Amazing Dr. Raab and his staff are the Best of the Best!! Would highly recommend. Nothing but professionals. Have been using them for my family for many years.
My daughter recommended me to see Dr Raab for my knees. I’ve been in pain for several weeks and his staff took the time to explain everything to me. His warm demeanor and kindness made me feel calm and cared for. He and Kelly removed fluid from my knee and I feel so much better. I couldn’t believe that they removed that much fluid when I asked to see the syringe. Thomas and Kelly made me feel very welcomed. My daughter recommended me to see Dr Raab for my knees. David Raab is always concerned for me as his patient, and he makes you feel like he is totally and only focused on your issues when in examination room. He offers good options and referrals as needed. I have been a patient for 15 years. He successfully performed an arthroscopic procedure on my right knee in 2009 and a bilateral knee replacement on 1/21/2011 - extremely successful! He has been available ever since whenever I've needed consult or referral for shoulder, back and hip. Totally trust and believe in his expertise. Dr Raab replaced both of my knees a couple of years apart. Very happy with my knees and the entire experience. I especially appreciate that Dr Raab pushes for going home over a rehab facility if at all possible, which was my preference (I have a ranch home and don’t live alone, so just two steps to maneuver into the house and help available if I needed it). Now I just see Dr Raab annually for monitoring of the implants. Dr Raab replaced both of my knees a couple of years apart. Very happy with my knees and the entire experience. Another good appointment with Dr. Raab. Got a shot in my knee for pain and swelling from arthritis. The shot was easy and helpful and pain is much better
I had surgery on my left knee December 14, 2021, to repair a ruptured Quadriceps muscle. Dr. Raab and Kelly gave me great advice, paid attention to me and answered all of my questions. I am recovering quickly and I start therapy soon. I also like greeting Lonnie at the entrance door and the friendly staff upstairs. Thank you all for your support, especially my new friend Kelly!! I'm very unhappy with the way you handled "our" appointment yesterday. You didn't even have the courage to turn down treating me ("you don't do revisions") face to face; you had your poor assistant do it. As it turned out, we could have come to the same conclusion over the phone without me leaving my apartment, dangerously scaling 2 flights of stairs and spending $65 in cab fare. There was absolutely no reason for me to even come there. And you knew it beforehand. That was just very wrong! I'm very unhappy with the way you handled "our" appointment yesterday. Dr Raab is the third specialist I have sought from the IBJI. He has analyzed my situation to my agreement and I look forward to proceeding under his care.
Doctor David Raab and the team did a fantastic job on my knee replacement. Not one step was missed. Great Orthopedic Surgeon.
First time meeting Dr. Raab. Totally made me feel at ease, easy to talk to. Explained everything and showed me the MRI on the computer. Gave me a few injections and barely felt them. Highly recommend him.
Thank you Dr. Raab and staff! I arrived limping, in pain, and incredibly depressed about the pain in my knee and leg, and my limited mobility. Dr. Raab and his assistant (I apologize for not making note of your name!) treated me sympathetically and cheerfully and provided medication and assurance that I would regain my mobility, lose the pain, and return to a more hopeful outlook. When I left, I was only part way there, but by late afternoon, I felt as though I could hop, skip, and jump along with the Easter Bunny. I will spare both myself and E.B. the embarrassment of that visual. I have had two such knee-pain occurrences in recent weeks after a lifetime of no such occurrences. It is daunting and discouraging, and it is truly eye-opening to me how pain takes over all aspects of a person's life and emotional well-being. And so I thank you again! I will follow through with the P.T. as you suggested ( as much as my insurance thinks I am worth), take the pills, and hope that I am approved for the human WD40 injection you suggested. Thanks to Dr. Fauci (who represents for me the entire medical and scientific establishment), I will be able to spend the holiday unmasked in the house with my brothers and sister with whom I have not been together in over a year. And thanks to Dr. Raab, I will be able to prepare for and thoroughly enjoy the holiday. Thank you science and those who put a sympathetic human face to it! Met with Dr. Raab, for first visit, and after taking a few x-rays, he reviewed them and quickly determined the problem with both my knees. He then immediately began treatment. Couldn't be happier.
Dr. Raab is an excellent surgeon and I highly recommend him. I have had meniscus surgery on each knee over the past two years and couldn't be happier. I trust him wholeheartedly... it is very reassuring knowing you are in such excellent hands.
Always so professional . They treat you as a person they can help & heal. I had the best experience with my 1st knee replacement ! Now my other knee is almost totally there . It was my first time seeing Dr. Raab. I was given different treatment options and had an opportunity to ask questions about my meniscus injury. Professional, caring, makes you feel better. Has very nice staff working with him.
I went to Dr. Raab for a second opinion since I already had surgery in May for a torn meniscus. Everyone at the office was pleasant. Dr. Raab got right to the point of what we needed to do. I needed a complete right knee replacement. It was scary but he assured me it would be worth it. He made me feel completely at ease. He went over my X-rays and explained the procedure. There was a lot of paperwork for both my insurance and short term disability and the staff walked me through it all. If I had a question, I could call and it was answered same day. The whole experience thus far has been exceptional. I would totally recommend Dr. Raab and his staff. I went to Dr. Raab for a second opinion since I already had surgery in May for a torn meniscus. Dr. Raab is the best! I tore my ACL skiing in January and had reconstruction surgery the end of February. Dr. Raab was professional, yet warm and reassuring. His easy nature and confidence made a scary knee injury much more pleasant. He knew exactly what was wrong with my knee and gave me simple treatment options from which to choose. He never pushed surgery, but once I decided that’s what I wanted to do he really made the whole process easy. It also helps that he has a great sense of humor. I don’t want to say knee surgery is fun, but with Dr. Raab it almost is! And the results have been amazing. This "doctor" is riddiculus. He made my ACL surgery but some time after something started to be wrong with my knee. When I showed him that my knee is completely unstable and weak he just said that he doesn't want to see me for next 6 months. Then another doctor found some post surgery problems because the first surgery wasn't made like it should be. Not recommended at all!
Dr. Raab was very kind and caring. He explained what was going on with my knees, etc. in a way I could understand. I really appreciate the time he took with me. His staff is very friendly and accommodating.

Dr. Raab replaced my left knee on 3/14 2016 after my initial sports meniscus tear in 1978. The Visionare system that he used and his expertise have allowed me to continue to play softball and all of the other sports that.I enjoy. Dr Raab is the best !

I've been a patient of Dr. Raab's off and on for the past 30+ years. I say off and on, because I only have occasion to see him when my knees "act up" or I have another physical issue. Today it was my shoulder. I can't say enough great things about him. He's personable, humorous, kind, caring, knowledgeable, and has an excellent bedside manner. In addition, I can't tell you how many people I know who are patients of his and rave about him. Quite simply, he's the best.

I endured knee pain for almost 10 years, the last 5 with an unloading brace that started with occasional use then became an every-day need. Dr. Raab had told me I would let him know when it was time. When I decided to go for the replacement he explained exactly what would happen, the day of surgery was very smooth, and they had me up and walking on the new knee within a few hours (probably not the norm). Recovery was as expected, the physical therapist kept pushing and I was walking somewhat nor

I've used Dr. Raab 2 times in 17 years for different knee injuries (ACL and Meniscus). He did such an amazing job the first time that I knew to use him the second time for a different knee injury. Amazing work both times!!! I would highly recommend him!

Met Dr. Raab 26 years ago. we were both young then. He performed ACL surgery on me and it went extremely well. After 36 years as a UPS driver, I needed a knee replacement. wife asked me if I was going to get a 2nd opinion.told her no because I trust him absolutely. Knee replacement also went very well. He's a real stickler about germs and that made me feel confident there would not be any complications. office visits used to run behind quite a bit but the last few years are much better.Great guy
Dr. Raab is an excellent orthopedic surgeon. He has done both of my knees and both surgeries were successful with no complications afterwards. He and his assistants are great with not only the appointments leading up to the surgery but the surgical day itself. I would highly recommend him to anyone needing surgery and if I had to have more surgery that he specializes in, I would go back to him with no hesitation.
Great surgeon, knowledgeable and professional....shaved off some torn cartilage in knee and now no problems!!!!

Dr. Raab performed an orthopedic procedure on my knee after an injury. I was able to obtain pain relief for routine activities. Due to bone on bone issues I may need to consider further treatment in the future. At that time I would not hesitate to contact Dr. Raab and I would not hesitate to recommend him to others.
Dr. Raab was amazing and did a fantastic job with my surgery. I never felt pain after the surgery, only discomfort. I followed his instructions and my outcome was excellent. I continually recommend him to everyone I know.

After all else failed, Dr. Raab's total knee replacement worked on both knees. He and his staff kept me on my feet, so to speak. I'm 67 years young and still can do yardwork, climb ladders, shovel snow and work on my old Chevys. I can even still hit a baseball. Thank you!!
Very knowledgeable, professional yet extremely personable. He knows his stuff. Very helpful to me for my knee issues. I highly recommend him to anyone.

Dr. Raab replaced my knee and hip. I have had great progress under his care. Dr. isn't much for wasting time. He is direct and down to earth. I liked him more and more each time I went to see him. He had a family activity and asked if I minded that he did not come that day to see me in the hospital. I told him "No problem." He ended up coming to see me anyhow and I appreciated his dedication to me as a patient.
Great work on my knee.

I unfortunately had to have both knee and shoulder surgery. I was very fortunate in having Dr. Raab as my surgeon for both surgeries. Dr Raab and his staff provided excellent care both pre and post surgery. Most importantly, the surgeries were a complete success. After living in pain for many years, I now have complete function of both my shoulder and knee. Dr Raab is an extremely knowledgable, skilled and caring physician. What is the most impressive of Dr. Raab is the number of other physician
3 successful knee surgeries by Dr. Raab have allowed me to maintain an active lifestyle.
Dr Raab was great. Very intelligent surgeon with a personality. I blew out my MCL on a Sat. evening, he saw me Mon. morning. Unlike most surgeons who like to cut everything, he recommended rehabilitation...he was right! I was able to recover with just rehab. 2 years later I was having issues with my other knee...old college sports injury. This one required surgery. Dr Raab was able to get me in relatively. Surgery was quick and effective. Easy recovery, no pain. Highly recommended!!!
Dr Raab and his staff did an awesome job on both of my TKR surgeries. Made me feel like a human being. Unlike some other Dr.'s I have seen.
Absolutely. Fantastic results on arthroscopic surgery on left knee.
I had my knee replaced a year ago this month. I had bone on bone and my leg bowed out severely. I had a lot of pain and was very unstable. Now my leg is straight as an arrow and no pain. I still have stiffness and my leg is numb on the side of the incision. I would say that talking to several friends who recently had knees replaced by other surgeons, they were twilighted and given a spinal epidural and had less initial pain than I did.
I have gone to Dr. Raab for over 15 years. In my opinion, there is no one better for knee problems and surgery. He has scoped both of my knees, and I have returned to 100% functionality. His knowledge of knee anatomy and function is unparalleled. I would give him my highest recommendation.

I spent many years limping along and always wearing elastic knee braces. Almost every few months my knee would buckle and it would take a month to recoup. Dr. Raab replaced my knee about 6 months ago and it has changed my life. I am no longer worried about my knee and I go hiking with my camera gear all the time now
Very pleased with the care I've received from Dr. Raab. He has performed arthroscopic surgery on both of my knees. Follow up and recovery was excellent. I never felt rushed during appointments as others have mentioned. Office staff was great at facilitating appointments and dealing with insurance issues.
Between July 2012 and July 2016, Dr. Raab has performed both total knee replacements and left hip replacement successfully. My results were excellent. His staff, Kathy and Kelly were also outstanding. Per their advise, I worked hard in physical therapy which made my outcomes successful. I have recommended Dr. Raab to anyone who may be a candidate of this procedure
I have been a patient of Dr Raab for 20 years. I have had a successful knee replacement and he will be doing my other knee in the near future. His staff is awesome and always able to assist.

I've had both my knees replaced by Dr Raab. The first 13 years ago, the other knee 6 months ago. Dr. Raab did a great job. I wouldn't have returned if i thought other wise. I've read a few of the reviews before writing my own. Dr Raab is a busy man. He spends enough time to make his diagnosis and answer questions. Recover doesn't end after surgery. It goes on for the rest of life
I have had Dr. Raab work on both of my knees, in about 5 years. He is fabulous. I am in a very unique profession and he has consistently shown me the attention I need, both my body and schedule. He knows his craft better than ANYONE I have ever been scheduled with. Dr. Raab has extended my career by at least 10 years. Thank you so much!!
Have known Dr. Raab(Illinois Bone & Joint Inst) a long time. He has treated my arthritis, repaired my achilles tendon, scoped both knees, and did a full hip replacement. All surgeries went exceptionally well with virtually very little pain. I followed his post - op advice and went through rehab physical therapy to the letter. I now can play basketball with my grandsons. We have a great rapport and he has a great bedside manner. After each surgery he took the time to visit with my wife.
I was in pain for over a year. Thought it was sciatica. Went to Dr. Raab for answers, he discovered I had no socket left to my right hip. He did a total right hip replacement. After therapy for six weeks, I am much better.

I would leave no stars if I could. He has terrible bedside manner. Wouldn't listen to a word I said. Didn't review previous x rays. Told me to help myself by losing weight and then he would consult with me and was texting his daughter during our 5 minutes together. My bill is for 350. For what? Contesting with BCBS. He shouldn't get a penny. STAY AWAY FROM HIM.
I would NOT recommend him. He spends no time with patients. He doesn't let you explain how the injury happened or ask any questions. He finishes the appointment as he's walking out the door not even letting you ask a question. He rushes you and doesn't describe injury at all. He assumed I had a fracture when the nurse told him I had a stress reaction before I even had a chance to show him the MRI and the report and when several doctors said I didn't.
