My Husband and I felt that Dr. Fabi was in a hurry to get out of our room. Very little information was given. We had to ask questions to even get as much information that we got. We were very disappointed.

For years I had knee pain and the other doctors jus gave me injections. Dr Fabi was very attentive since the first appointment, and gave me solutions. So, he did my knee replacement and I’m very happy with the results.

Dr Fabi addressed all my concerns about my now 7 week recovery from knee replacement. I felt that I, as well as my questions, were important to him and I did not feel rushed at all. I even got a hug of reassurance that Im going to be ok. Thankyou! I needed that!

Dr Fabi listens carefully to my symptoms and this has helped me get the correct medical care. It is very easy to be misunderstood by a surgeon, but not tge case with Dr Fabi. This surgeon, Dr Fabi, places the "whole patient" as the priority. Body-Mind-Spirit-Pain level- Quality of Life. I highly recommend Dr Fabi for others who may be limping, struggling with balance issues and chronic pain. The staff in the office will call you by name and always treat you with respect also. DR. FABI is such a BRILLIANT, WONDERFUL, KIND, AMAZING SURGEON and PERSON! He Is A True Blessing from God! Also ALL of HIS STAFF/TEAM are Absolutely WONDERFUL TOO! I am a retired RN and was scheduled to have hip replacement surgery with an Inpatient hospital Stay at Coronado Hospital 2/1/23. At a New Year’s Eve Party, I met a Dear San Diego Life Guard who had both hips replaced by Dr. Fabi Outpatient. He Raved about Dr. Fabi, his care and how incredible He felt! I called Dr. Fabi’s Office asking to be seen ASAP and they were so kind. I saw Dr. Fabi 1/10/23 and my Outpatient Surgery was Performed 1/26/23 at the Wonderful Advanced Surgery Center of North County in Escondido, California. I arrived at the Surgery Center in the morning and left pain free in the evening. I started Physical Therapy the next day and at my 2 week post- op visit with Dr. Fabi, after only 6 Physical Therapy Sessions, Dr. Fabi examined me and said, “Go Enjoy Your Life!” I had suffered severe “bone on bone” hip pain for months prior to my surgery that was totally debilitating limiting all my walking/activities which resulted in severe depression. The surgery itself seems surreal today when I remember my patients who had hip replacement surgery when I became a nurse in 1977. My patients stayed in the hospital for weeks to recover! I have received such Excellent Care from Dr. Fabi and His Wonderful Team…the Anesthesiologist, All the Staff at The Surgery Center… the Amazing Nurses there, His Office Staff and the Physical Therapist! Dr Fabi came highly recommended and has definitely has lived up to his reputation. Dr Fabi is knowledgeable, friendly and tenacious. He fought for my hip replacement surgery and got it approved. I am two weeks out from surgery with barely a limp and an overall reduction in pain in my lower back and other hip. I had a great experience with Dr Fabi and his staff. After a long career where my hip took a lot of abuse I was faced with hip replacement. Dr Fabi explained what I needed and performed the procedure. I was walking in post op and my recovery has been non eventful. I highly recommend Dr Fabi

I had bi-lateral knee replacement on Dec 5, 2022. At the age of 71, I was still very active but had bone on bone. Dr. Fabi gave me the encouragement I needed and I’m delighted to say, that I was back in the pool swimming after 5 weeks. I am very grateful to Dr. Fabi and his team. I spent some time finding just the right surgeon for my hip replacement. Coming from a family lineage of nurses and doctors, I am also somewhat selective. Dr. David Fabi is an exceptional surgeon who not only is an expert in his field, he has an kind and caring bedside manner and he spends the time necessary to ensure that you are confident and informed about the process. He supports the healing process, beyond the actual surgery. He is practicing the most advanced techniques for this kind of surgery which support faster, easier healing. The office staff are intelligent, detailed, very reliable and caring. My surgery experience really could not have been better. It was well organized, smooth, easy, fast and I was well cared for from the first visit to my 5 week check in visit. Dr. Fabi made me feel totally comfortable with the idea of a knee replacement from the moment he walked in the room. He has an amazing bedside manner and the whole process is well thought out. After 5 surgeries on my right knee, I am very optimistic of success. Original surgeon preformed a TKR. I had 2 follow up surgeries within a year and a half. 2 years after the original surgery I had enough of him. I was still in pain and poor movement. Dr. Fabi worked on the original hardware, giving me a little over 3 years of pain free but still limited movement. 5 months ago the knee started back down the old path. Dr Fabi had me do a bone scan that found bone loss (due to the original hardware). 6 weeks ago we had a revision surgery taking out the original hardware and replaced it with a new knee. I am far ahead of schedule in my recovery. Dr Fabi cleared me to get back on my bike for road riding today. I’m ecstatic. Possibly… maybe… able to return to the tennis court??? Dr Fabi is grate, but his staff can be very unprofessional. The scheduling manager Teresa is very rude and very unprofessional and shouldn't be dealing with patients. Dr Fabi is a magician. If you need hip or knee replacement, hobble or crawl to see Dr. Fabi. He is not only a great surgeon, he is a warm and caring person.

The whole experience from start to finish was professionally handled. I was seen promptly by Dr. Fabi on my office visits. I was given all the information I needed for the pre-op and post-op procedures. I recovered rapidly from the operation. I no longer have hip related pain, and my strength and mobility are much improved. Why did I wait so long to have this done.

Dr. Fabi and the entire staff at San Diego orthopedics is excellent and made the surgical experience run smoothly. I am so happy to be out of pain and gaining my strength and mobility back it is life changing. Dr. Fabi listened to me and answered all my questions completely with compassion and in terms I can understand. Hi, my name is Nataliia, and I am 32 y/o. For the last 2 years, I was going through the darkest, darkest period in my life. I developed Brain Radiation Necrosis as a side effect of radiation treatment in 2020. My recovery was very tough and very long. I had been on high doses of steroids for long period of time. My radiation oncologist Dr. wasn't nice, and it was ridiculously insane for her to ignore my complaints about severe drilling headaches and other symptoms like nausea and vomiting, just to name a few, when they tried to taper me off steroids too fast totally disregarding my complains that were clearly indicative of brain swelling/inflammation progression. They finally believed me when I ended up in ICU with altered mental status and lost half of my vision due to severe brain swelling. I was restarted on high doses of steroids again. During 2020, I had multiple hospitalizations and ER visits; brain swelling was coming back 4 times (after each taper down of steroids) until I tried experimental drug. Also, due to use of steroids, I gain a lot of weight and developed Cushing syndrome. I wasn't able to walk, I had so much pain in my legs for the last 9 months. I developed Avascular Necrosis in both hips as a side effects of corticosteroids. My first Ortho Dr. wasn't nice, and it felt like if I would not be able to walk, it would be ok with her. I was using a walker since August 2021 until April 2022, and prior to that, I was bed ridden for 2 months. My mom did some research and found Dr. DAVID FABI; IT WAS SUCH A HUGE BLESSING for me and my family that, after so many months spent in pain, we found hope and the DOCTOR who possesses the qualities such as compassion, understanding, honesty, professionalism, competence, commitment, dedication. The Doctor who could help me, and whom I could trust. I had two separate total hip replacement surgeries done by Dr. David Fabi and was impressed by cleanliness of the surgical center. Dr Fabi takes his work very seriously. He is very answerable, reliable, trustable and positive person. He is working graciously well with his patients. I am so blessed to have him as my Doctor. I am about 7 weeks out from left total knee replacement by Dr. Fabi. I opted to have my surgery performed at the Advanced Surgery Center in Escondido and was able to be discharged the same day!!! I felt so much better being able to recover at home. I had a total right knee replacement up in Seattle 8 years ago, stayed in the hospital for 2-3 days, had a much longer recovery period, and I am amazed at the difference with Dr. Fabi's surgery. Within the first week postop I was able to get around without a cane or walker and get in and out of the shower. This is not something I was able to do for at least six weeks with my last surgery. Another contrast is the incision! Dr. Fabi's technique creates a much smaller incision. I immediately had full extension of my leg after surgery and by three weeks postop I had 125 degrees flexion and now (at 7 weeks) I have full range of motion. I still occasionally ice and elevate after long walks, but am able to walk 3-4 miles without problems. Today I even tried one of my favorite hikes on a groomed trail but lots of uphill/downhill. I still have some swelling from time to time, but that is improving every day and I love being able to sleep without pain and do things I have not been able to do for the last year due to knee pain. I have put off this surgery because I did not look forward the long grueling recovery and hospital stay, but that was not the case with Dr. Fabi. I am two weeks post-op for my second outpatient total hip replacement (THR) with Dr. Fabi. Although my first THR was fine, I was happy to hear he was using new technical advances. I could actually lift my leg much faster and easier than my first THR, which pleasantly surprised me. After a few days, I left my walker behind and started walking up and down my block. I attribute an expedient recovery to Dr. Fabi utilizing the latest surgical technology available. I am so happy with Dr. Fabi’s new approach. Also, the staff was great at Advanced Surgery Center of North County. In at 7:30AM and out by 1:30PM. In pre-op, I got lots of warmed blankets and excellent care. Good experience from start to finish with an anterior hip replacement surgery. The office staff was helpful and available. The office visits were prompt and efficient. The on-site X-ray facility allowed immediate review and analysis of the hip problem. Dr. Fabi is tops. My recovery was remarkable. A friend referred me to a knee surgeon, who told me I needed full knee replacements. I saw Dr. Fabi for a second opinion, and was told my problem only needed a partial replacement, and fully explained the problem I had, while going over my x-rays. I was impressed not only with his knowledge and expertise, but also by his honesty. I’m nine weeks out since my surgery, and have a fully functional knee again, with no pain! I’m a 74 year old diagnosed with osteoarthritis of the hip and knowing my fathers hip arthritis history knew a THA was ahead. After reviewing my options and investigating the latest technology my research led me to MicroPort’s implant and its’ benefit of “Minimal Invasive Surgery”. I chose a surgeon that used this technology and promoted the MIS approach for his procedures. I am a medical device engineer and have extensive experience with orthopedic surgeons. Dr. David W. Just had my final visit with Dr Fabi for my knees. It’s been a year since my surgery and I’m so happy with my new lease on life.

When your physical therapist raves about your surgeon you know you chose wisely. These are the people who see patients from many different doctors as well as the results and required therapy after surgery. I had 2 assessments and 3 outpatient sessions with therapists and they praised Dr. Fabi. His no precautions surgical technique will undoubtedly revolutionize hip and knee replacement surgery. On day 3, I walked 1/2 mile. At 4 weeks post surgery I rode a spin bike 15 miles and walked 2 miles. I’ve always been active so my results may not be yours, but I see Dr. Fabi and his team as the reason my recovery is going so well.

I had my right hip replaced 14 years ago by Dr. Louis Levy who did a fantastic job. My left hip started bothering me and unfortunately Dr. Levy had retired. So I did research and came upon Dr. Fabi and saw great reviews and watched some amazing videos of his patients speedy and great recoveries. I highly recommend Dr. Fabi who successfully did my left hip replacement. I chose him as I had searched for a surgeon and came upon his great reviews and patients all said he was fantastic and marveled at their speedy and very effective recoveries. I likewise never used any pain medications after the first day and never used a walker,but only a cane for the first day and then no aids of any kind were used. You cannot find a better surgeon for your hip replacement!

Dr. Fabi is an incredible surgeon & did my total knee replacement 4 mos ago. He is very personable as is his staff.

Dr Fabi replaced my right knee 17 days ago and wished I had it done years ago. I can not thank him and his staff enough, they made the whole process very easy, from pre/post op and the day of surgery.

I had an anterior hip replacement w/Dr. Fabi at the Escondido facility, walked in at 5:00 am, and was home and walking up stairs afternoon same day. Much less disruptive to my life than I expected. Six weeks later I'm totally back into my routines. Dr. Fabi & his team are totally on top of their game.

I appreciated the "keep it simple" approach to my knee surgery from the whole team - the process was simple, understandable, and the results were first rate. Dr Fabi is very personable and takes all the time necessary to answer questions and address any concerns. I have already recommended him to several friends

I recently had a full hip replacement by Dr. Fabi and the results have been fantastic. For the first time in years i have no pain in that hip and my two legs are actually the same length. Dr. Fabi is compassionate and kept me well informed every step of the way.

Dr. David Fabi gave me hope! I was bone on bone for years and couldn't stand very long or walk very far. I tried everything from knee injections to vitamin supplements and pain medications. I had total knee replacements for both my right and left knee eight weeks apart as an outpatient. I started physical therapy within days and I am so happy with the results! I already HAVE recommended Dr. Fabi to four other people. Best surgeon for knee surgery I've ever had! Walking the day of surgery was amazing! Hard work in physical therapy to train muscles, but I gave it my all and feel I'm at 99% right now, in mere weeks!

Dr. Fabi is an outstanding surgeon and would not use anyone else. Had a full knee replacement 3 weeks ago and already using the Peleton and able to walk for long distances. He explains everything thoroughly and let’s you know exactly what to expect. I also had a full hip replacement by Dr. Fabi 5 years ago and I can do absolutely everything in terms of exercise and daily activities. You will be sorry if you don’t use him for your surgery. He truly is the best.

WOW! it has been sooo long since I have had a fantastic experience with my Medical visits. In fact, I have never had a good experience with my Medical appointments,, no matter which Doctor. But here , everyone was so welcoming and had a wonderful relaxed manner that made me at ease and knew that I was in great caring hands. Everyone starting with the Medical assistant , and then Jason who is the Radiology technician and finally Dr. Fabi, himself, all had wonderful sense of humor, very friendly and cheerful. Dr. Fabi is very knowledgeable, easy going and had wonderful bed side manner. Loved my experience today with everyone at Dr. Fabi's staff and himself.

Great person and caring and great staff

Dr Fabi is very charismatic and personable. And he has 12 yrs experience doing total hip replacement, which is what I had (second side, as my yoga instructor says!). He seems able to get patients in for surgery much faster than most (4-5 weeks after my initial appt) vs four months with others (if you can even get an initial consultation in the first place! Sharp, are you listening??). He’s very upbeat and positive about outcome and recovery period, which is important to patient attitude. My surgery took place at the Advanced Surgery Center of North County in Escondido, which, for north county residents, is much easier to get to, has plenty of parking, and is a much pleasanter drive than his downtown location at Scripps Mercy Hospital. Recommended! Even tho the procedure was outpatient (Yes, really!), I was up and walking mostly unaided the NEXT day. (My four days of yoga per week leading up to surgery no doubt helped recovery.) Be prepared for lots of florid purple bruising on the affected leg. But that dissipates by the two-week post-op appt. My neighbors have been amazed at my quick recovery. Still some recovery to go, but it’s been two weeks after the surgery and I’m mostly off the narcotic pain meds. PT is working well w Bridge Home Health that his ofc recommended. Over the past four years it has been necessary for me to have both knees and one hip replaced. In all three instances I have chosen Dr. David Fabi and his team to do the surgery and follow up evaluations. The pre-planning, scheduling and coordination provided by his team was quick and efficient. There was none of this work that fell upon me to do. Dr. Fabi performed robotic surgery on my knees and a newer approach to my hip replacement. In every instance the surgeries accomplished the goal of eliminating pain and restoring my ability to walk without canes or walkers. In all cases the recovery time was exceptionally fast and without a great deal of pain. After suffering with debilitating hip pain and limited range of movement for years, I found Dr. David Fabi. I immediately felt comfortable and confident in his care the first time I met him. He is kind, caring and took his time to explain my hip problems and solution for a better quality of life. Dr. Fabi recommended a anterior total hip replacement procedure as it is less invasive and has less downtime. I am still employed in a very physically demanding profession. I had my surgery a little over 2 weeks ago. I was back at home the same day. Walked into his office a couple days ago without any walking aid. The office was backed up apparently, so my meeting time with the doctor was about an hour after my appointment time. Other than that, no problem.

If you are sick of having pain getting in or out of bed; going to the restroom; getting up from a chair; getting in & out of your car or not being able to exercise because of severe hip pain go see Dr David Fabi. I was to the point of not wanting to do anything because of the pain. I tried numerous cortisone injections which sometimes helped but not always. I also went to weeks of PT (which actually made the pain worse). I got an MRI and finally decided to go and see Dr Fabi. I'm so glad I did instead of waiting around in pain. His approach was the anterior total hip replacement which is less invasive and less downtime. He's very kind and easy to talk to and he put my mind at ease. I knew exactly what to expect before, during & after. Everything went according to plan. I'm two months out and I have ZERO hip pain. I'm back to walking in my neighborhood and doing the things I haven't been able to do in a very long time. His staff is awesome both in the office and at the surgery center. Don't wait in pain any longer.
