Dr. David Edward Holck

I have been here 3 times, pre-op, surgery, post-opp. Terribly long waits. 2hrs first time, 1 hr on surgery day and then a different dr did procedure, and 2 hrs on last visit. Very confused staff.

-they rarely answer calls -they do not return VM or emails -staff screwed up surgery date csusing such a delay, had to go through insurance approval all over again. Took 6 months to get corrective surgery -they overbook appointments. Lobby packed, people standing around because of no chairs open. I left after 30 minutes. No way was I going to sit there for who-knows-how-long for my post op follow up -horribly mismanaged practice. Dr. Houlck and his staff obviously do not respect their patients by allowing these things to happen. -read these reviews and make an informed decision about going here

The front desk staff are difficult to get a hold of. Will not return messages and transfer calls to voicemails. Incredibly frustrating.

Worst communication of any Dr office I have had to deal with ever….unorganized and unfriendly.

Think twice. Had done in 2018. Noticed numbness on left side of head and pain above left eye. Incisions were greater then told they would be. Have tracks on my now. When brought to Dr Holck’s attention he would always deflect on how great things looked. Guess they did bc I could have had a droopy eye, unable to open or close my eye, unable to lift my eyebrow so yes I guess it could have been worse. The fact that my surgery took less than the time it took my son to drive home and called to come get me tells me it was rushed. Maybe if he took his time things would b different but they’re not. I was told every visit “don’t worry feeling will come back” and “u look great.” All I can say is think twice when u consider dr Holck. He’s a very nice person but questionable on surgical skills. Think twice when having him do ur surgery.

Doctor was very nice but overly optimistic. Staff was rude, constantly rescheduling, thoughtless. Disappointing results and painful to work with. Want you to travel to other cities to see them once you are a captive patient. Definitely must be better places to go.

This guy may be a good Dr. but his staff is awful. I arrived today for an appt and the lady up front told me they were running on schedule. 20 mins later I inquired and they told me the same thing?? After waiting 45 minutes, I asked when I might be seen. The receptionist said she didn't know but “soon”. She obviously didn’t know so I asked for the office mgr. Another employee comes out and very rudely tells me “ we don’t know how many questions they are going to ask us back there so we don’t know what to tell you” . “We’ll see you soon”. You could tell they had no idea but were coached to try to appease the patient. I left. They called me a few mins later to ask if I wanted to reschedule . Ridiculous . The first time I called for an appointment, I had a hard time getting through. Finally someone told me that someone would call me back by the end of that day. No one ever called me back. I called them back a few days later, and again had a very hard time getting anyone to answer. . When someone finally answered, they very rude!!! Dr. Holck came highly recommended, but I was treated rudely on the phone. He needs to replace some of his office staff!!

Dr Holck is very nice and thorough, softer you get in to see him. The wait in the waiting room has been up to 45 minutes. They don’t have enough seating for everyone in the waiting area. After having bloodwork done, the doctor was supposed to call. It has been three weeks and I have called twice and left a message. Still no call. I waited 1.15 minutes past my appointment time to see the doctor. They do not run a smooth operation here. I would suggest another practice.

I meet with doctor and he also recommended a brow lift. I told them no thank you, but I did agree with eyelift. My insurance denied the procedure and after that the office staff has been rude and when I finally get to talk with someone after two weeks of leaving messages they are unwilling to help. I have been given different information and they told me they had a peer to peer set up, but the doctor did not make the call. Doctors office is blaming everything on insurance. Had appointment with Dr.Holck for 2 pm. Appointment was changed to 11AM was sent address with suite number and was told to be 15 minutes early for paperwork. Was given wrong suite number no one in the building had ever heard of him .I call back and was given the correct suite number only to find office close. Four people were waiting at the door all four of us had 11AM appointment visit charge$ 162.00. I was the last one to be seen by . Dr. Holck when he showed up at 11 told me I needed a brow lift as well received a quote for $8,855.00 .I said no thank you. Then I was told I was to young to look that old and to talk it over with my husband by Teresa his staff member. Horrible experience..I plan on letting my eye Dr. Who sent me there know. Loved the proffesionalism of the staff and Dr. Holck. I am truly happy with the results of the surgery. I felt my best interest and satisfaction were top priority. I would highly recommend Dr. Holck, he takes the time to know his patient and provides the best care.

Good outcome, but very poor follow-up office experience... surgical procedure to open a blocked tear duct (dacryocystorhinostomy) was successful and I was entitled to three (3) follow-up visits. NO WHERE in the paperwork did it state all FUVs must be completed within three (3) months or additional consult fees would be required. When I showed up 3.5 months after surgery for final FUV, I was told the charge would be $125 - it was simply written on the paper when I signed in. I questioned the front desk staff and office manager. I was told there was no exception and I wouldn't be seen if I "couldn't pay the fee." I said I certainly COULD pay the fee but I would NOT pay anything additional because I was entitled to a third visit as part of the FUV to my procedure. A return phone call to a practice manager was useless... he was pleasant but admitted there is NO WRITTEN POLICY re: 90-day completion of visits. Customer service in this practice is zero.

Dr. Holck performed my face lift. Overall I am very pleased with the results. It did take some time for the bruising to subside, but well worth it. Staff is very friendly and attentive.

Met with Dr. Holck in a regional office in Pleasanton, TX. Not a great experience. Staff seemed to be just setting up for my 10:30 am arrival. The first thing the staff wanted was my credit card so they could charge me $110, for appointments as "testing." I did get in promptly, however, I was out in less than 7 minutes! The "testing" consisted of taking digital pictures and looking in my eyes. Dr. Holch was very professional and explained that I did need the eyelift surgery, but that was not the entire problem, I would also need to have a browlift. He did explain that insurances did not often cover it, but they would send in the paperwork and see...but that he would do the eyelift, which in my case would be covered by insurance. OK. Was turned over to office staff, who were extremely busy. No worries. Waited and checked watch. That's how I know my visit was less than 7 minutes. When it was my turn with the office staff, the staff member looked at my paperwork and started looking for and adding numbers. I was then presented for a $4,500 "estimate" for the browlift, and informed that the insurance would not pay (no one even sent in a pre-authorization) and that I would also be responsible for 15% of the cost for the eyelift. This staff person couldn't even figure out what 100%-75% was and also told me the doctor operated on Saturday and the about two minutes later said, "no Wednesday." I was then immediately asked to book the surgery (again, no preauthorization) and when I said I needed to think about it, I was given "pre-op" paperwork packet and rushed out the door. No mention of scheduling the needed eyelift. On the way home I remembered that I did not get a receipt for the visit, called the satellite office, was told to call main office. Main office said they would email one--still waiting. Bottom line, Dr. Holck may be an excellent surgeon, but the office practices made me feel like I was a head of cattle in a money factory. I am going to contact my insurance company, find out what I need to do to see if I can get the procedures covered and then find another surgeon. Or just wait. Not a life-and-death situation. Dr. H is a great guy & excellent surgeon. I could not see him for my scheduled visit because the office staff did not tell me there was a charge for the visit. Follow-up surgical visits are usually cost free. The office demonstrated poor client communication skills. It is ashame b/c doctor is so awesome.

Saw Dr Holck for eyelid ptosis and couldnt be more pleased with the outcome! From initial visit to his practice thru surgery and followup appts he and his staff are extremely professional and effieient. Love their time management, extremely accountable and consistently on time every time! The procedure itself was painless and healed quickly without any scaring. I had a consultation with Dr.Holck in Victoria ,TX today and I am very satisfied ! I decided to book with him after reading all of these great reviews and now I understand why . There was a bit of a wait but I was told ahead of time to expect it and the visit was well worth it ! The surgery scheduler was very professional and nice ! and even the check out staff I saw the previous post about the copay complaint and being rushed and I must say I beg to differ with the way the staff is described !

Dr Holck came highly recommended and now I know why. He is extremely knowledgable, professional, and very personable! I wasn't sure what to expect but he explained the procedure to me in words that i could understand. I couldn't be happier with my results. I will use him again in the future and now I can highly recommend him to my friends and family!

positive. this review is for staff only please. suggestion to postop staff. the environment for coming out of anesthesia is supposed to be quiet and as calm as possible. instead it was like being in a sports bar. i asked the staff twice to quiet down. other than that, all was great!

Dr Hulk was recomeded to me by Dr winters which is an eye sergeon amd he told me he was the best in ths business. And the rest is history. Dr Hulk I is very highly recomeded to me and i will recomed him to anyone that wojld wojld think of using eyeplastics

Just met with him. He was rude and rushed me out after I said I had been told he would do procedure same day. Said, “I don’t care what you were told”, “ I have to see you first “. This after eye doctor had already referred me. I am very upset with treatment.
