Dr. David A. Ochoa

At first I thought he was good, but he operated on my shoulder without an MRI and missed a torn apart tendon. If you need long term care this is not the place to go. And watch out for the different answers from every single person who works there. They have no follow up treatment plans. No more if you have to call 10 times for care, it’s too much.

I am 61 years old now and I have been seeing Doctor David Ochoa since my mid 20's. He is a no nonsense doctor, direct and to the point. He is kind, considerate, and will listen to you any time and will follow a good plan for symptomatic treatment from light to more aggressive if needed. He will use process of elimination if needed (ruling out), I just hope that I can find another good doctor like him when he decides to retire. Great Doctor

Yes I would and I have. My adult children and their children go to Dr. Ochoa as well. Dr. Ochoa has been my doctor for 25 years and he is the best doctor ever. I think some times when people are hurting they can be very rude. I know I use to work in the medical field. People should treat people how they would like to be treated would make this world a better place. Dr. Ochoa’s staff is wonderful, professional and very caring.

Not a very caring Doctor, doesn't listen to the patient,doesn't let you get a word in usually rambles on about nothing for about 3 min. visit and that's it, also the staff is just about unprofessional and rude. Definitely don't recommend this place unless you don't want proper care.

My husband & I have been seeing Dr Ochoa for over 20 years. He is efficient & knowledgeable. If you are looking for a no nonsense doctor Dr Ochoa is it.

He is a fantastic doctor we have been with him 28 years he even delivered me there is not a problem he cant fix

Dr. Ochoa is everything I don't want as a primary care physician. First of all, he invades your personal space during visits as he sits practically in your face. He speaks very loudly. My wife said she could hear him talking while she was in the waiting room. Most importantly, he is very dismissive and inpatient to your concerns, and opinions. He will override you immediately when you are trying to explain things and he is quick to lecture you as if you don't know yourself better than he does. I've called and left messages of major concerns with their answering service and never received a call back. I 've spoke to office staff with major concerns in which they say they will call you back and never do. Bottom line, I always feel worse after I leave his office than before I went in. Finding the right doctor is difficult. Dr. David Ochoa seems to have a large elderly clientele, so if you are below sixty and have a good sense of self, find someone else.

I don't understand how this Dr. is still in business! My husband's blood pressure was thru the roof a few weeks ago because he has been on the same prescription dosage for years and the doctor has never bothered to change his dosage or to take a closer look. DO NOT GO TO DR. OCHOA!! I have been a patient of his for almost 30 years. Back in the day, he cared about his patients, which is why I stuck with him as long as I did. My husband refused to go to him because the one time he did, he got nothing out of it. In the last few years, the only thing Dr. O cares about is the almighty dollar. I went in last year for my annual med check. My appointment was at 4:00 pm, but I fasted the entire day, just so I could get everything done at one time. At my appt, I mentioned a new pain in my arm. Because of that, I had to make a new appointment for my med check and they would not do my blood work. If I had known that, I wouldn't have mentioned my arm! Plus, after my copay, I was still charged an addition $100 for whatever. I agreed to 4 monthly payments to pay it off. They took out 2 additional payments that I did not authorize. Now, I do not have insurance and cannot afford a $250 bill, so I have not been in for my med check. He refuses to fill my thyroid medication. I have been on the same dosage for 15 years and it has never changed. And I am now completely without. I will never recommend him to anyone ever again. If you want a doctor that will listen to you, don't choose Ochoa. He interrupts often and even prescribed me the wrong thing when I made it very clear what I needed. I've had the same exact issue in the past and wanted to give it another chance after several years, and this doctor has proven he doesn't listen whatsoever. My mother has had the same issues. If you are looking for a doctor that is willing to listen to his patient, and who will bother to get back to patients when they have questions of immediate concern, KEEP ON LOOKING! ! My husband called Dr. Ochoa’s nurse when he started running seriously high blood sugars (400+) due to chemotherapy and steroids for pancreatic cancer, He not only called but after hearing nothing from the doctor after a couple of days he went to the clinic and pleaded in person for an answer to his high blood sugars. This doctor couldn’t be bothered to even have his nurse call him with an answer! My husband was completely ignored. Thank goodness his oncologist stepped up and took over. I wouldn’t advise anyone to see this guy. The only reason I even gave him one star is to leave this warning to others. I have trusted Dr. Ochoa with my healthcare needs for over 8 years and have always found him to be friendly and attentive--always taking the time to explain things so that they are easily understood. Furthermore, I respect his willingness to share his expertise to help prepare the next generation of physicians.

Terrible and unprofessional in all ways, as well as unknowledgeable with poor bedside manner. I come from a family of doctors and we were all shocked.

Had to change doctors because this guy stopped accepting united health care all of a sudden.....who loses patients due to health care insurance....kinda bad business practice. Oh well this guy didn't have the best knowledge or bedside manner to begin with but was close to home....would give him no stars if possible.

Have been here on several occasions but today takes the cake! We've been waiting for over an hour, haven't even seen the doctor yet, and no one has been in here to inform us about the doctor running behind. I've been in the medical profession for over 20 years and we would never treat our patients in this manner. I like the location as it is only 5 minutes from home but the time it takes to actually be seen seriously makes me want to reconsider finding a new physician. Decent doctor, got me in when I needed to. Not much wait, rushed through appointment. Prescribed some meds and had me come back for blood draw. The woman that does the blood draw is an absolute pro, no idea she even had the needle in my vein and she was done. Best Doctor out there

Dr. Ochoa has been amazing. He helped me to find my endocrinologist being a type 1 diabetic after years of seeing bad Dr. after bad Dr. the person he recommended has turn my life and provided amazing treatment. He is always very personal and has always found time for right away in emergencies. I know both he and his staff have stayed late in order to insure i was treated.

If you are African American avoid this guy. Every recent study shows African Americans are underdiagnosed especialy in the areas of pain management, which was confirmed on my last office visit. He failed to address the pain factor guess he thought I was superman with unlimited invulnerability.

I have seen Dr. Ochoa since he opened his practice in Live Oak. He is a excellent physician and anytime that I may have gone to a specialist they told me exactly the same thing as he did. Dr. Ochoa knows just about as much as any specialist out there and he is very knowledgable and also will refer you to a specialist in a heartbeat. I was in the hospital twice in May and he saw me daily. He called in a specialist that agreed with his diagnosis. Dr. Ochoa genuinely cares for his patients.
