I love Dr Barr. He actually spends more than a minute & half examaning, reviewing, asking questions, recording info. He's thorough.

One of those doctors with horrible bedside manner and one of those doctors that thinks he knows your body and what you are going through better than the patient. Listens to himself more than the patient. It really is a shame what he has turned Dr. B's practice into.

I asked for a copy of my bill and the doctor told me I was too needy. I was also told to find another doctor just for asking for a copy of my bill.

Dr Barr is a creep, do not take your daughters there. He was trying to give me a pap smear at 14-15 and when I said I was uncomfortable my mom had to advocate for me. Very unprofessional and makes uncomfortable comments. I will never go there again.

Honestly a craptacular doctor that does not even deserve to have his own GP practice with the amount of care he is willing to give to his patients. Will flat out lie to you to tell you a certain medication will help in a way that you desperately need it to when in reality there is no past instances of that medication ever working in that fashion all because he 1) does not listen to his patients because 2) he truly acts like he is better than his patients and their history/experience with their own medical issues and doesn't need to be bothered with what they think or feel. My insurance coverage changed at my work and he could no longer be my physician after many years. After I tried to get my meds since I had just done a wellness visit, they refused but wanted to make sure they got full payment for the wellness visit. Came down to the doctor wanting/demanding his bottom line, which is the $$.

I've been a patient of doctor Barr for years. My experience there has been between subpar to absolute frustration. While I believe Dr. Barr is caring in nature, I feel the efficiency of the office procedures are very dated. There are long wait times, and they only fax items, no scan in and email. My largest and most current frustrations have stemmed around trying to maintain taking a more natural form of thyroid medicine. The one I've had great success on for years was suddenly recalled. His office lacks compassion for issues with medication and have treated me absolutely terrible. My thyroid medicine was recalled due to a large error in the medicine being released without enough potency. In more understandable terms, this error in prescription makes my body lethargic, overwhelmed, constipated, leaves me with a low ability to handle stress. Pretty much nothing you want and then to be struggling with those symptoms and to be treated with such disrespect and lack of haste is just absolutely horrid. I began asking the office to switch me from a medicine that was recalled on Friday. I had to wait all weekend. And now on Monday after multiple calls to the office, by both me and my caring pharmacist, they submitted a prescription for me that was synthetic. I've pleaded for a very reasonable natural alternative to the current one I was taking. I wanted to go from Nature-thyroid to NP thyroid. The staff has gotten to the point that they are now ignoring my calls, refusing to call in a natural alternative for me. I can't get help from my family doctor, so this leaves me in a position to feel terrible until I can find a doctor who is willing to support me. I was a faithful patient who had their medicine abruptly recalled. I've been an excellent patient, I always go into my yearly appointments and take my blood work as needed to maintain my prescription. This thyroid recall is completely out of my control. I'm so completely disappointed with how the office handled this situation. I've been a patient of doctor Barr for years. My experience there has been between subpar to absolute frustration. My wife and I both have Dr. Barr as our general practitioner. He has always taken his time to listen to our health concerns. About 8 years ago, I was diagnosed with Type II diabetes. He prescribed Metformin, but he also suggested a life style change and gave us the name of a book to read. We read it and followed its guidelines. 2 years later I am off Metformin. I am very grateful. Thanks My wife and I both have Dr. Barr as our general practitioner. He has always taken his time to listen to our health concerns. Outstanding family care. Both my wife and I have Dr. Barr as our general practitioner. We appreciate that he is always takes time to listens to all our concerns. About 7 years ago, I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. He gave me a prescription but he also shared a book about diet and diabetes. My wife and I read it and took it seriously. I have been off of diabetes meds for 5 years. I also lost a bunch of weight.

I love Dr Barr. We have been seeing him for 3 years since our move to Lake Jackson. My husband even loved him because he always made the right call. Unfortunately this last visit my husband went in with some serious pain that is effecting his everyday life abilities. So much it is effecting his family along with his pain. He was not going in for pain meds let's make that clear. Arthritis runs in his family and we can not afford an MRI right now. His hands are starting to curl, his knees and joint areas have popping in them, he has even fallen in public areas due to his knees giving out from pain. It is embarrassing to him! It was as if it was made a joke about his pain. Dr Barr's response to my husband opening up to him was, "We need pain or we would kill ourselves." My husband giggled as if it was a joke Dr Barr said and Barr just starred at him. I do not appreciate that response to my husband's pain. Sad to say this makes us not want to revisit the clinic any more. My husband felt unheard and feels he has no where to turn to. That is a shame no one should feel alone in a medical time of need of assistance. I love Dr Barr. We have been seeing him for 3 years since our move to Lake Jackson. Doctor Barr has been my doctor for the last 5 years, I have only seen him a few times when I've needed things taken care of that were very important and to the point that I needed to visit the doctor. Most recently was yesterday I had been fighting a sickness since 2005 and was never able to find the problem back when I was in the military after many years, the problem had been laying dormant, it restarted its problematic issues in the last week. I went to see Dr. Barr about this after doing some research when I was on the table and he walked in and we were discussing my issue he had mentioned the same thing I was reading about. A doctor in 2005 at the same time that my issue 1st started found the problem with his own self and after many years he had done research and found out what was needed. With the knowledge of Dr. Barr, with keeping up with the medical treatments and research he was able to come up with a plan for me and put me on the recommended medication that was needed and the same medication that is over every website I have been on doing this research. And after just one treatment of the antibiotic the pain is gone, and hopefully will prevent this from turning to stomach cancer. Doctor Barr is a very quiet man he will sit and listen to every problem you have, and do a thorough examination. I think he is a great doctor and I will always respect him and appreciate what he does for the community and for helping me feel better. Dr Barr takes the time to listen. He will discuss treatment and why you need it. He and his staff has been fighting with my insurance company over my blood pressure medication. Express Scripts denied my medication but told me Dr Barr was not approving it. His staff called me and let me that they had been on the phone most of the time today trying to get my medication approved. I called Express Scripts I was finally told the truth that Express Scripts was denying it. Thank you for fighting

I changed physicans because he refused to listen to his patients and how they felt. He prescribed and a dangerous medication at a high dose for simple anxiety I had due to shingles. I had never had anxiety in my life. According to another physican the meds they gave and the dose that he prescribed was unnecessary. I also didn't realize at the time the shingles were the issue. I will never see Dr. Barr again. First the office is disgusting. Second, he prescribed a medicine for me at a strength that was entirely too strong, without warning me about possible side effects. The first night I took it, I thought I would die. This same prescription caused a 15-lb weight gain in two months (known side effect). When I went for a followup, some of my blood tests were out of whack and he attributed it to my 15-lb weight gain, saying they would normalize if I lost the weight.
