A kind and incredibly skilled doctor. I’m so happy I got my ankle surgery with Dr. Levine.

I’ve had surgery on both my feet! One year apart and never really had pain at least nothing more than needing Tylenol, never took strong medication! I’d recommend Dr Levine in a NY minute ! He has aGreat attitude and personality! ????????

Well, I waited for 2.5 hours to get an xray (even though I went to get a second opinion on a diagnosis for something which doesn't show up on an xray, AND I had a very recent xray and MRI on a disc with me) and see Dr. Levine for literally less than 5 minutes. He told me he couldn't read the MRI I brought on his own but didn't want to call the radiologist, so he'd call me back after speaking with him. He then never called or responded to messages I've left him. I was charged 532 dollars for this. Avoid Dr. Levine! I had ankle surgery in August 2021. Dr. Levine botched the surgery and did a horrible job on my ankle. It has been eight months and I still cannot walk properly, and I am in a lot of pain. I continue to tell Dr. Levine that I am in a lot of pain, and I cannot walk; however, Dr. Levine continues to tell me that everything is fine. Moreover, Dr. Levine damaged my nerve thus leaving me without any sensation in the front and on the side of my foot. Furthermore, I told Dr. Levine that the back of my calf was hurting a lot and I was concerned that I had a blood clot. Dr. Levine dismissed my concerns and said that there was no way I could have a blood clot. However, I went to a vascular doctor and had an ultrasound on my leg, and indeed I did have a DVT blood clot, and I am on Xarelto now, so it does not become a PE and kill me. Thank God I did not listen to Dr. Levine, and I went to see a vascular doctor or else I would be dead from a PE by now. Furthermore, I went to two other orthopedic doctors for a second and third opinion. Both doctors said that the way that the way Dr. Levine did the procedure on me (i.e. using metal anchors) was archaic, and the nerve damage that I have is permanent. Both doctors also said that I have to undergo another surgery to repair the damage that Dr. Levine did. If you want to be able to walk properly and not have pain eight months after surgery, do not go to Dr. Levine! Avoid Dr. Levine! I had ankle surgery in August 2021. Dr David Levine is an excellent specialist, highly professional, polite, with great bedside manners. He patiently spends a lot of time during his appointments to explain everything, with all the questions answered. I would definitely recommend him without any hesitation.

Dr. Levine was amazing threw out my whole experience. He explained everything very thoroughly to made sure I understood what to expect before and after my surgery. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to anyone and always do when people ask me about my surgery. Kristine Barone

I met with a few foot ankle orthopedists at the Hospital for Special Surgery. Dr. Levine was one of the most professional & honest. You can tell he truly knows the intricacies of the anatomy and physiology of the foot, as well as the biomechanics and overall body alignment issues that can result from rearrangement of foot structures, including soft tissues such as tendons and ligaments. He explained to me the tripod balance that needs to happen in the foot for optimal stability and function... My significant other and I liked him a lot. Even though I ended up choosing another surgeon to perform my surgery because a friend of mine had success with the other surgeon and I guess I was somewhat biased by her experience, I belong to a group of over thousands of people with similar foot issues and have recommended Dr. Levine to many. His office staff, especially Jadira the manager, are also courteous, organized and prompt in communication and assistance. Top notch surgeon and awesome staff.

Dr. David is an incredible doctor. David operated on my left ankle after breaking/dislocating it, so far I am 4 months in and I’m recovering really well. Extremely knowledgeable and professional. Patient in explaining every aspect of treatment. Very detailed with diagnosis and appropriately technical in describing injuries from mechanical demonstrations of anatomical models to reading MRI charts. I was surely in good hands

I don’t usually write reviews but had to in this case because it was the reviews of patients that led to my decision to use Dr. Levine for my Ankle tendon transplant. I could not have made a better choice and am very thankful for those reviews. Do not hesitate one bit to use this remarkable surgeon. My entire process was seamless from start to finish. This office is run like a well oiled machine and everyone there is so caring and attentive. You’ll know why once you go for a consult. He goes above and beyond to take the time to answer questions and explain in non doctor terms in a warm and caring manner. I am healing nicely and all is going as planned. The thing that surprises me the most is you never wait longer than 10 minutes to get in the office, even though he’s so busy it runs so smoothly. I used Dr Levine for ankle surgery several years ago and my ankle has not been right since. I have periods where I barely can walk. His bedside manner was fine but it is unfortunate that I am in this situation where I am in pain for days at a time. On top of that the billing department did not submit the claim properly which eventually ended with them sending this to collections. This physician refuses to speak to physicians when they want to refer patients. His staff gives you the run around and lies and says that they will have the doctor call their primary care doctor when he has no interest in doing so. He obviously only cares about the money and not patients.

I had a large osteochondral defect in my ankle joint 8 years ago. I am very active with tennis and paddle and was sure I would never play again. I could only take very small steps and walking was becoming more difficult. Dr. Levine cleaned up the joint. I limped for maybe six months after (built up some scar tissue) and now rarely think about it. I went to the best person and the result was terrific.
