calm, confident, knowledgeable, and compassionate. He saved me from having to go through a harsher route of chemo, radiation, and IVF, which my previous oncologist was suggesting. He is constantly working to grow in his knowledge for cancer care and be there for his patients. Not only that, but the people at Virgina Mason have been proactive with scheduling and making sure I got care. Cherry is an absolute sweet heart and every person who has done my chemo. In a time where you don’t get to see a lot of people or go out, I actually look forward to my chemo appointments so I can see my Virgina Mason friends! Thank you everyone who has made this difficult time a little sweeter!

I met with Dr. Aboulafia about a blood disorder that I have and he was incredibly kind and informative. He has one of the best bedside manners I've ever encountered. I definitely recommend him.

So very thankful we were able to sign on with Dr. Aboulafia. He has all the requisites you would want as a personal physician. He is an excellent listener and communicator. He is very straightforward and knowledgeable when he answers all questions and concerns. He offers all the time you need - never rushes through your appointment. My husband and I feel very blessed.

He is one of the best Doctors I've ever had. He is so invested and truly dedicated to making sure his patients are well taken care of and understand their illness and the treatment. He will even check in on you while he's on vacation. Thoughtful, thorough, patient and knowledgeable. A truly remarkable Doctor.

On time. Asked me for detailed description of my symptoms. Is very interested in my views. Collaborative in determining treatment. Visited me when I was a patient in VM Hospital even though my illness wasn’t related to his speciality.

His practice has become to overwhelming for him, has way to many patients in his practice. He rushes through appointments causing clinical oversights to treatment plans, and forgets serious life altering referrals, and medications. His clinical listening skills are shortcut clinical judgements, doesn't carefully answer all patients questions. He confused my chart with someone else's. His RN isn't a thorough and accountable liason. These are not acceptable clinical healthcare standards. Sad!
