Dr. Douglas Marlon Monasebian

​I've had four breast procedures; from initial augmentation in 2014, implant revision/downsize in 2015, removal of capsular contractures and correction of cleavage distortion caused by implant displacement in 2016, and finally, explant and mastopexy surgery in 2022. Douglas Monasebian, M.D., D.M.D., F.A.C.S. performed my latter two operations. Since I was exceptionally gratified with my operation results in 2016, when a Mammogram screening showed that my implant had ruptured, I only trusted the surgical competence of Dr. Monasebian. As I decided to return to my natural bust with a breast lift and implant removal, Dr. Monasebian assuaged all my concerns and once again exceeded the aesthetic needs of my breast appearance and my overall silhouette. PS, gracious thanks to the entire Park Avenue Plastic Surgery staff - Janet, Jenna, Denise, and Marina - for their empathy when addressing my queries and the interpersonal warmth they bring to the office environment.

My son's pediatrician recommended Dr. Monasebian and so glad she did. My 17 yr old has been bothered by his protruding ears most of his life. Dr. Monasebian immediately put us both at ease during our initial visit as he carefully listened to my son, his concerns and request (even asked about his college plans). Part art and part science, Dr. Montasebian combined both to create the ears my son always wanted and made his confidence soar. The recovery was a bit tough but we knew what to expect. And the Dr was always available by phone or text, and very responsive no matter the hour. My son is extremely happy. I highly recommend Park Ave Plastic Surgery.

Really well taken care of throughout the process, fractures my nose with numerous stitches and they did an excellent job as if it never happened.

From the start of my first appointment with Dr Monasebian and his team I knew this was going to be different. As someone who personally agonizes over impending dr appointments (I don’t think I’m alone here), I was scared - though still excited - but I had no idea how easy the team would make this whole process for me and for my husband. Any question we had was answered. Any worries or concerns were addressed. Nothing went forward without my full understanding of what was to take place and what recovery would look like. The process was smooth and before I knew it the procedure was done and I was in the recovery room with my husband. Every day since then, should I have any questions I don’t have them long; the team is highly responsive and Dr Monasebian is available if needed. If you’re waiting to do something for yourself that you want to do but are too scared or are debating between drs, there is a reason this dr and his team are so highly rated.

This is a long review, but when I was in early stages trying to find information on the internet I felt like I wanted more fulsome reviews, so I'm hoping this will be helpful to someone in my position in the future. Dr. Monasebian was recommended to me by my orthodontist and oral surgeon to assist with related procedures, and specifically to discuss alternatives to orthognathic surgery. I was extremely reticent to move forward with any type of surgery, so I needed a LOT of convincing. My first impression was that the office was very nice, clean and private, and the staff was friendly and professional. Dr. Monasabien and his nursing staff spent as much time as I needed explaining to me every option, the relative benefits, risks and costs, and what he thought was the best choice. After a very long consultation, I felt comfortable enough to go forward with his recommended procedure of an osteotomy. Dr. Monasabien never pressured me, answered every question, explained a lot of the medicine and science very thoughtfully, and I left feeling like I was making the best call. He also was willing to work with me on pricing, which I greatly appreciated, and he made sure to coordinate with my oral surgeon and orthodontist on the work they were doing to provide me with the greatest care. The day of the procedure I was so nervous but it was smooth sailing. The procedure was done in office (they have their own surgical room) and I was the only patient, so it was very private and I had the whole staff's attention, which made me feel much more comfortable. Earlier that year I had to have oral surgery and it was done at a hospital and it was soo much more stressful. I arrived around 7 or 8 am and I was out before noon. They walked me through in detail what the recovery process would be like, what to take the first few days, how to control swelling, what to do and not do / eat and not eat, etc. Dr. Monasabien scheduled with me 2 follow up visits where he checked on my healing and swelling progress and answered more of my questions, which mostly had to do with when I would see the final results. He also very kindly offered me a complimentary facial from their fantastic esthetician in advance of my wedding! And it was amazing, my skin looked so good :) For anyone who is interested in a similar procedure and feels like there isn't enough candid information online, here is what I thought. The immediate recovery part was actually pretty quick. By day 3 the pain was mostly gone, it could be managed by taking Advil regularly, and I was back to work. I was religious about taking the Arnica they provided to help with swelling - and that was the real issue. The swelling is a bit of a drag and it definitely takes time to go down. I am talking MONTHS to be fully normal again. I feel like online reviews provide overly optimistic timelines for the healing process. I would say you need to be prepared to wait ~6 months for the swelling to fully go down and see what you're really going to look like. Even now (9 months later), I still feel a little bit of tightness where the sutures in my mouth were, and I still do facial exercises and massaging. In the 1-2 months after surgery, there were times where I was freaking out because the swelling looked weird and I was convinced the procedure hadn't worked and it wasn't worth it, etc. But during my follow ups Dr. Monasabien told me to have patience and gave me realistic expectations, and he took the time to calm me down and reassure me. True enough, when I see myself now I am SO SO happy with the final results and my decision to go forward with the procedure. Dr. Monasabien is an artist - he did exactly what needed to be done to compliment my oral procedures, and he hit the perfect balance of fixing the issue while not making huge / obvious changes. In short, despite my hesitancy, I would do it all over again. This is the second time I have needed the services of Dr. Monasebian. The first many years ago for an evaluation from a very serious burn on my forearm, this time for plastic surgery following removal of a basal cell from my nose. The Mohs surgery resulted in a hole in my nose the size of a dime, and I immediately went to Dr. Monasebian’s office from the Mohs surgeon, in that brief time he had already spoken to the Mohs surgeon and had come up with a plan to restore my nose. I found him him to be very kind, caring, skillful, reassuring and thorough, and the same for his staff, who were also wonderful. He explained the entire procedure to me, the recovery process, and put me at ease. The surgery was completed, my nose restored, and the aftercare also handled with care and respect. I have been coming here for three months and I am very happy with my results. The products are amazing. I have problematic skin very oily prone to blackheads, pimples, etc. I receive facials and acid peels and am going monthly to make sure they go away. I have had 2 procedures with Dr. Monasebian. Last year I had an eye lid lift ( wearing contact lenses for so long , my muscles weakened & eye lids drooped.) That was life altering! Wow did/ do love those results. He also removed the bags under my eyes . A year later I had a face lift! And that too had a great result. Went to Dr Monesabien in early November for treatment of 2 huge wounds on either side of my shin from falling. Wounds were nearly down to my bone. Dr Monesabien is a master plastic surgeon. Dr. Monasebian is a fantastic doctor. I was referred to his office because of a nerve injury from a wisdom tooth extraction. This caused me significant pain, loss of taste, and feeling in the left side of my tongue. Dr. Monasebian was able to provide significant relief to my lingual nerve with surgery. My recovery was significantly faster than what other doctors or myself anticipated, a testament to Dr. Monasebian's ability as a surgeon. As of only 3 months after surgery, I have had the vast majority of my feeling and taste return without the pain I had prior to the surgery. I stumbled upon their MedSpa services on Groupon, and it was easily the best microneedling PRP deal with the most reputable place on there. I felt like I was getting a steal when I saw the office/ the vibe of it for their price for the 3 pack. It turns out the medspa is newer so they are just trying to promote. You meet with Dr. Monasabien first who was great just to make sure it's right for your skin, and then you schedule your microneedling with the aesthetician Maha. Maha is literally amazing. I had so much fun doing the microneedling with her, and she really knows her stuff. I am all for talking about different products, and she knew every single one I brought up, and even put me on the right path on how to better use them. And she called me out for using too much retinol / peels lol which was true. Overall loved going to her and for a procedure that apparently hurts I had a fun time and recovered pretty quickly. The staff is friendly and they make sure you are well taken care of. I’ve barely had to wait long to get the surgery after the consultation. The Dr. is great. I had an accident where I fell and had a gash just to the left of my eye. It was a vertical slice caused by my metal frame glasses. It's particularly hard to heal unseen and required over 25 stitches. The Dr. saw me in his office on a weekend and stitched me up on the spot. The wound is virtually undetectable and I could not be happier with the result. I would recommend him for any consultation because he's not only a great surgeon but a thoughtful and knowledgeable doctor. I have subsequently reached out to him for other issues and could not have been more pleased with the outcomes. I have subsequently recommended him to several family members & friends who have been extremely pleased by their outcomes.

Dr Monasabian is a talented surgeon and a delightful person.He performed a surgery in office that I had put off for a long time. Although it was a complicated procedure it was painless. I felt confident and comfortable with him and his lovely nurse. It is healed and Im good to go!

I met Dr. Monasebian 7 years ago. My granddaughter was 20 months old and her pediatrician referred her to Dr. Monasebian because she needed stitches on her eyebrow after she fell on the edge of a coffee table. He did a wonderful job. Last year he removed a cyst from another granddaughter and the result is also excellent. He and his staff are wonderful with children. When a friend fell on the sidewalk she called me for his number because she knew how happy we were with his work; she had sustained a tear through her lower lip. You cannot even see a scar there after he repaired it. A few months ago my husband and I each had him remove large lipomas with excellent results yet again! I cannot recommend him more highly. I had already called two separate plastic surgeons that had been recommended but they were very offputting and had a number of bad reviews. He met with her (and us) several times before we even committed to the surgery so my daughter could clarify what she did want and what she did not want. He is caring and patient. Dr. Monasebian implanted 2 facial implants about 15 years ago. One was removed weeks later because he did not sew the entry point correctly, and the other was never correct. I saw Dr. Monasebian after I developed a problem with my c-section scar. I was unhappy with its appearance and built up scar tissue made it painful to wear clothes that fastened around the waist. Not only did Dr. Monasebian understand my concerns, he supported that I should be happy with my appearance. He and his staff could not have been more professional and caring. The details of my procedure were made clear, I have had outstanding follow-up care, and couldn?t be happier with my results.

I would highly recommend Dr. Monasebian to everybody for chin reduction surgery. He was thorough, precise and performed best results I could have possibly desired. I am in medical field myself so I would not write a good review unless I absolutely believe in it. The reason why I am writing is to help other people with the same problem if faced with the dilemma to choose a plastic surgeon for chin reduction and get best results.
