Dr. David M Katz

All of the 1 star reviews are spot on. I experienced exactly what others have described (see review from "First Class" and "Samantha"). Read all of the negative reviews across various sites, I wish I had before the appointment. Dr. Katz showed zero empathy for my condition; he literally scoffed at me while I discussed my symptoms as if there were no way what I was saying could be true. He did not demonstrate any expertise in my specific condition, was incredibly dismissive and rude, and provided recommendations that had no impact on my issues

Dr. David Katz MD bedside manner is horrible. (Read the various other reviews, don’t just take my word for it). He doesn’t listen to the history of the patient, is completely dismissive, condescending and likes to stroke his own ego as often as he can during conversations. He also likes to try to belittle you if you show any type of medical knowledge whatsoever, despite him not knowing your background. At one point Dr. David Katz MD he even made faces at me. He also likes to point out dis diplomas with Dr. David Katz MD any chance he can to back up why he wont give you an opportunity to speak. My thought was perhaps he is one of those men who is use to belittling women and that is part of the reason he was so horrible. But now after reading more reviews about Dr. David Katz MD is he does this to others. Dr. David Katz MD My recommendations is unless you are in a desperate and can’t find a different a different nuero ophthalmologist. DO NOT USE DR. DAVID M KATZ MD

He immediately corrected my double vision with Fresnel prisms. Four years of the problem and consults with two ophthalmologists had failed to address this issue.

Although Dr. Katz would often flatter himself with self congratulatory accolades, and projected great medical wisdom, I found his analysis and care to be subpar in the end. His defensive ego-driven bedside manner prevented him from admitting there may be other possibilities. Not only did he misdiagnose my rather complex condition, his treatments and advice were completely worthless as a result. Despite my frail condition, I found his chronic dismissiveness to be extremely frustrating to say the least. Sadly, any openminded, intelligent discussion based on medical literature is to be avoided at all cost especially if it challenges any of his premature diagnostic analyses... unless of course you're willing to be verbally humiliated in front of your family. Closed mindedness has no place in today's modern medicine especially when your patient is severely suffering from an unknown condition. Let that be a lesson and a warning. I love me some Mary and Betty!!!! Even though Betty fussed at me because I forgot to do my labs and MRI ( I'm such a bad patient LOL) I still love this office. I can always get what I need and then Dr. Katz who has been my provider for the last 7 years can tell me ( A nurse) how well or bad I am doing with my MS. If I didn't LOVE them so much I would've left but I refuse to leave. I have changed my insurance for 2022, but I am willing to pay out of pocket because I am not changing providers. After several attempts to make an appointment as a referral from my primary care Dr. I finally reached a woman that was both rude and unhelpful. I will contact my Dr. for an alternative as I have zero interest in seeing anyone in this office. After reading the response I must add that the woman that I now know as Mary also has a problem with the truth. You can talk to anyone who knows me personally and suggest that I used the language described in your response. They will also confirm that you could not be telling the truth. went there years ago. and was very hopeful I would get help. And I just looked him up for recent reviews and my thinking about him was 100% validated. In every way I was tremendously disappointed. I felt not enough time which may diagnose to me and it was quick. I have a great many over the years and I wasn’t confident at all. Validate every negative thing that I read here and so revisiting him would be the biggest mistake and waste of my time at this point in my life. Certainly you can make better choice but worth trying once with the hope that things have improved over the years

Always a pleasure to see Dr. Katz and his staff. And we have been meeting like this for a couple of years now! Dr. Katz is up front and will tell you what has to be done for your illness. He is to the point. Do not be of faint heart. Dr. Katz will help you if he can. Plus, there is the added bonus of Sheldon.

I was reading some of the comments and honestly I was a patient of Dr. Kats for a while. He was very patient, answered all my questions and listened to everything I had to say. He treated my condition and till this day I am so healthy and very thankful for all his help!! I’ll highly recommend him!!! He is the best

I would give Dr. Katz 10 stars. He is very intelligent, knowledgeable of his field, unbiased, and courteous. He answered all of my questions, explained everything thoroughly, and gave me the attention needed for my concern. Highly recommend him. I would give his secretary 1 star. She was very belittling, arrogant, and extremely difficult to work with. I don't deal with insurance every day, as many people don't. Every time I asked a question, she treated me like a child. I hope Dr. Katz catches onto this, because my guess is she is driving customers away, which he doesn't deserve. I would give Dr. Katz 10 stars. I have been seeing Dr. Katz for 3 years and he is one of the most caring and attentive physicians I have ever seen. He is thorough and explains in great detail what he is doing and why it is necessary. His staff is also friendly and courteous. If you have the opportunity to work with him you will not be dissappointed.

The Front Desk Staff are fantastic! They are very easy to work with, and very thorough, unlike so many other doctors’ offices. Dr Katz was excellent with my elderly mother and has an awesome bedside manner. He is unbelievably knowledgeable and explained things plainly, so we could both understand his diagnosis. He was very patient, asked us many questions, and answered all of ours. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND family and friends to Dr Katz. Thank you!

Seems like the negative reviews are more focused on insurance or the fact they couldn't get in same day. Not relevant to his level of care. I have been seeing Dr. Katz for 2 years and he was able to manage my migraines and vision loss from IH when my prior doctor could not. He has been supportive, respectful and taken time with me each appointment. I never wait long and I feel like all my questions are answered when I leave . Even the ones I didn't think to ask. Ok the first year but then went downhill. Had to find new doctor when he got dropped from the doctor roster by my insurance company (for a good reason) but turned out Ok. I was upset but my new doctor is better(and cheaper).

Dr Katz didn't listen to me. Diagnosed me within minutes and wouldn't listen to anything that I had to say that contradicted his opinion. He talked down to me and kept interrupting me when I was speaking. He told me that everything my previous neurologist said/diagnosed was wrong. ALL if it. To top it off, he doesn't take my insurance, so paid a lot of money out of pocket to be treated in this manner. Total waste of my time and money. Dr Katz didn't listen to me. My name is La Shawn, Dr. Katz diagnosed me almost 7 years ago with MS. He's an awesome doctor. I trust him with my medical care. I would highly recommend Dr. Katz.

I just love Dr Katz! He is compassionate, funny and reassuring. My insurance is changing (boo!!) But I think for now, I will still bite the bullet and continue to see him as long as I can! Good Dr's are few and far between, and he's a great neurologist in my opinion :)

Dr. Katz is an amazing doctor. I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis at age 23, shortly after I had my son. I didn't have a babysitter and had to bring my son (who was about 24 months old at the time) to one of my appointments and to keep my son occupied during the appointment Dr. Katz give him his keys to play with so he could examine me. Dr. Katz has been my neurologist for over 5 years. The office staff is very helpful and polite. He's usually booking about 2 months ahead but has aways been able to squeeze me in in an emergency. I'm even able to get my MRIs done in the same building. I'm extremely grateful for Dr. Katz. Dr. Katz is an amazing doctor. Very impressed with Dr Katz!! Informative, direct and answers questions honestly. While I am not one to "need" bedside manner-He does provide and tells you the real deal, kindly but without sugar coating . I much prefer honest -prepares a person for how to plan for treatment. I've been sent to numerous physicians over the past 9 years-Dr. Katz , I believe knew the day he met me what my diagnosis was--would absolutely recommend to family and friends.... Bonus-Sheldon, his dog is very comforting

My sister suffered a stroke and couldnt see out of her eye. She went to the opthamologist who said she needed Dr. Katz ASAP. MY mother called for three days, noone called back, she finally reached the office staff who said to send the opthamology and neurology notes and radiology reports. We sent them that same day. the call was returned and she was told they had an appointment two months later. She called a different neuro opthamologist who saw her immediately spent five hours testing her and she has been seeing a cornea specialist every other day since. Dr. Katz is a skilled neurologist who is very intelligent yet, able to explain the diagnosis and prognosis in lay terms. He provides options for treatment that allows the patient to be an active participant in the healing process. I highly recommend this doctor.

Dr Katz has been my wife's Dr. For over 7 years. He is a great Dr. who takes excellent care of his patience. Dr. Katz is more than just a Dr. he truly wants to find the root of the problem. The staff is very polite and do not over book. I would recommend this Dr. for any and all optical nerve problems.

Extremely poor bedside manner. Did not listen to my answers to his question unless he agreed with them. He was rushed and impatient. Far from thorough exam. If you are allergic to dogs think twice about going as he keeps his dog there. Sent in medical records in advance that were lost. The records were finally found in the wrong file.
