Dr Yambo was my doctor for over 25 years. I 1st met him when he treated my daughter at Good Sam. She was 5 and had roto virus,no one else could figure out. When he learned, i was a single mom with min income, he never charged me one dollar for the entire week she was hospitalized Dr Yambo was professional, kind, caring and could diagnose anything..he didn't send anyone away or refer anyone out unless he exhausted all means or you absolutely needed a specialist. For 25 years, he treated me and my family.. the kindest best doctor ever!

I've visited Dr Yambo for over 20 yrs and he is by far The Best doctor ever . I moved to PA and regret that I left , couldn't commute , but I'm looking for him now to diagnose and treat these issues that has come upon me since living here......God Bless him !!!!

BAD DR. YAMBO! Stay away. His office is very poorly run. His staff have no idea what's going on. In the past, files were all over the place and in the open for everyone to see. It was common that files would go missing. They were found but not when he saw you. In the past you got to see Dr Yambo but now all you see are his PA's. The wait in his so called office is just plain crazy. This is the norm. Yes it's true that he prescribes pain meds. Then you come back month after month. WINK WINK. He has a high turnover. When his PA'S get tired of all the stuff that goes on then that's what they do, go on to bigger and better things. UPDATE: i SEE THAT DR YAMBO WAS ARRESTED. He is in trouble. When most doctors are getting ready to retire he will have to figure a way to come up with almost 1 million dollars. If you read most of the reviews there is a common thread. Is he FINALLY in prison yet?!? POS And has a god complex when he’s a complete moron & the nastiest, uncaring dr you’ll EVER see. Literally doesn’t even look at you!!! Loved seeing him on the news for stealing over $1,000,000 from Medicaid. Him & his ENTIRE STAFF (esp PATTY, his main pos & the nasty B, JOHANNA, you pos!)...none of them should be working w/ppl in ANY type of job! I’ve never in my ENTIRE LIFE encountered nastier people! need to go away for a VERY looong time. SO MANY PEOPLE HAVE (LITERALLY) DIED BC OF HIM!!! & you think he cares? Ha!!! I was there when he got calls (several times) from patients family going off on him bc their loved ones were DEAD bc of that pos, scambo. Then he’s just blame his garbage staff & take it out on the patients (ME) He had at least 3 P.A.’s that quit on him bc they didn’t wanna be involved in his scams & end up in jail like he will. Even in scambos waiting room was just so horrible & uncomfortable ...& you feel like going to a probation officer or something while seeing That piece of GARBAGE. I once told him how people were selling their pills/scrips they’d get from him right inside his own waiting room and outside. & his response was: “MAYBE YOU CAN BUY SOME FROM THEM”... WHAT. THE. I worked at this office and the oakdale office years ago and I see NOTHING has changed. I called and spoke to Dr. Yambo personally last week. I asked if he would take my terminally I'll mother back as a patient being as she wanted to come back home to Long Island to spend her last days. He stated an I quote "of course I'll take her back and be her hospice doctor and I'll make house calls". Since then I had made several calls to the office one to see when he would be making his first house call and second to make sure he had filled out my paperwork for FMLA. Well I was told that I would HAVE to be seen to fill out the paperwork. (Mind you it's nothing to do with anything medical on my end. Just stating that I am her caregiver). I was hung up on by several receptionist and/or nurses. I was told that I would get a call back with the home visit information and heard nothing for a week as of today. So I called back and spoken to the extremely unprofessional office manager Sherry who and I quote "Dr Yambo won't do house calls and that she has no idea why Dr Yambo would say that. And that he wouldn't get paid if my mother was on hospice. And that he pretty much had no clue what he was talking about". I WOULD NOT recommend this practice to anyone!!! The staff is horrible and have slim to non professionalism. Not to mention all the backdoor "patients" then come in with no appointment and no chart to get narcotics! Everyone has always been very helpful and patient.

Dr Yambo is an OUTSTANDING doctor with a heart of gold. He treated my 5 year old daughter for 7 days in the hospital when I had no insurance and never asked for a penny. HE is the kind of doctor who would do house calls, and he has always tried to do the right thing..30 years hes been my doctor.. hes a good man and he got screwed by a bad rep whom offered to put a lab in the office so that all his patients including The professional drug seekers would have to have their urine checked to make sure they were indeed using the medication for the right reasons. SHERRY,PATTI,KELLY,MARIANNE AND ALL the staff always do the best they can to help and yes there was always a wait because hes the ONLY doctor on Long Island that never cared what insurance you had.He would NEVER turn anyone away..I would stand up for his OUTSTANDING dedication and human kindness anyday not to mention how I was once told by a Stony Brook doctor that Dr Yambo was top in his class.. I also have many friends who have told me how he diagnosed illnesses on their parents that no one else could figure out. Don't listen to the people who write negative reviews. made an urgent appointment today. Asked if the doctor prescribed my husbands medications three times and was told yes. After waiting for 2 hrs the doctor came in told us he could not prescribe the medicines and wrong info about the medications my husband has been taking over 15 years. after my husband walked about because he was in pain and angry. The Doctor told me my husband has an anger issue. Completely Unprofessional and disappointing.

I can’t get a call back for 3 days now , I can’t believe it I’m changing doctors

I actually like Yambo and loved Ryan. But the staff is Horrible! So rude, so ghetto, so unprofessional! And they always run out of shots. Smh

The staff is a joke. I wasted 3 trips only to find out my appointment was cancelled. No one even bothered to call and let me know. At one appointment I sat there for 3 hours before I went up and asked only to find out it was cancelled.............RUN Only gave it one star so I could post it......should be minus 20

Honestly I don't like to write bad review's but this place needs to be shut down, the secretaries are some of the rudest people I've ever met. They sometimes just won't answer your calls or they will answer and hang up ! And when they do answer they are so rude and kinda treat you like "what do you want" and that's just to make an appointment lol ! I've waited 3-4-5-6 hours just to be seen for 5 minutes...... They would cancel appointment's and not notify you. The doctor is ok but he doesn't even know your name even after going to him for years ! All around it's just a terrible experience I found a new doctor and it's like night and day makes me realize how bad that Dr. Yambo office needs to be shut down it's honestly a disaster ! Yambo have been my doctor for a long time. Staff changes alot. They just have to do better with scheduling and the wait time.

Well, now that I no longer go to this doctor, I can write an extremely blunt, and honest review about my experience of seeing Dr. Yambo, ( I already deal with tons of b.s. in my life and don't need more), and how it's absolute B.S. that his patients have to find another doctor because all he was trying to do was help ppl that really needed it. There was a lot of good and bad with this place. Doctor was great, one of the best doctors I ever had, but some of his staff there ( not all of them, some of them), were beyond miserable and rude. They will pick up the phone and hang up on you or not answer at all, or will lie straight to your face or on the phone, telling you they sent the scripts to the pharmacy, but they never did. Amazes me that ppl like that can keep a job, while good ppl out there looking for a job can't get one. The absolute worst person there was this short, overweight girl that had this horrid body odor and desperately needed to take a shower, or come to work with a gallon of perfume. Her attitude was beyond pathetic, miserable and rude, and I pity the desperate fool who marries her. Before I even continue to talk about his now shut down deer park office, I have to say that this country, which is run by the dumbest, most corrupt, lying, manipulative, self serving, think they are genius's but are dumb as s#it government led by the greatest manipulator and liar I have ever seen ( d.trump), has got some nerve to all of a sudden come down hard on these doctors that are only trying to help people that really need it, including me. The DEA or whatever the hell they are called ( I don't care tbh) is now putting a stop to certain medications that ppl definitely need to survive. These ppl are being told last minute that they are now on their own, and getting help is almost impossible. You now have 2 choices. 1st choice is you stay on Medicaid and are told you can't make more than a certain amount a month (below poverty level) to keep it, because (2nd choice) if you lose it you will pay $1000 or more a month on what you need. How the hell are you supposed to be able to succeed, progress, and move forward on long island with just those 2 choices? How the hell is someone who is trying to better themselves, going to be able to afford that to stay sober!? Isn't it great that we have a gov't that sets ppl up for failure. Gov't has no problem introducing ppl to med's that could be harmful, but when these ppl need help to get off of them the gov't makes it almost impossible for you to do so. What eventually happens is that these ppl get sick and tired of having to struggle, and possibly begin doing things they thought they would never do to survive, because no real help is available to them. And then this dumb a** society as a whole has got the nerve to point their fingers at these poor souls and accuse them of being the bad guy. Absolute B.S.!!!! Such a damn shame that ppl are getting punished for doing the right thing and have to deal with the stigmas attached to them because of other ppl that are not doing the right thing. Everyone shouldn't be put into the same category and written off! There are good ppl out there trying to handle things in a responsible way, and now they can't because of all the evil garbage in this world holding them down! Ok, I have said enough. Long story short, Dr. Yambo still operates in bayshore and I highly recommend him. He will listen to you and help in any way he can. Just be prepared for a few ppl that work there, because some members of his staff are the worst society has to offer. Dr Yambo is my primary dr. He is very knowledgable... He gives me an answer to my issues before I see my specialest who gives me the same answer as Dr Yambo. Very caring, thorough, great bed side manner. People may complain in regards to the wait time and that's because he give full attention to each patient. Don't pay attention to the negative reviews. I have been seeing Dr.Yambo for 4 years and he is a very well mannered, very fair doctor. I have never had a problem with him and would recommend him to anyone.

Well, to begin w/, I (& everyone except yambo himself) LOVED his p.a's....Ryan Baker, & Bill Gray, BOTH OF WHOM QUIT ON "dr" YAMBO, after MUCH long-suffering. Come on, This guy needs to LOSE HIS LICENSE ALREADY! I don't know how it hasn't happened yet between his breathtakingly subpar level of incompetence & ZERO people/social skills. This guy is a joke. Ive been a patient of Dr. Yambos over 20 years and trust him with my life. Yes at tiimes the wait is very long and annoying....emergencies happen and some patients require much more time than others and dont forget the man treats everything and figurine it out takes time. If you're truly unhappy with the doctors performance and staff then its definitely time to find another doc. Its unnecessary to speak ill of him the bashing is also unnecessary

Awesome office the wait is a lil long but the new PA Dr. Bill Gray definitely a great addition. He definitely knows his stuff! !!!

Very caring and knowledgable. The only problem is that he is very popular and busy

He's been my main Doctor for 30 years. Yes you have to wait, but it's worth it. Never made a mistake yet.
