Dr. Hill saved my husband from having a total hip surgery he did not need. Consulting with Dr. Hill for a second opinion was the best thing we ever did. After being told he needed a total hip replacement by another dr, Dr. Hill reviewed the x-rays and determined he did not need surgery at all. He prescribed some medicines which took away the pain my husband was suffering from for months. So glad we talked with Dr. Hill. Would highly recommend!

Dr. Hill performed surgery on my elderly mother. She fell and broke her femur, After doing everything he suggested for over a year, my mother still can't walk! It never healed, he claims her smoking is the cause. His assistant calls me a year later & says to me mom needs surgery again and they can do a different way, which they had performed this on 1 other patient and it worked 100% and she will walk again! What?!!! Why didn't you do that one in the 1st place is my question! My mom has Alzheimer's and if she has another surgery due to the anesthesia she will lose what little memory she has left. We chose no surgery and mom is now in hospice care and this Dr. never called to even check up on her after all of this. His assistant had to tell me this horrible news! After several office visits with questions and concerns knowing I needed hip surgery, Dr. Hill was very patient with me. He took his time answering all my questions. He never hurried an office visit, made me feel very confident to go through with the surgery. After only 2 weeks my pain was from 0. I am very happy I had this done and that he is my doctor. WITHOUT A DOUBT A FANTASTIC PHYSICIAN!! Dr. Derek Hill is an excellent surgeon with impeccable bedside manners!! Very knowledgeable very caring considerate and a perfectionist. He's everything a person would appreciate and expect in a physician! Dr. Hill came highly recommended from my primary physician. Moreover, his staff was unbelievably kind! I am 100% thrilled with my new hip and the precise leg length.

Broke my tibia and fibula one year ago and Dr. Hill basically saved my leg ! Found him through St. John’s ER & grateful I did ! Would recommend for any orthopaedic issues !!

He did orthoscopic surgery for my separated shoulder. I'm happy to say I'm 100% recovered from it, barely any scarring, and no loss in range of motion.

Both of my hips were necrotic. I saw Dr. Hill and said I have 12 weeks for FMLA, can we get both hips replaced in that time? He said yes. He did anterior replacements 6 weeks apart at St. John Macomb Hospital. This repair allowed for more motion right after surgery than the old way.. He did a phenomenal job! It is not often that you find a surgeon with a good bedside manner who is as skilled as Dr. Hill.. His office staff was attentive and helpful. I highly recommend him!

This guy is terrible! He operated on my ankle to fix a "simple" fracture. I had more pain after the surgery than before and it kept getting worse. The surgical site was infected and when I went to another surgeon they told me the bones were never put together right. I've now had two surgeries to clean out the wound because Hill ignored the infection. The bones still have not healed, and my new surgeon says if we don't get source control I may need another surgery. Dr. Hill has ruined my life.

Found Dr. Hill through a referral from my primary care physician. He and his staff are top notch. Everything was seamless from my first consultation appointment though the rest of my care. Professional couple with a warm, caring environment.

Messed up my hip, had to have redone by another doctor, hes very arrogant and full of himself. Wouldnt recommend him.

Dr. Hill gave me my life back. Hardly had any pain during and after my hip surgery. Verry caring and compassionate doctor who listens to you. Thx Dr. Hill!

"Walking Pain-Free" - Dr. Hill is an AMAZING doctor! I am so satisfied with my total knee replacement. I was up and walking within hours of my recovery time in the hospital. It was wonderful. My whole experience was completely amazing and pain-free. I was at 95% the first day after surgery. I was able to walk and do the physical therapy exercises the first day in the hospital. He has an excellent pain-free regimen that helps you to follow his instructions so you can get back to being 100% mobile and pain-free. He is very concerned about his patients' welfare and recovery back to their daily life activities. Dr. Hill is the man if you're looking for a doctor who is concerned about correcting your situation and eliminating your pain, If you follow all the instructions Dr. Hill give you and follow the pain regimen he has outlined for you, you too will have an excellent experience with the surgery he performs. The key is for you to "FOLLOW HIS INSTRUCTIONS." I am so confident in him and his skills as a surgeon that I am having my other knee done. And this is within 4 weeks of having the first knee done. My total satisfaction would not have been possible without the help and assistance of Dr. Hill's office staff. He has a great team working along side him who enables him to provide the quality of care that he does. They are truly a great group of concerned medical professionals. Dr Hill is a great dr. And surgeon, very easy to talk to. My surgery was a success.. My husband also goes to him.

I went to Dr Hill with severe pain in both knees. He confirmed what I suspected. I was walking bone on bone in both knees. I had been living with this pain for so many years until my primary care physician recommend that I see Dr. Hill. I had a total knee replacement in both knees. Super great recovery time! I was able to return to work in 6 weeks at a stand up job with a sit when needed restriction. I appreciate the care Dr Hill and his staff gave me.

Dr. Hill was a God send in fixing my sons broken wrist from a football injury. We initially had a previous ortho surgeon assigned who was not competent to recognize a broken bone therefore my sons bone started healing incorrectly. Dr. Hill had a great sense of urgency to reset the break and came into the hospital on a Saturday morning. He showed us the X-rays and explained everything very thoroughly. He had a caring bedside manner. Very polite man. Very grateful for him.
