Been with Dr Hoistad since he came to Policlinic in the late 90’s. After struggling with poor hearing and many Dr.s’ I was glad to have found him. Been through many compassionate and knowledgeable appointments, surgery and continued care. If you need answers and are willing to engage, I know this is a honest and upfront Dr.

God help me if he was the last Dr on the face of the earth, I'd stay home. I could hear before I went to see him, before he literally cut off my ear. I went to see him due to a whistling in my ear, now I have a permanent siren. For over 2 years, I have dealt with this, and I wouldn't wish this quack on my worst enemy.

I had surgery with Dr Hoistad and my outcomes were very positive. I used to be able to see him at Minor and James but he has since moved. I have followed him to his new clinic and am happy with my 8+ years of Dr Patient relationship with him.

I was a patient for over 5 years and the doctor always gave me the time to explain issues in detail. After spending time with severe balance issues he was able to determine what was wrong and how to correct and control it. I have complete trust and respect for him. He is the best listener and interpreter of my concerns.

He made me feel like it was a waste of time to see me. Saw me for three minutes and left. Definitely do not want to return and do not recommend this doctor.

By far the worst doctor I have ever seen. He wouldn't explain anything to me and I had to ask numerous questions multiple times just to get the slightest bit of information.

Dr. Hoistad took A LOT of time to answer my questions and make sure I was comfortable with the information given to me. He may be a bit eccentric, but I found him to open-minded and supportive. He was even open to discussion about doing local anesthesia rather than general anesthesia.
