For months, we were told by others who "specialize" in implants and prosthesis appliances that they could help my mother who had significant bone loss and failed traditional inplants. Months passed and we were told they couldn't help us and referred us to Dr. Brecht and a colleague. Having done the research and knowing the average cost of zygoma implants and the prosthesis that would be required, we thought it was a long shot but we called the office anyway. Given the situation, we didn't know what else to do. With kindness, the staff welcomed us to come in and let Dr. Brecht take a look and see. There wasn't any pressure about finances--they first wanted to see if they could help. When Dr. Brecht walked in for her first appointment, he was warm, listened closely to my mom's journey that led her to his office, and then did an exam. He skipped the platitudes and instead was honest: it would be a long journey, but he could help and he had the experience to support his assertion. He wanted to get started as soon as possible given the bone loss she had already suffered, even after we expressed our concern about the financial end. Dr. Brecht wanted my mom to be able to smile and eat again, and the other part we would work out. Throughout the process, he made time in his schedule, even asking his staff to fit us in on days when he would need to extend his already long day to accommodate us, attending her surgery to make sure he knew all that he needed to as he moved forward, and coming in on a weekend (along with his staff) when he needed to change our appointment. With every visit, he continued to be honest about how things were going (which only made us feel more secure given how another office had handled her care) and he never once showed anything but genuine interest in the success of my mom's implants and prosthesis. It felt like he was as invested in her care as we were, while continuing to maintain perspective about her progress. By no means was my mom's case easy. We knew it, he knew it, and his staff knew it. But they continued to offer support, to welcome us, and to remain in touch even between appointments. Dr. Brecht checked in with us personally following her surgery and first prosthesis placement, making sure that if we had questions he could answer them directly and to quell the anxiety we had with all that she was going through. From the skilled folks working in the lab who carefully crafted her multiple prosthesis, to his front desk staff who helped us navigate the scheduling and commuication, to his experienced assistants and hygienists who not only did their job but comforted her, there wasn't a person we engaged with that wasn't compassionate and talented. There are many providers who are nice and do the job. But Dr. Brecht is an incredibly skilled, considerate, diligent, and honest doctor who sees the whole patient. Stars are a very reductive way to rate such critical care that was provided by Dr. Brecht and his staff and if I could give him more than five stars, I would. Most importantly, to me, however, is that I trusted him and his office with caring for my mother and that is the greatest way I can show how highly I recommend them. First-rate. After I broke a tooth, Dr. Brecht had me in the next day and gave me a crown a few days later. Friendly, helpful staff. Superb in every respect.

Made an appointment for a routine cleaning and check up, couldn't have asked for a better experience! Front desk got me checked in quickly and the hygienist was incredibly kind and understanding about my sensitive teeth.

Dr. Debra Cohn and the entire staff of NYC Prosthodontics are incredible. Prior to seeing Dr. Cohn, I had struggled for five years with problematic abutments and crowns for my two implants. I saw multiple periodontists and prosthodontists, none of whom were able to fix my admittedly challenging case. Using their experience, 3D technology, and onsite lab, Dr. Cohn and her colleagues were able to come up with a creative solution that no one else had considered. For the first time in five years. my teeth look terrific and I don't have to worry about them falling out. The level of knowledge, professionalism and concern for the patient was the best that I have received by any dentist or medical practitioner, and I will forever be appreciative of their help. Like many other people of my generation going to the dentist conjures up memories of unpleasant experiences from our childhood. The unfortunate consequence of those bygone days is that the anxiety often lingers into adulthood. For me, the experiences with the talented and caring folks from Dr. Brecht to those who greet you when you arrive, and everyone in between, has made any worries about taking care of my teeth old news. I often hear of "painless" dentistry. Well, Dr. Brecht and his team are masters! From diagnosis, to addressing the problem, to planning for the future, the experience is unrivaled. Beyond the compassion and the skill, one final point about the level of care. Dr. Brecht covers the gamut from the simplest cavity to working with children in advance of surgery for a cleft palate. He is a leader in the development of his field. He frequently addresses professional gatherings to discuss the latest in dental care. He teaches future dentists at NYU and travels around the world upgrading dental care where needed. My only regret is I didn't know Dr. Brecht sooner. Most people don’t have “going to the dentist” on their favorites list, but after visiting this beautiful office you just might add it to yours. The views of midtown from the waiting room put you in a zen mood before you even sit in the dental chair. My experience here changed my life because they turned my illness into a positive and now I smile uncontrollably every day. Visiting the office is a pleasant experience. Firstly, at the reception you are greeted with smiles that make you feel welcome. Secondly, you’ll be told to stay in the waiting room before it is you’re turn to go in. However this room feels like a modern home, sparkling clean and smells nice. Lastly, all the staff here including Dr Brecht, Stephanie, Marissa and so much more whom have had the same positive and great attitude every time I visited. They are kind and very helpful. The professionalism coupled with the high attention to detail, sensitivity, compassion and the greatest genuine desire to make me feel comfortable, made my experience a memorable one. They are perfectionist, they have created an art form in manufacturing crowns and veneers. You’ll never see better restorations than this! I can't say enough about Dr. Cohn and her practice. The office is clean, state-of-the-art, and conveniently located in Midtown. Last week I needed to have several things done and Dr. Cohn and her staff couldn't have been nicer about it! Everything was done there - on the same day - so I didn’t have to make multiple trips for work that most dentists would have to send out to have made and completed a few weeks later. With regard to her results - well let's just say only she and I know or can tell what was done :) I can't say enough about Dr. Cohn and her practice.
