He makes it very clear he could care less. ZERO compassion or bedside manner. He’s popular because there are few psychiatrists in the area. He IS open to suggestions in medications. Be clear - he is a psycho-pharmacologist. Not a therapist. Also nearly impossible to reach staff if you need help.

Horrible horrible. He goes out of his way to make you feel inferior. Doesn't listen, doesn't engage. It's not in his nature to care about his patients. This man misdiagnosed me so badly with a diagnosis that was never ever in my diagnosis. But he can't be bothered to read the chart. He affected my life for years with such an egregious misdiagnosis. Never ever saw him after being in the hospital even after I was still his patient. Dangerous and supremely arrogant.

I find this Dr very rude, cold, and not engaging. He prescribes meds like candy without really listening to concerns. Does not explain why the meds are prescribed or what to expect. You are rushed in and out because he stacks one appt after another. My question is what can he truly learn about a patient with a questionnaire that you fill out each apt and sit and talk to him for at most 5 minutes. You get the feeling he is just doing a job to get though the day……like he has job burnout.

My son was mandated by Hennepin Co. to have a Psych & IQ testing to insure he still qualified for benefits as he is mentally handicapped. I mailed the counties requirement for testing to Associated and talked to them when scheduling the appointment about what we needed. The appt. was made with Dr. Knudson. Dr. Knudson was extremely rude to me and my son. He never made eye contact, was cold and didn’t interact with my son at all. Dr. Knudson said he couldn’t do anything with him as he was screaming. My son was whining & upset. He also said he wasn’t qualified to do the testing we required. Why were we scheduled with him? None of what he was asking had anything to do with why we were there. Dr. Knudson’s report was filled with inaccurate information, he said my son was mute. This was a huge waste of time and taxpayer money. The office staff was’t helpful and they DO NOT have a handicapped entrance, no one offers to hold the door for a wheelchair. Avoid this place!!

Very disappointing. Dr. Knudson left his last position with another group and we, his patients are the ones that suffered. We got put in the middle of his departure which resulted in NO CARE for us, his patients. It was a very bad and negative experience for me as his patient. Basically, I was left without any care and ZERO medication refills. Thankfully my personal MD prescribed the medications I needed. Knutson never should have left us in that position esp when we have mental health concerns.

My daughter has had ongoing mental health issues since she was 12. She is now 26. Dr. K is the first psychiatrist that has helped her. She is finally on a good mix of meds and is very stable.
