About David R Simpson
Reviews for David R Simpson
Unfriendly staff and environment. Mismanaged practice. Can't speak to anyone when there are issues they blow you off... you're just another number
This was a follow up to hip injections…saw his PA Dr Mike…great guy with a caring manner…hip injections work tremendously well for me so I then complained of knee soreness…within 10 minutes, I had a knee injection right there in the exam room and I was on my way…so glad to have found this practice and would highly recommend you do too!
always makes you feel His staff is also professional
Dr Simpson,Dr Morsh and Marsha took care of me like family. Make X-ray tech is awesome. They all have great energy and are very informative. I’m sure ALL is just as amazing. Thanks !
His staff is always very helpful. And take their time with me. His PA Rick is very knowledgeable in what he does. So if Dr Simpson is busy with another client. I am always happy to see his PA. I will be happy to recommend anyone looking for an orthopedic surgeon to visit Dr Simpson office.
Would never recommend this doctor for anything has an attitude when he is wrong, and he knows it
does Dr.Simpson do hand and wrist surgery?
Explains your problem, deals with the pain and follows up after treatment. Professional and personable.
I was fortunate to be able to see the Doctor’s team on short notice to drain my swollen knee. They took excellent care of me.
Dr.Simpson is warm and friendly. Makes me feel at ease. Talks with not at you. Gives details/options for the condition.
It was great. He is one of the best doctors I have ever had and I have quite a few. One nice point of the visit was they moved me along quite nicely from X-ray to exam to treatment. I will gladly return.
Visit was on time and Dr. Simpson was informative and professional. Makes you feel at ease.
Dr. Simpson was so sweet, caring, compassionate and very clear on treatment path options for my 82 year old auntie. She was a little fearful of what was to become of her bad hip but Dr. Simpson treated her with such kind clarity that she’s actually excited for her procedure! Thank you Dr. Simpson and the awesome staff at this clinic! Maxine Pierson & Niece- Christine
Excellent Doctor very thorough and caring.
Always made feel comfortable and very informative
My visit was excellent. They are knowledgeable and tried to help me find the best treatment. Front desk lady was very helpful and efficient.

Dr. David Simpson and his staff in the Boynton Beach location have been great. Professional, helpful and the office is clean! I have an elbow issue and once I was explained what the problem was, I was able to make adjustments and this expertise helped me, a lot!
While the office was quite crowded when I saw Dr. Simpson I didn't feel rushed at all when he examined me. He was thorough and compassionate. Others before me wrote horror reviews about the staff, but I found them to be quite buttoned up and pleasant.
I have been a patient of Dr Simpsons for several years and he has performed 3 hip arthroscopies and one shoulder arthroscopy. Dr Simpson is not quick to operate unless surgery is indicated. He takes his time to explain the problem and options and thoroughly answers any questions. Dr Simpson can sometimes sound abrupt, but he tells you like it is. No candy coating.. He has been described in other reviews as not having a very good bedside manner. Are you looking for a husband or an outstanding orthopedic surgeon??? Dr Simson is compassionate, caring, and an excellent surgeon!!!
THIS GUY IS SO UNPROFFESSIONAL. USES FOUL LAUNGUAGE WHILE IN THE ROOM WITH YOU. DOESNT CARE ABOUT YOU ONE BIT. I TOLD HIM ABOUT AN ISSUE WITH A REFFERAL I HAD WITH HIS OFFICE. I WAS TOLD BY HIS OFFICE THEY DIDNT HAVE MY REFFERAL BUT THEY DID. I TRIED TO TELL DR. SIMPSON ABOUT IT AND HE SAID SO WHAT! IF YOU HAVE A MEDICAL ISSUE YOU WANT TO TALK ABOUT FINE , IF NOT YOU CAN LEAVE.
way overcharged. went as a recommendation. never seen Doc, but had visit with the PA who was ok. the staff is rude and no follow through. Called to set up follow up appts but no answer and no call back after two week. sent emails and proof that i called after they accused me of calling wrong number. they dismiss it and denied ever getting any calls or messages. one i can get but 5 messages over two weeks to correct phone numbers. If i cant rely on them to schedule an appointment or follow up i dont want them sticking needles or being in charge of my medical care. way overcharged. went as a recommendation. never seen Doc, but had visit with the PA who was ok. the staff is rude and no follow through. Called to set up follow up appts but no answer and no call back after two week. sent emails and … More
This guy is a hack not a doctor. His staff are the worst. My wife was humiliated, insulted and then berated for questioning the horrible experience. She came home very upset snd when I called to complain I was treated the same and then hung up on.
Doctor Simpson was amazing! He has I am very funny bedside manner but when it comes to surgery he was serious and thought. Recovery was fast.
takes time to explain fully
I went to this doctor after looking through the reviews. Well, first I NEVER saw the doctor and they only took an X-ray and suddenly I need a new hip or I need a steroid injection. All this from an X-ray?? Also, they charged me over $30 more than my plan would pay. I’ve called many times and still no return call. I will be calling my credit card company to reverse the payment. I’ve been doing stretch exercises for my hip and that has helped, pain is almost gone and I can walk. SMH ????? How they immediately just want to replace a body part. I would never recommend.
My husband went to go see Dr. Simpson for the first time today. He has been having on going issues and he was referred to him by his Orthopedic. He had the worst bed side manner. How are you a physician that is not willing to hear your whole history and what you as a patient have had reactions to. I've worked in the medical field for many years and it's sad to hear doctors are quick to want to inject you without listening. Truly disappointed and would not recommend this doctor at all. I wouldn't want anyone else to feel the way he made my husband feel. This website should have a choice for no stars but it won't let me write this experience without a star.
I find Dr. Simpson and the nurse assistants to all be friendly, caring and attentive. So far I have seen him for arthritic knee and hip bursitis. He is very competent And I felt completely comfortable with his treatment and my improvement. I do wish the office would screen for COVID and block off seats, restrict people coming into the office. They did not give a medical questionnaire or take my temperature. There are no signs in the office to maintain distance. I was at the Boyton Beach office which could use a little updating.
I brought my mother to this doctors office and it was a disaster. We left 4messages on Friday another 2on Monday finally saw him and he told my mother she needs shoulder surgery but she would not make it off the table this is what you tell a patient that just survived breast cancer terrible person no bedside manner won’t be back
This guy (I wouldn't call him Dr.) got in the room with not eye contact and it was angry with me for no reason. My first appointment, never been there. I told about my pain in a knee. Never said something about look possibilities for the pain, so I had to ask him to measure my legs because my mother has a terrible pain in a knee for this reason. He says" So...what do you want me to do for you? !!!He is the doctor!!! He suppose to know what to do! He said if you have a pain again go back to your family doctor. because I do not see nothing, (Of course ... it happen only when I walk a lot, and I am avoiding it to avoid the pain.) Again I asked really if I got pain in the knee what's to do. He answered "You got to live with it" ..."I am 56 and you 58 and we start to feel pain". Again never have seen this person before in my life. It was surreal. Zero stars. This guy (I wouldn't call him Dr.) got in the room with not eye contact and it was angry with me for no reason. My first appointment, never been there. I told about my pain in a knee. Never said something about look possibilities … More
this so called doctor told my aunt who is 77 years young that if he did surgery on her shoulder she would not survive the procedure. what kind of crazy dr would say this to a healthy person. all she needs is shoulder surgery. This is not a life threatening procedure. He should have his license revoked.
Great doctor. Great doctor's assistant. SURLY and RUDE front office staff. They act like they are doing you a favor by talking to you. Too bad because Dr. Simpson is a wonderful and caring doctor.
He is great the front office staff is surly and rude
Dr Simpson saw my 75 year old husband who is in great shape except for a painful shoulder. The Doc was a bit abrupt, but made it clear that the xrays and MRI disclosed a VERY large rotator cuff tear that could be fixed successfully with state of the art methods. It would be a painful recovery and require a sling for 6 weeks. The 1st 2 weeks were very painful, but after 6 weeks the shoulder is almost healed and he needed a few Tylenols during rehab.. We found Dr Simpson to be a HIGHLY SKILLED SURGEON with lots of experience and the staff is competent. We would have given 5 stars, but yes, his bedside manner could use improvement. I highly recommend him for shoulder problems. He won't operate if he can't achieve good results for his patients. My husband said he wanted a shoulder fix, not marriage.
This is about his front office staff. My mother needs to determine whether cancer has spread to her bones & he sent her to get an MRI. Her insurance company requested the records from his office & we followed the paper trail to his office which has the record. A week after the request was made, we went to his office after at least 2 attempts to call Dr. Simpson's office to get the medical record sent. The first woman we met was wearing headphones & gave the expression that I was bothering her. The next woman I dealt with similarly lacked empathy. She told us she had never received the request for the notes & was giving us the physical record to take to DCA. I pointed out to her that my mother was wearing a heart monitor, was at risk of a stroke, & that we went to get it done but were turned away once because the medical notes were not received, & asked if she would fax. She continued to lack empathy. Her first response should have been to fax to DCA Empathy in medicine is required.
Anyone leaving a positive review of this Doctor, in my opinion is a fake review! Doctor Simpson had no interest or concern for the pain I was in even though I had an MRI which revealed 2 tears in the shoulder. He would not even look me in the eye and just proclaimed I should not be in that much pain from these tears as they are relatively small. He further stated there was nothing he can do, and I should just go get a second opinion. I had a second and a third opinion and both of them diagnosed me as needing surgery as well as having "frozen shoulder" which compounded the need for surgery. Both of the other Doctors proclaimed there is no reason for me to have to live in pain and both had a level of sympathy, empathy and concern that Dr. Simpson simply does not have.
Horrible office!
I brought my mother to this doctors office and it was a disaster. Dr. Simpson is the best! He explained everything that would happen from the time I arrived at the surgical center, until the time I arrived back home. I was quite nervous going in, but after he explained everything, I trusted him 100%. He was always very nice, but most important, he is a very talented surgeon. I had my rotor cuff surgery 12/27/18, and finished with therapy at the beginning of March 2019. I feel great!! Thank you Dr. Simpson!
His main concern is about getting paid and not patient care. He's not very nice to his staff which tells alot about someone.
Saw Dr. David Simpson for a consult regarding ACL surgery. He was very thorough and attentive. He was extremely nice and professional. Answered all of my questions/concerns; he went over several medical records without hesitation and spent enough time with me. I would recommend Dr. Simpson.

Dr. Simpson performed surgery on my knee to repair a torn meniscus. He and his team did an excellent job with the surgery and the post-op follow-up. I have no reservations in recommending him and can attest to his professionalism, dedication, and courtesy.
Terrible doctor. I dislocated my shoulder twice. This second time he said that the emergency room doctor and the radiologist are morons and can’t do there job. He didn’t even look at X-ray from hospital. Has a bad temper when you question his diagnosis. Never a wait to see him, I always wondered why there was only one other person in waiting room every time I went. His ego is more important. Do yourself a favor go somewhere else.

I want to thank Doctor D Simpson for his excellent job for his time and for his help. I was worried about going to see the Doctor, but ones I was there I was at ease his staff Rachel and everyone else was very keeping informed and proving awesome care to me. I thank Y’all for everything... MAgosto
My father had a surgery on 12/1/17 by Dr. Simpson at Bethesda Hospital. I could have not ask for a better surgeon for my father. he really did a good job and also a very caring doctor. If I would ever have to have a surgery I would choose to have it done by Dr. Simpson.

I broke my hip. I went to Bethesda East ER and was assigned to Dr. Simpson. Dr. Simpson took time to explain where the fracture was, and what options were available. Decided that a replacement 'neck and ball' was the best option for me. Dr. Simpson's staff in the OR was phenomenal as was the surgery. I was walking in less than 12 hours. Dr. Simpson had daily positive follow ups. The office staff was truly caring. I would 110% recommend Dr. Simpson and his staff to anyone needing Orthopedic care.
I just saw Dr Simpson this week. I found the office staff, his assistant and the doctor to be cordial and informative. The doctor told me what he found in my x-rays and exam and what were the best options. He described what he was doing before he did it. I don't understand the negative reviews. My experience was extremely positive.
Dr. Simpson did a shoulder replacement 2/4/17. He could not have been more caring. He answered any questions my family and I had. I would highly recommend him.
Dr. Simpson did my arthroscopic hip surgery to repair my torn labrum. I am a young professional athlete with a high impact on my hips so it was imperative for me that this surgery was performed well. Today, I am 9 months post op and at this point my hip is perfect! He may not have the best bed side manner, but that isn't important to me. What is important are his skills and experience as a surgeon and they are spectacular. I recommend Dr. Simpson to all of my sports colleagues, he's that good.

Dr.Simpson & his staff were so friendly the 1st visit BUT on 2nd visit he was not only mean to me when he walked in & said "Why are you here? I told you I would never operate on your metal prong that broke off a piton anchor ."My initial surgery was 6 years prior with Pedro Piza who I didn't want to go back to & didn't sue. While waiting to pay my copay he started yelling at 2 different girls in front of me.The metal prong that broke off had nothing to do with what Piza did to me.I was crushed !!

Met Dr Simpson for the first time last week and liked him immediately. Went back today for my pre-op appt and liked him even more. He answered every question I had. Spent a lot of time with me and did not make me feel rushed at all. He put my mind at ease and I have so much confidence in him. His staff is great. They are all friendly and smile, which is a plus. I highly recommend him!!!

This was the worst experience with a doctor ever! He is degrading and a pompous jerk. Please read other reviews and know they are true. Anyone who respected this man's opinion has to be paid off. The worst part is his staff is just as unprofessional. Has no respect for others! Since I already had a surgery by another workmans comp Dr he said he could not help me. Told me my knee was not swollen and then said it was inflamed.

Everyone in the office is so friendly and call you by name and hugs you hello. They must make notes about personal comments you make because both the PA and the doctor asked specific question about how things were going. They tend to be on time and still manage to treat me like I was their only patient. Nobody likes going to the doctor, but Dr Simpson is a dr I don't mind going to.
Dr. Simpson is the reason my 16 year son felt comfortable having ACL Surgery. Surgery was at the end of October 2015. Today.....my son is back on the ice with full use of his knee! Dr. Simpson's bedside manner and professionalism during appointments....excellent!!

Dr. Simpson may not have the bed-side manner many that downgraded him wanted. He doesn't sugar-coat and as a Biology major I don't want sugar coating; I am going to a doctor for honesty. All I can say is I had a totally blown out labrum and he fixed it. I didn't even need to take any of my pain meds. I was out of my sling within 8 days and back in the gym under 12 weeks. The only lingering thing about the surgery is a couple hard to see scars...my shoulder is perfect.
