Zero stars if I could. Horrible experience. A doctor should help their patients, not harm them and then refuse to listen to them if they have an issue with their office. I was left a message the DAY before a procedure that I had to “either reschedule my appointment or pay another $150 for the procedure” so nonchalantly like that was no big deal. Not even a 24 hour notice and I had arranged my life around that day. April 10th didn’t work for me either to change it to. They wanted ME to pay an additional $150 because they didn’t have the supplies they needed and then they did not understand (or care) why that upset me. I mean, so unprofessional and disrespectful to the patient. She could not have cared any less. I wasn’t getting it for fun. I was suffering. Interstitial Cystitis is an awful disease. Some women are suicidal with it because it’s so painful but she didn’t care. She acted like I was coming in for a facial and I inconvenienced her. Then she took zero responsibility in trying to cancel the day before and overcharge me and not handling it in a better manner. She kept defending her high co pay and that’s all she heard but I was upset that I was called the day before my procedure to either “cancel or pay another $150”. Anyone would be upset by that especially if they were barely hanging on. She NEVER got that. Only 1 employee there was nice, the Nurse who prepped me. Everyone else, including the Nurse during the procedure, made it abundantly clear that they did not care about my well-being and I didn’t appreciate how they handled my procedure or that they didn’t even wait to see if I could pee afterward. She also charged me $50 for an unnecessary scan. She was rough out of spite in my procedure, rude and so un caring. She was not interested in resolving anything that I had issues with or talking like a compassionate person or even about my health. She only wanted to be right and shame me in front of others making me wrong and taking zero responsibility. I will never go back there. I will fly back to Los Angeles to my awesome urologist there before I go back to this place. I have a chronic and debilitating disease and want a doctor who cares. I was so upset when I left her office by the way I was treated that I had to calm down for 48 hours before writing this. I’ve seen many urologists in my years and she is the worst. By far. IC impacts your quality of life and every aspect of your life. Most Urologists I’ve seen for IC are incredibly caring, understanding and awesome. Not her. Granted healthcare is much better in CA (IMO) but her behavior was flat out unacceptable. She took an oath to care for her patients not harm them. Worst doctor experience I’ve ever had and it’s interesting how she only has 5 star ratings on her website but when you go elsewhere (such as rate your doctor), I see I am not the only one who was treated with disrespect and zero empathy. I wish I had read THOSE reviews beforehand. I paid that woman, as will my insurance, for about 10 minutes of her time a LOT of money at a time I had to leave my career I loved in CA because my father was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s so I came home across country and did not work for 6 months to get him in assisted living and get situated here which was incredibly expensive. She had no gratitude or respect and treated me like I was some sort of monster. Oh and they don’t take credit cards. She made it very clear she didn’t care about me. I did not feel safe or cared for by her. At ALL. After the procedure, she sent me home with no needed supplies, no concern for how I was and no one even bothered to call me afterward. Other urologists always cared and sent me home prepared. Also I never had pain with that procedure until her and it was the only time I was in terrible pain for 12 hours afterward. It hurt so much to pee that I considered going to the ER. So she’s not even a good doctor to be so rude with such a horrible bed side manner and attitude. But she, nor her of

I have been a patient of Dr. Kavalar’s for many years. My experience with her and her staff has always been excellent. Reaching her office to schedule an appointment or ask a question is always quick and stress free. Dr. Kavalar is kind, caring, knowledgeable and a good listener. She is an excellent surgeon who can also provide outstanding medical care. I highly recommend her.

I always forget how much I enjoy coming to this office. I had separate issues and a GYN happen to be on site. I’m so pleased again with the services here.

It was top notch! Professional, caring, succinct and spot on with her treatment. Loved the feminine touch with fresh flowers in the outer office. Often you will find stark urology offices with urine droppings near the toilet. This one was clean and even had a ledge for your pocketbook. Kudos to her lovely receptionist who scheduled a prompt appointment for me despite wrong care and indifference in another practice. I will recommend her to everyone.

The total Urology Care center is dedicated to just that so they have everything they need to examine and treat the patient on site. Dr Kavaler has years of training and experience and I felt confidence in her ability to diagnose and treat my complicated issues.

I’ve been treated by Dr Kavaler on 3 separate occasions and each time I was impressed as to how she grasped my complicated medical history and then treated me for my current issues with compassion, respect and top notch medical care which included doing sonograms right in her office. This is a big deal!! Also her office is clean, modern, well run. Her efficient staff showed compassion when I called in pain and frustration. They managed to “fit me in” and I saw Dr K the next day. Im treated by many docs and I can say I’m totally amazed by Dr K and I feel safe having her on my medical team!

Dr. Kavaler is direct, compassionate and knowledgeable. I feel reassured and clear about my condition after each visit.

Went out of her way to help me before I was even a patient. Listened to me. It’s unfortunate for that to be so rare. I’m grateful to her.

Dr. Kavaler is a great listener. She makes sure that all your problems are covered. Then she proposes her solution(s). When she has to go hands on, she takes care of everything herself. She is very thorough, and gives you all the information she knows, without waiting for your questions. I highly recommend Dr. Kavaler.

Possibly one of the worst experiences I’ve had with a doctor. Came to her due to the great reviews ( not sure how she got these considering her attitude towards patients), was extremely disappointed and insulted by this doctor. After years of misdiagnosis, Dr. Kavaler continued to misdiagnose me, ignore my pain, and attempted to force me into a procedure that I was uncomfortable with ( not even indicated based on my true diagnosis). I was already hopeless to find help from a doctor, and she continued to minimize my situation and pain. This doctor is only out for your money, and if you are uncomfortable with something, becomes aggressive and agitated with you. She would forget telehealth appointments with me, forget who I was as a patient, forget prior dates and interventions that she had already done. Put me through tests that were contra indicated for my diagnosis, completely ignored the fact that I was in excruciating pain. Do yourself a favor and find another doctor.

Dr. Kavaler is very caring. She explained things to me in a thorough way and answered my questions patiently. She’s very resourceful and she cares about her patients :) was so happy with her today

I needed to see Dr. Kavaler right away. No problem! I received an immediate appointment and once in the office was taken care of by the most professional, caring staff imaginable. And, then there's Dr. Kavaler -- calm, pleasant, warm -- a best-ever physician! I am so grateful to her, not only for her expertise in my particular problem area, but for being a great listener and a kind human being. Five stars aren't enough!

Dr. Kavaler is knowledgable compassionate physician. The office is well run and staff are responsive. She follows up after treatment and continues to be attentive if symptoms persist after treatment until there is resolution. Great Doctor, suffered for 3 months, had to come to NYC to see Dr. Kavaler to give me correct diagnosis!!

Great doctor. Explained everything in much greater detail than my previous urologist. Took a "let's keep an eye on it" approach as opposed to my previous doctor who was too eager to recommend surgery. Took her time. Seems very knowledgeable and has a great "bedside manner". Glad I found her.

I was seen at Total Urology Care of NY on June 14, 2021. From the moment I called to make an appointment, until I left the office I was treated with the highest degree of care and respect. Every single person listened carefully to me as if I was the one and only person they had to care for that day. The office itself was attractive, very functional, and particularly well organized. After weeks of suffering from a very painful infection that not responding to a myriad of antibiotics I was frustrated, weakened, and quite afraid by the time I made my appointment. I left the appointment with an explanation as to why I was not improving and what I could immediately do to heal. Dr Elizabeth Kavaler was terrific. By the very next day I was feeling significantly better. My only regret is that I did not seek her services earlier.

Dr Kavaler is wonderful- She is patient, understanding, takes the time to explain everything and makes me feel very comfortable discussing anything. Dr Kavaler is a lovely person aside from being an excellent doctor- an expert in her field!

I have just completed my treatment with Dr.Kavaler. The whole experience was positive, Dr. Kavaler is kind, thoughtful and provides all the information to make a decision. She never makes you feel rushed as she is willing to take the time to discuss any questions. She is available and does not talk down to you. She is what all doctors should aspire to be in their treatment of patients. The front office staff was very pleasant and the people doing evaluations prior to seeing the doctor were professional and courteous. I highly recommend entrusting her with your care, my quality of life has improved significantly.

Excellent diagnostician. Best and most informative office visit in years!

Not thrilled. We went to Dr Childrey at this practice as a second opinion. She added nothing to the mix. She was sweet and seemed knowledgeable but was 2.5 hours late and the staff never updated us as to why. Worse though, was that the office twice billed the wrong insurance (one that had been defunct for 6 years) even though I GAVE them my current card of which they made a copy, and also emailed a copy of the card to Dr Childrey after the first rejection. She was not happy that I dealt w her directly but said she would let the office know. I guess that never happened. Naturally the visit was rejected again. I have yet another call into them now. NOT WORTH IT. Find another practice that can handle routine insurance matters.

Office staff went the extra mile to get me an appointment. I was seen quickly and all tests were done right in the office. But the best part was Dr. Kavaler herself. She really cares and that was evident in the care I received. Recommend most highly

It was very easy to make an appointment. The staff was lovely, helpful, patient, and helps you feel welcome. The office itself is well-designed, quiet, and comfortable. Dr. Kavaler is straight-forward, informative, kind, clear when offering information, and seems very willing to answer questions.

Dr. Kavaler and her team are amazing. The welcome of the team is warm; the office has all the equipment onsite to do all tests and exams (and get results!) without any wait time; and Dr. Kavaler is wonderful. Her explanations are very clear, and her concern in one’s wellbeing is palpable - thank you.

This doctor is outstanding I have seen her as a doctor and she is the best Urogynecologist I have ever had the fortune of seeing . She is extremely knowledgeable and she is driven to do the best by her patients and give them the best care . Not only is she qualified to treat women’s health but she is also a top urologist for both men and women. She is a rare find and I have ordered this book because I trust her implicitly and love the way she handles patients needs.

I have been a patient of Dr. Kavaler for some time (I think 20 years or so) and am grateful that she is my doctor. She is extremely competent, very knowledgeable, sympathetic. I am sorry that I have my urological issue, but I am glad that Dr. Kavaler is the physician addressing my needs.

I find Dr. Kavaler very confident, knowledgeable and caring...she LISTENS!! I feel assured that my pain issue will be treated and I will start my life again. I don't know her long enough yet but I feel she won't stop until I feel better.. The staff is also terrific...very cordial and attentive.

DR. KAVALER IS VERY RESPONSIVE. IS GREAT AT RETURNING CALLS. SHE ALSO IS VERY KNOWLEDGABLE ABOUT PROS AND CONS OF DIFFERENT MEDICATIONS.

I was having pretty bad bladder issues in my late 20s-early 30s, and had been to several male urologists who all seemed to dismiss my symptoms. I found Dr. Kavaler and she immediately helped me feel at ease, never rushed, gave a proper diagnosis, and developed a treatment plan that we worked on together and evolved over several years until I was feeling better. I guess the only downside to having one of your favorite docs help you feel better, is that you don’t get to visit the office as often! ?? Highly recommend Dr. Kavaler
