HORRIBLE experience, it was supposed to be my daughter’s first dentist visit but I declined service for several reasons. First I got a call saying to be there 30 minutes prior to fill out paperwork which fine. So my daughter appointment was at 9, we got there at 8:30 and was done filling out the paperwork before 9. The front desk clerk was NOT friendly at all which made me change my vibe. Okay so she then mentions that they’re understaffed so wait time maybe a little longer, okay fine but here we are 10 am and still haven’t been seen, my 2 yr old is agitated and hungry bc we didn’t get breakfast because I wasn’t informed over the phone that the wait time was extra lengthy. I go in the building to ask the front desk clerk if she could tell me anything on our wait time being that it was already an hr pass her appointment time and she get rude and says “as I stated to you in the beginning we are short staff and we are dealing with little kids and if you leave you’ll lose your spot” so I ask can you tell me how long more we’ll have to wait and she’s still being rude and wouldn’t tell me, I asked well why wouldn’t you mention the extra wait time and short staffed when you called me about being 30 mins early for an appointment that would take me hr to be seen, I could’ve prepared and bring snacks, her response “ we don’t mention that on the phone…. Oh really yea I’ll never go there again and wouldn’t recommend, didn’t even get a kid friendly environment

My daughter had surgery for her tooth by Ashcraft and it went very well amazing work done and special care to my daughter...I thank her so much..

My grand daughter was told she had 5 cavities, on second opinion she had none. The office would not release her records to the new dentist. I was also asked to sign a waiver for insurance stating I would not approve my grand daughters care. Would also like to mention that my grand daughter has been going to a dentist since she was 3. This is the first time ever she mentioned being in pain from a cleaning. She stated they hurt her. The office also suggested gas and melatonin prior to her next procedure. It seems all the complaints are the same. Sorry but my grand daughter will never be seen at this office again. When I asked to speak with Dr Ashcraft during our visit, I got a very rude response.

Wonderful and caring staff! I don't know where we would be without them.

Dr Ashcraft and the staff are excellent. They do a great job at welcoming nervous kiddos with comforting smiles!

They have been great with my girl. She's 11 and has been seeing dr Ashcraft since she was 7. Very kid friendly.

Our first appointment was amazing! We haven’t had the best experiences with dentist but Dr. Ashcraft and her staff were very informative with every step! She used to papoose my sister and I at every appointment. My mom quit taking us here after my sister came out with Dr. Ashcraft’s handprint on her leg. Beware of this dentist!!! My husband was told that my 4 year old child would have to go back and be strapped into a papoose by herself. He was not comfortable with that, because our daughter is terrified of the dentist, she has seperation anxiety & she is claustraphobic. So he explained that to them & was told to find a different dentist. Im sorry, but forcing a 4 year old child into a papoose & seperating them from their only advocate to pull out a tooth is insane. Its like they don't care if they traumatize children. The fact that she told my husband to find a different dentist all because he was raising some concerns for our daughter's care is showing a ton of red flags. And i will also mention that he heard another child screaming out of pain in the room over and dr. Ashcrafts response to that was that he needed to learn to control himself and hold it together. The first visit for my 3 year old was great but at her recent second visit, we had an 8:30am appt and did not get seen until after 10:30. You can't wait in the lobby, you have to wait in your car. The day we were there it was cold outside so we couldn't be outside so I had my 3 year old in my car for 2 hours trying to keep her entertained. I was told they were short staffed but after reading all these reviews, sounds like they've been "short staffed" for over 6 years. I didn't have any issues with Dr. Ashcraft herself or any staff really but when I was told my 3 yr old needed 3 cavities filled, would be given nitrous, that papoose thing was going to be put on her AND that she would be going through all this alone without me in there, that's when I started to feel like this might not be the best fit for us. The other reviewers are right and the shear amount of screaming kids and kids walking out with bloody gauze in their mouth is unnerving. Great communication with staff and we all shared a few laughs which is something I think we can all use just to keep the bad days at bay

I love Dr. Ashcraft!!! She is awesome! She did my teeth as a child and also my brothers. She is really good with kids, her staff is awesome and it usually doesn't take that long for a visit!

Is sad to read comments so rude from mothers who probably can't even control their own children and expect to someone else to do it. My son has been attending this office from his first time, he is turning 15 soon and we LOVE THE WHOLE STAFF !!!!, so my recommendation is if you are not happy with the service just go somewhere else but don't ruin the reputation of a hard worker people like them ????. DO NOT GO HERE. I was 13 or so years old and I went in to have a cavity filled. They numbed me with needles, but when Deborah Ashcraft went to fill the cavity she accidently hit a nerve and so instinctively I jerked my head a little. Her response was incredibly rude saying "if your filling is messed up its your fault". I told her she hurt me, and she couldn't care less and proceeded to rush the procedure and have a horrible attitude. Assuming yall are using Medicaid insurance GO TO CRESTVIEW DENTAL. They are not far away, in clearwater and the entire staff is great including the dentist. They don't see children under 6, so if you have younger children you will need to go elsewhere just DONT GO HERE. They separate the children from their parents so the children will "behave better" which may be the case in some instances but for me it was uncomfortable and I will NOT let my own go through that. My Daughter has been a patient of Dr. Ashcraft for over 18 years and we have always had a pleasant experience. She takes her time with each patient and sometimes there may be a wait, but I know she does a great job. Her staff is very knowledgeable and caring.

I went here when I was a child, many years ago. I was terrified without my mother and surrounded by dental workers. I am sensitive to sounds so when they started working on me, I freaked out. My mom said she heard me screaming and forced her way to the back. When she found me, I was strapped down and visibly upset. Never went back. Strapping down scared kids will not calm them down. I went to this dentist when I was 4 years old and I remember her strapping me down and my grandmother wasn't allowed to be present. She had an assistant with her, I was strapped down to the table and told that all my teeth would be removed if I didn't stop crying and "that's what I get for not brushing them". I remember fading out and when I woke up ALL of my teeth were gone, save for my two canines on top... I had to go to school like that and I got bullied for it everyday. I now have serious dental problems and all of my teeth grow in a way that I'll need to have them removed and get dentures soon. was going to add another review, however all Google lets you do is edit what you have. My son ended up at Dr Ashcraft's office after a horrifying experience with Augusta Small Smiles. They pulled my son's tooth while he could still feel it. After deciding I'd rather not wear orange, we decided to use Dr Ashcraft. I've never been so pleased with a dentist in my life. We began going when my son was 4, needless to say we still go every 6 months and now my 2 year old daughter is her patient as well. She is literally the best. Sometimes we have a longer wait time, but as a mom of two, who am I to ever expect our dentist to be on OUR time. She's absolutely not. I feel like some of these reviews are so petty. People truly have lost their human decency and it shows. Thank you Dr. Ashcraft for always having my kids best interests as heart! This mom greatly appreciates it!

As a former employee of Dr. Ashcraft, I recommend that you find another pediatric dentist. I worked for her over 15 years ago, and am surprised to see that nothing has been learned from past mistakes. She would forbid parents to the back with their children because she was using "hand-over-mouth" technique. She would play the music loud so that parents couldnt hear their kids. I never took my children to a place where I couldnt be right there if they needed me. This review isn't to cause harm to her but to inform parents and maybe to provide her with a wake up call to change. I would like to start with the wait time we waited for about 2 hours we came at 1:40 and had an apt for around 2 we waited until 4. I remember while waiting a young male went to the back with a staff member and I had to use the bathroom I tried to open the door but it looked behind them. The receptionist has a button that they can push for the door to be unlocked and locked. When I finally received service she performed an X-ray and did the normal cleaning she has very rough when using on of the tools. I then was told I had 12 cavities my brother that used to eat candy all the time hasn’t even had that many at the same time. They then preceded to talk with my mother and when she asked for a view of where the cavities were we were denied a visual of it. I also in the room saw restraints and other methods of holding a child down. Also when in the back where the service is performed you can here the screams of other young children. As an 11 year old I don’t think that you should bring your child here. I hope this opinion helps I don’t advise a visit to this dentistry. I can't say enough wonderful things about Dr.Ashcraft and her staff. They have all been so wonderful in some of the most stressful times for my children. Thank you to Dr.Ashcraft and all of your staff!!! *Btw* LOVEEE the office theme.

I would not recommend anyone to bring their kids to this place. Deborah Ashcraft is only about money and not about the kids, she always trying to find something wrong with your kids teeth just to make money, this place is terrible, She cares only about her animals!!!!

You have to stay quiet and listen to them. I was going there awhile with my disabled child, and the day I questioned her examination on my daughter, I was called by her staff that she will no longer be a patient at her office. I wish I could give this place zero stars!!! This place is horrible and I wish no one would ever take their children here it will scar them for life. At first I thought this would be a good place because they were open early which is good for working parents so I had an appointment at 7:30 in the morning but for some reason wasn’t seen till almost lunch time and this was not a one time things this happened at every appointment repeatedly. I’m sorry even I as an adult had a hard time being patient imagine how the children feel. Seems like dr Ashcraft overbooks maybe in hopes to make more money. On the first appointment I was able to go back with my children only because at the time they were real young and everything was good the staff was friendly but I will say for a pediatric dentist they didn’t really seem to connect with my kids. After that appointment I was no longer allowed to walk back with my kids which I did not like because my child would always come out crying and I’m sorry if you are in pediatrics you should be good with kids and brushing their teeth should not cause them any fear. Also dr ashcraft stated my child’s teeth were to close together and she was going to create a small space because if their was ever a cavity it would cause her to have to remove the teeth because they would be to small for her to try to fix. Once she created the space you could barely tell it had been done which I was happy about but then after the next few months his teeth stated to discolor and turn a grey color. I made an appointment with dr ashcraft and she said my child must have fell or injured his mouth I consulted with another dentist because I was already irritated and was told that was not the case. What happened is when she was creating the space in my child’s teeth it did something to the nerves which was not able to be repaired so my child had to have his teeth prematurely removed and it took 3 years for new ones to come in. Also after leaving this dentist I spoke with the staff there and finally found out why my child would always cry because they would use a pappose parents if you are unaware of what this is it is basically a straight jacket. This may be normal for some dentist to use this but I refuse to ever let anyone do this to my child again I am happy to say I have found a GREAT dentist who is GREAT with my children but my child will forever be horrified from what dr ashcraft and staff put my child through. It has taken us a long time to get to we’re we are today. I hope my experience saves someone from not having to go through everything I went through. Just amazing words do not explain when your child can smile again. The wait is worth it, the early morning appointments because she is fitting your child in where there is really no appointment available. Dr Ashcraft went above and beyond in ways that no one else would to help my little boy.

Dr. Ashcraft is an amazing Pediatric dentist. I have been a patient of Dr. Ashcraft since I was 2 years old. She is absolutely great with the children. She makes them feel comfortable to go to the dentist. If anyone is like me, I did not like going to the dentist when I was younger. Her staff is well trained and efficient. Their communication on changes in treatment and also treatment concerns are professionally communicated with parents. If there was an option for 0 stars, I'd put that. Was forced to swap to Ashcraft's office by insurance company. She diagnosed our 5 year old with 3 cavities. Paid out of pocket to get a second opinion because she's never had cavities before and the second dentist found NO CAVITIES. Ashcraft pushed us to do an unnecessary procedure and place our kid in restraints. Would rather pay hundreds out of pocket to see literally anyone else. Will not be going back.

Very poor service. My daughter has teeth pull that shouldn’t have. She has been afraid of dental visits since we visited this place a couple years ago. They don’t allow parents in the back with the children. Uses restraints to hold children down like animals. Definitely wouldn’t recommend

Terrible experience with her years ago. Not a place you want to use unless you want your child terrified for life. After hearing horror stories I was reluctant but willing to give her a try due to convenient location. When it was time for my daughter to go back, I wanted to meet the dentist and walk her back there but I was told I couldn’t meet her until after my daughter was seen. There was no way I was sending my daughter off to a stranger that I had never spoken to before. I even told them that I would step out after I met her and help my daughter feel comfortable by walking her back there and “introducing” them and they refused. We ended up using a pediatric dentist in Aiken. All of my kids LOVE him and he no problem letting me walk her back and introducing himself. My daughter came in today an had an great exam experience from the assistant Ashley. She was very polite and nice and made my daughter feel very comfortable and relaxed. Thank you Ms. Ashley.

Based on my experience, I find this practice to be competent, diligent, and professional. The staff is great, and Dr. Ashcraft is direct and to the point which helps to simplify the care rendered. I feel like my kids are in good hands here because the practice takes what they do seriously. For my son to walk out smiling with a thumbs up after I knew he cried speaks volumes. I was really surprised to see how many times the staff had to run around the building and property looking for parents/guardians though. You can tell they run a tight ship, so when a child's caregiver wanders off when they need them, what a waste of time. My son had a sudden toothache, followed by swelling. We searched for hours trying to find a dentist that was open and would see him. We finally found Dr. Ashcraft. They created him an appointment. My son was worried because he hasn’t had the best experiences before with dentist. I will say that my sons visit with this office was absolutely amazing. They were so caring towards him and took immediate action. Afterwards my son told me that he really liked that dentist. As a mom that means so much to me. I keep their appointments two children at a time so I would have to make so many trips from Augusta to South Carolina. I have bragged on how good this dentist has been to many people. And those I have brag to have bring their children here. But I think this was very premature of me to give so many good ratings to other about this dentist. Four of my children have appointments coming up and the ones I took today I got treatment mixed up. So being that I feed my children thinking they were only here for a cleaning now they want me to bring them in separately. Mind you these two children have had five different treatment appointments in the past three months and I never made this mix up until today. Because my other children's appointment is right around the corner. I am looking for another dentist that will accommodate our needs and I will be going to the medical board.

I took my 5 YO twins to the office in June. We had the first appt at 7:30 for an exam. It took over 3 hours for them before they were finished. I was not allowed back with them. When I finally went back, my children had clearly been crying, I was told my boy had 6 cavities, my girl had 4 and they would need fillings, crowns and possibly surgery. I informed them I would be getting a second opinion as my kids had never had any issues at their previous dentist. They would not give me a copy of my records that day (violation of HIPAA). Then when I called again after making a appt with a new dentist, they told me the only way they would release them was to have my drive to N. Augusta and pay $20 for each record. At my second opinion appt, the dentist at the new practice told me my children's teeth were fine DO NOT GO. I am so thrilled I didn't believe her and took my children elsewhere for a second opinion. STAY AWAY!! My son went to see Dr Ashcraft because he had a cavity in his tooth. She told us that tooth and another tooth needed to be removed and it would cost a few thousand dollars. We got a second opinion, and that dentist told us that it did NOT need to be removed. Update from 4 years later, and we have had NO trouble with the tooth. She has a history of telling patients they need unnecessary procedures just for the money. Her staff is VERY rude, and they do not allow you to be present for dental work with your child. I didn't like the wait time. I sure don't miss it. The staff working there were nice but the wait time to get called back made me hate going there. So the reason I gave stars is 1. We were there for over 2 hours. When I asked if every appt would be this long the response was every pediatric dentist office takes long. I hate when ppl give me rebuttals like that especially when I know better. Typically I’m out in about 45 minutes to an hour. 2. I was not allowed to go to the back with my child. That is a very uncomfortable situation for myself & my child. Other than that the staff was polite the office is clean & the dr is really polite also! So the reason I gave stars is 1. My son had an O.R. appointment this morning at The Children's Hospital Of Georgia. Dr.Ashcraft and her team did an exceptional job and I couldn't be more pleased.

I called every pediatric dentist in the CSRA and she was the only one to accept my 8 year old as a new patient. I desperately needed a pediatric dentist but no one wanted to accept the challenge of an 8 yr old autistic, new patient. We got speedy services and got so much done within a couple of months that my child was never able to get her entire life. I love this place. I would recommend to everyone. The staff is knowledgeable and was able to treat my son immediately. Appointments are easy to make and I love the fact that they open at 7:30 am. My son's recently had surgery and everyone made sure we was well prepared. One of the minor inconveniences is the drive there (my problem) and the wait time but it is completely understandable because it's what's best for the child not the parent. My grandson in foster care spent the night and brought what I THOUGHT were teeth,upon further inspection they were pieces of them that broke off! It We took over his care It took 5 visits to fix 10 teeth, including a cleaning,f pull 4 baby teeth, do 5 fillings(not silver), and one root canal and cap(?). She and her staff were SO GREAT! They explained each and every procedure not just to me but him as well. I was pleased with the quality of work, the friendliness of the staff and the positive experience it's created for my 9 year old grandson. Our kids love Dr. Ashcraft! Her staff are always nice & caring about our children!! We love how they explain all treatment needs & why in detail!

Claimed 4 yr old daughter had 9 cavities. Took for 2nd opinion and was told by 2 other dentists NO cavities!!! Ashcroft wanted to do oral surgery! When we advised we would not they immediately cut us off! Poor excuse for a medical professional. Only trying to get $$$$

Caveat emptor. At our first and only appt at her practice, I was informed my children had multiple cavities and would need extensive work and anathesia. I was not comfortable and told them I would be getting a second opinion. New dentist gave me a completely different diagnosis and they will only need a filling. It took over 3 hours, I wasn't allowed back with my 5 YOs and I would never go again. I've heard from multiple people who also had issues. So disappointing.
