Avoid this office. Although the doctor may be great, their front office staff have made my experience the past few years absolutely terrible. I have never been able to get my medication refilled in time, when I try to contact the staff to get the medication situation cleared out they have been extremely unprofessional and have even yelled at me. They do not care about the well being of their patients. I truly cannot express how much stress this office has caused me, I am trying my best to switch to a different provider.

I will never go back to this place. I wouldn't trust him with my life. He gave me a misdiagnosis Dr mana

Impossible to get a hold of anyone in the office. Can't schedule appointments, or communicate with anyone. Incredibly bad office.

Dr. Men's and Dr. Iman are excellent. I completed treatment for HCV with them. They were respectful, courteous and professional in their field. I would highly recommend them

I will never go back to this place. I wouldn't trust him with my life.

My wife first visit to Dr.Mena,office for non alcoholic liver disease was turn away after waiting 3 months only because her primary doctors office didn’t give her an authorization form the nurses at Dr.mena office could of called my wife’s primary doctor office and have them fax the authorization form and she would of been seen so she had to wait another three months just to be seen so it took six months to see him once she had her visit with Dr.mena she was told to come back in three months when we returned for her visit with Dr.mena once again for the second time she is being turned away this time because Dr.mena office isn’t accepting her insurance any more my wife ask The nurse at the desk why she wasn’t notified the nurse said they sent her a text which for some reason they had the wrong number on file this was not my wife’s fault they should pay more attention because this is a serious matter they should of sent a letter letting her know that they weren’t going to be accepting her insurance so she would of had time to change it but now she has to wait another three months with a liver three times it’s normal size what happen to the oath that was pledge? I have been going to Dr. Mena for over 20 years now and he is the most knowledgeable, caring and responsive doctor. I read some of the reviews that complains about his staff and I have experienced issues with call wait times as well but when I addressed it to Dr. Mena he took care of it right away. I know he truly cares about his patients and given the amount of patients he does see, I am surprised he remembers the little details of my visits. Please please Do not go to this doctor !!!!! Period I have called them 100 times and the worst office in Los Angeles !!! Two times have been canceled the appointments and waiting for a year !!! Its SHAM

The doctor is good, if you ever get to see him. Voicemail always full and nobody answers the phones. Lunchtimes vary and overlap into appointment times. I’ve never had a more frustrating time making and appointment or getting referrals for blood work.

My problem is with the front office not the doc. I need blood work in order to get my CT prior to my visit. Voice mail is full and have already left messages with no call back.

It was priceless nothing compares to having cultural and component health care, which is what doctor Mena provided for us.

I have already reviewed Dr. Mena as an excellent doctor. He has been my doctor for three years. He has been instrumental in saving my life. As for his office staff. I have found them to be very compassionate and patient friendly. They have been very attentive to my needs in terms of scheduling procedures and dealing with my insurance company.

I am trying to get an appointment with the office since last week. Detailed message is left with no response. In the few times I’ve had to take my dad here, we’ve waited over an hour to see the doctor. This doesn’t include the time you have to wait to be put in a private room. Not to mention, the front staff is rude af. And for some reason, the nurse decided speaking louder would make my Chinese speaking dad understand English better. I’ve only had one nice experience with an assistant doctor of Dr. Mena’s but that can’t beat the amount of times we’ve had poor service. Would not recommend. Dr Mena is one of the most knowledgable doctors. His is kind with great bedside manners. His diagnosis and treatment are right on.

I heard he was good but don't know as of yet due to no one answers the phone for three days straight.

I have never been more disappointed in any doctor than with Dr Mena . He was supposed to be treating my son but never really had the time or the interest. He just kept saying come back in a few months. So for 6 months my son suffered with multiple symptoms and even had surgery at one point, because we took him to the emergency room. Finally when the symptoms continued , he had us wait in his waiting room for over an hour for an appointment that was scheduled a couple of weeks in advance , and then didn’t even bother to show up, instead sending in his nurse practitioner who just went over everything we already knew . She told us they would be scheduling a procedure the next day , but when insurance was a little difficult they went back to ...forget the procedure and we’ll see you in a few months. At this point we decided to go elsewhere. We are now getting the attention that is warranted . We will never go back to this doctor.

There is no doubt he’s a great dr. He caught an autoimmune diagnosis that every dr I ever saw missed. And based on my blood work history, I’ve had this for at least 8 years. Dr Mena and his RA are the best, she acts like she really cared, thank you for saving my life, cured me of my hepatitis

This is by far the best internists I've been treated by. Great bedside manner that is genuine. He took the time to explain many of the specifics which allowed me to further research my genotype and sub type. I watched patient's get frustrated with the staff because they(the patient) didn't follow simple fasting directions for the fibro scan. Dr. Mena saved my life!! Plain and simple!! His staff kicks a$$!! Forever grateful

Dr Mena is a wonderful doctor, as is his PA, Dr. Iman Jomaa. I have had nothing but great interactions with both of these wonderful people. They are thorough, (they give lots of quality time to their patients) and are very compassionate. However, the staff cuts off their phones well before closing time (15 minutes) and near lunch times and one can never get through to them to change or cancel an appointment. If you finally do get through, the staff's reception to your problem, whether it concerns your immediate pain, or time frame challenge is often dry, and uncaring. The staff really needs some sensitivity training! At my last appointment, I over heard some of them referring to Dr. Jomaa as "HER", and "SHE" derisively. This is highly unprofessional. Clean your house doctors! Your staff isn't doing you any favors!

My experience with doctor Mena have been great his patience and explaining things to put me at ease

The reception/admin staff is Not professional and lack a sense of urgency.

Dr Mena and his PA are excellence with no doubt, my dad and aunt have been follow up with Dr Mena for 5 years. However, the office workers are IN NEEDS to be corrected and train properly. There are many occasions that Dr Mena told my dad that he will request authorizations for CT scan or hepatitis genotyping blood work, usually according to the insurance company, the office must submit the referrals within 3 business days to avoid any delay of care, 10 days later, still no authorization, so I called the IPA to find out the authorization was never submitted. That's not the worst, so I called Dr Mena's office to ask and to find out that the receptionist lied that they already submitted the auth, but awaiting for the IPA approval. These discrepancy happened many many times throughout the years. My advice is follow up with whatever referrals that Dr Mena stated during your visit and don't rely on the office workers, after all, it is all about you and your health. Curried me of hep C Awesome attention I got from his office reccomend this liver DR for anyone ????

Dr Mena was the most caring and supportive doctor we could have had for my husband's terminal liver cancer. Throughout the 15 month fight Dr Mena was always available and anwered all our questions. Every night in the hospital he would visit, whether he was in for a direct result of the cancer or something else. Awesome doctor!

The doctor is very nice and friendly. The staff however is unprofessional. I called toask questions about certain medication that is very important for me to take. I told the nurse i would not start this medication until i heard fro her and the doctors response. Two months later im still waiting to hear from the doctor. Lucky for me i called the support group available 24 hrs. I was supposed to check with this Dr. 6 weeks after starting meds. Im still waiting on that appointment 8 weeks later. If I could rate 10 Stars I would. Trust me I'm picky! I'm also a "Chicken". After being cured with Epclusa from Hep C, I'm still fighting HCC (there's no cure as far as I know). I had an done 7 months ago by Dr. Reed, associated Radiologist to Dr. Mena. So far, Hep C cured with Epclusa. My quality of life returned !!!!! Good bye stubborn swollen body & legs. :)) Thanks Dr. Mena, Iman, Norma & rest of this fantastic team! They'll will take best care of you. Dr. Mena is a doctor that is very courteous, comes in with a big smile and makes you feel at ease. I put all my trust in Dr. Mena when he explains my condition. I would definitely recommend him to anyone that needs a Hepatologist.
