For 3 months my wife can't even get a call back. We paid for her appt which she needed in order to get birth control. But she never ordered it and now has no way to get ahold of her. We have left 18 voicemails, talked to receptionist at Navarre location and have gone in twice in person. Absolutely frustrating.

Dr Esses has delivered all of my children and soon to be another one. I love her patience and knowledge and care that she has with each of her patients. I’m glad I travel over an hour to see her in Milton. She is the best there is.
Dr. Esses is a wonderful doctor but since she has joined a group she has to follow group rules and the patient care is not as good. The paper gowns are the size of a vest and I was signed up automatically for a cologuard test that cost $600 without my consent. What a mess that was.
Outstanding...from the moment I got there I was taking care very well...and the Dr...she is ????. It was Worth it my traveling... Thank you so much
Extremely Nice Staff , Had Absolutely No Problems Switching Everything Over From Santa Rosa Women's Center .
Very good doctor, very thorough and gentle. She acted like she known me forever.
First time as a patient here and it was a good experience. Dr Esses is very helpful and down to earth.

It's been 3 years since I had my daughter with this doctor and I felt like I was taken advantage of and looked down on as naive because of my age(19). I still carry trauma from my overall rushed and uneasy experience. I was told at 2 centers that if I didn't get an epidural right then that there was no telling when I could get it done later, so my being 19 and scared of the pain instead of encouraged in other ways to manage pain I got it and it failed. Which brings me to the next events that happened, when I told her I could feel everything in my left leg, she "checked" me and said I was a 10 and had me push. I know I wasn't a 10 then and I was still a 7 like 30 minutes prior because the marks on my child's head from pushing before fully dilated. She delivered the baby(7:01) and I never saw her again that night until the following morning some time. I had a horrible recovery from my "emergency C-section" which wasn't so emergent. I was terrified to find out I was pregnant the second time because I was so scared my birth was going to be the same way then bc that is what I was led to believe birth would be like Everytime, thank God! It was nothing like that and I found a midwife center that helped guide me and listened to me and didn't take advantage of me. We had a medical concern (emergency) that we needed advice on. We called over 20 times over the course of the day and never received a call back. We ended up calling another OBGYN who immediately sent us to the emergency room. When confronted about it in an appointment a week later, her response was “oh sorry”.
It’s been three years since I had my child and I still have terrors about my birthing experience. she was very rough and would aggressively stick her fingers inside me, to check me. They did bare minimum during my checkups, they let me carry my daughter until 41 weeks which caused nerve damage in my back, pumped me with a ton of pitosin putting me through 36 hours of labor, then she caused additional damage pulling on me while giving birth which led to me bleeding more than average. I believe the damage she did was out of spite! I was young & my mother got involved regarding finances and made Ms. Esses angry. This woman should not be in the medical field! lOVE HER, she delivered both of my children and always very helpful including the staff.
I was diagnosed with a blighted ovum and had a dnc. Leading up to surgery, working with Dr. Esses was an absolute nightmare. She had absolute no bedside manner and made me feel like I shouldnât have grieved it as a miscarriage. (It absolutely is.) When I asked questions about the science, (HCG levels etc.) she acted as if my uncertainty about what was happening to my body was indicative of me being deceitful or otherwise confused about the reality of the situation. She told me that I would get a call in about a week to set up the dnc which was necessary due to a risk of infection, but when I called a few days later to request a dnc earlier so that I could begin moving on, healing, and finally get back to work (you cannot go back to work for two weeks after the procedure), she asked that I drive to the clinic to discuss this with her. I then proceeded to drive to the clinic, which is about an hour away from where I live, where she began to question why I was rushing into the procedure. Her complete lack of empathy for how I felt like my body had failed and how I needed to heal physically before I could begin to move on after a very obvious failed pregnancy (I should have been 10 weeks at that time) was absolutely astounding. After the procedure, the nurse was very nice and informed me that Iâd get a call from my doctor to see how the procedure went, how Iâd healed, and how I was feeling, but I never received a call. I had to once again call the office to ask Dr. Esses those questions, but she seemed generally confused and annoyed that I was asking these questions. I also overheard her trash talking another patient, and she exhibited all the signs of a âmean girlâ who never grew up. In an additional note, the front office staff was incredibly incompetent. At one point, theyâd booked my appointment under a different name, so my grieving husband and I had to wait an additional 40 minutes for the issue to be rectified after our one hour drive to the clinic. Miscarriages are awful, and when you donât feel heard or supported by your physician, thatâs a problem. Stay away from this âdoctor.â

Dr. Esses delivered our first child and we were blessed to have her. This Doctor truly knows her stuff. She tells you like it is and we respect that. She answered all of our questions and had a commanding presence during the labor. She put my wife at ease and delivered our beautiful baby girl. I would definitely recommend her. Thank you Dr. Esses! I have a hard time writing this review, as I do not like to speak negatively of others, however, I feel as a service to other women, I need to speak up. I had my daughter 8 years ago, using Dr. Esses’ services, and I deeply regret entrusting her with an act as sacred as child birth. As this was my second child being born just 17 months after my first, my labor progressed very quickly. It was only two hours after arriving at the hospital that I was ready to begin active labor, but it simply wasn’t fast enough for Dr. Esses. The nurse warned me 30 minutes after I arrived that Dr Esses would try to induce me unnecessarily so that she could make it to her Zumba class on time, and advised me that I stand my ground and say no. Indeed, when she came into the room, Dr. Esses told me that I would need to be induced for the safety of the baby, and I politely refused. She was very upset with me, and I felt bullied for the rest of the time I spent in her presence. I am deeply grateful for the nurses that provided me with moral support when she would leave the room, and cannot thank them enough for their kindness. This may have been a coincidence, or perhaps it was a punishment, but after successfully and quickly delivering my daughter, and the after birth, I was given Pitocin, the induction medication, that evening when I was trying to rest. This drug causes the uterine to contract, and is extremely painful. As a result, I lost ALOT of blood. Again, it may have been an honest mistake, but it makes me wonder. Finally, her office never billed my Medicaid, and what should have been a covered bill, ended up being my financial responsibility, and even though they admitted their fault, they refused to absorb the cost. This was 8 years ago, and it’s possible that her practice has improved, but I simply feel called to share my experience with other women so they can make the call for themselves. Delivered both my kids - both times I was high risk- very pleased with my level of care.
Dr. Esses is an awesome doctor! I used her for my second and now my third child and HIGHLY recommend her to anyone who will listen. She always has time to hear my questions and my concerns and I never feel rushed, yet I'm always in and out in a timely manner. Her staff is amazing too! Everyone is super friendly and knowledgable. Dr. Esses is amazing, plus her staff!! she delivered my daughter and she is always so informative and helpful every time I see her for any kind of check up. Glad that I found my established OB/GYN!
She has delivered all 3 of my babies and my 1 angel baby. When I found out my last little one didn't have a heartbeat I was alone and she was very comforting and gave me a room to be alone in to process my emotions. Very direct and caring doctor.
I don’t think I’ve even been happier to put a review, for not only a Business, but for a entire staff. Dr Esses and her staff have truly been nothing less that amazing. The scariest thing in the world to me was to have another baby. After my first I was traumatized. This wonderful woman and her staff literally made the whole experience worth it. From the first appointment down to the birth of my daughter. I wish I had found her when I was pregnant with my son. I 100% recommend her!!! I wouldn’t ever go to anyone else. WOULDN’T RECOMMEND TO MY WORST ENEMY!! Apart from her general lack of of concern during regular pregnancy appointments, my postpartum care left me feeling stuck and alone. After eleven hours of labor and THREE epidurals, I was left in excruciating pain. Not only did Dr. Esses lower my pain medication dosage, claiming it was somehow incorrectly ordered (by her I might add), she also refused to speak to me regarding my discomfort. I waited from 10AM to 7PM to hear back from her on Day 1 of my recovery. During this time she was notified of my request to speak with her, stopped by the hospital to visit with other patients, and left telling the nurse she would see me the following morning. When her negligence was escalated to the hospital supervisor, a nurse reached out yet again on my behalf. Her response was to yell at the nurse for calling her at “8 at night for a non urgent matter”. She treats her patients worse than cattle putting in as little effort as possible to receive a paycheck.
HORRIBLE DOCTOR NO TYPE OF MORAL OR MEDICAL ETHICS. LACKS COMMUNICATION SKILLS. DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS DOCTOR SHE WILL TOTALLY DISCRIMINATE YOU BASED ON YOUR COLOR AND TYPE OF INSURANCE. COMPLETELY DISRESPECTFUL AND UNPROFESSIONAL . IF YOU WANT A GOOD MEDICAL EXPERIENCE I SUGGEST YOU AVOID THIS DOCTOR . SHE ALSO WORKS AT SACRED HEART EMERALD COAST, DO NOT LET HER TREAT YOU.
Horrible patient relations. I am still waiting for over a week now for test results. They don’t seem to take my health very serious. No one ever calls you back. Find another Doctor.

Dr. Esses and her team were with us through thick and thin. Their empathy, patience and knowledge is exactly what you are looking for when you embark on the journey to try to have children. We have two beautiful boys (after high risk pregnancies) and Dr. Esses was the one that kept us confident and focused on our healthy babies. So blessed to have this team in our lives! Dr Esses and her staff are awesome! This was my first pregnancy and I was confident I was in great hands from my first appointment through the entire pregnancy and after delivery. I recommend her to all of my friends when I get asked who I go to and we always discuss how great of a doctor she is! She does her own ultrasounds which is very uncommon, she has personally scheduled follow up appointments for me, and through the entire delivery/pregnancy she always made me feel safe - I knew I was in great hands! She delivers my baby from an emergency c-section after being induced. When being transferred form the delivery room to the operation room- my IV somehow got disconnected and I went through a c-section with no pain meds. She was a cold-hearted and treated me like I was being a wimp. It was the most horrible experience I’ve ever had.
Communication in this practice is not what it used to be. It took over 2 months after my annual appointment to receive a call back with results which were not normal. Not pleased at all. What happened to customer care, especially when I pay.
She delivered my daughter and I had way to many people in the room with me . . . But I ended up having to have an emergency c section and she did a wonderful job. She was so helpful with all of my questions and concerns throughout my pregnancy if I have another child I will be seeing her again !!

Dr. Esses was incredible! Her team knew me by name every time I walked through the door. I have had two 36 week babies due to Preeclampsia. Faced with a scary complication like this, I could not have asked for more from this doctor. She talked me through every step of the way, monitored both of my children closely, and did her best to make me feel at ease. She is EXTREMELY knowledgeable but approachable. I love that I knew she would be the doctor with me in the O.R. when it was time and she would do everything she could to make it an unforgettable experience. Dr. Esses was incredible! HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Our first child was with another doctor here in Santa Rosa Beach. Our 2nd and 3rd children were with Dr Esses. She was SO GOOD. There was never any question medically on what we needed to do.. she was informative and simply good at her job. Our last baby was a difficult circumstance where the baby had Trisomy 18 and was expected to not be compatible with life. She met with us regularly and demonstrated a heart of care and comfort. Leading up to the birth we felt informed and prepared as best as one could be. Thankfully we got to spend 7 hours with our baby boy after he was born before he slipped away to see his Maker. Jen and her team was with us the entire time. Never felt abandoned or uncared for. In all of our interactions, she demonstrated a proficiency and professionalism, coupled with care.
Horrible experience! Had a low blood platelet issue & was high risk patient. She treated it lightly. Was forced to deliver naturally due to low platelet count even though possible options exited. Nurse said I could have numbing meds but doc said no. About 10 hours later, I'm hemorrhaging & an having an emergency D&C due to a piece of placenta left behind. Very dangerous situation for me. I'm 6 mos postpartum & have yet to have follow up exam. Appt gets made but then they call to cancel
Dr. Esses has canceled two appointments for my family at the last minute and then wants us to wait for another 4 weeks. Horrible office and organization I would not recommend you waste your time.
The doc has an almost exclusive preference for OB patients. I have heard many recommendations for that service. For menopause patients neither the doctor nor staff have much interest in providing medical care or service. Just trying to get an appointment for a problem is nearly impossible. The young receptionist is tasked with deciding who gets to the next level person. It is uncomfortable to give highly personal medical info to an untrained & uneducated person. Patients are told to go to their primary care doc since the doc is so busy with OB appointments. This happened more than once so it was apparent that I was not a patient that they wanted. The staff and doctor appear very friendly. Until we began talking about labor/birth positions. I ended up birthing at home without her anyways, my baby just happened to arrive quick. Very friendly . Love the staff . Usually fast . Very enjoyable experience with the doctor . She's very professional and knows her babies !!!
Extremely kind, professional, knowledgable and caring. Could't of asked for a better Doctor in Dr. Esses and her staff. Beyond thankful for all of you!
Dr.Esses delivered my first child and we moved and I had two different ongyn for my other two children. She set the standards high for the other because each time I had wished I could go back to seeing her. Hard to get staff to respond to requests. Not very customer service oriented.
Dr. Esses is friendly, trustworthy, and knowledgeable. I’m currently seeing her for baby number 2. She was my doctor for baby number 1. Some complications came up late in my pregnancy, but she made me feel at ease during a very stressful time. Delivery was perfect, and aftercare was good. I wouldn’t go to a different OBGYN.
This office is horrible! I can't believe they have any patients left after the way they treat people! They never return calls and after calling back the 2nd or 3rd time then they will finally call back sometimes 2 weeks later! Then when they do talk to you, they really have no answer or solution. They almost sound like they're just making stuff up. I am so disappointed that this is who I chose to deliver my last baby... this doctor and staff are very unprofessional and rude!

Dr. Esses was professional and understanding during my pregnancy and amazing during my delivery! I highly recommend her and her staff.
Very professional and knowledgeable. She took very good care of me and my family.
The staff is very unprofessional! I had a reaction to a medication prescribed. During the course of three phone calls the same information was asked & given about my symptoms with no answers. On the third call, it sounded as if I was put on speaker phone & prompted to answer the questions again while I could hear other staff members laughing & making remarks about my answers. I am going to have to go to another doctor to fix the side effects. I am disappointed & humiliated to say the least!

I was under the care of a midwife to have an out of hospital birth. Became high risk and needed to deliver at a hospital. Dr. Esses and the staff at Sacred Heart supported me fully in a natural birth, wireless monitoring and no IV or medications. Delayed clamping, keeping placenta and limited interference/interaction afterwards as requested. She worked really well with my midwife and courteous to her being there and involved.
Dr. Esses is very friendly, and my only complaint is with her staff. Good luck getting help if you are in pain or have an emergency.
I have had 3 pregnancies with Dr Esses - and over 10 years of regular exams - and have been very pleased! I had some scary symptoms with my last pregnancy - and she coached me through them and ensured that my baby and I were taken care of. One time I ended up in the ER for a possible TIA - and she met me at the hospital. .... When she found me in the waiting room still, she took charge and had me in a room being tested within minutes. She has always gone above and beyond for me! Love her!!

I would absolutely recommend Dr. Esses and her staff. They were wonderful with my last pregnancy and delivery. They were also great when I had a miscarriage/D & C the pregnancy before that.
