I normally refrain from taking the time to write negative reviews, but with the major incompetence experienced at this doctor's office, I could not help but warn others to avoid this practice at all costs. My grandfather, whom is diabetic, recently visited this doctor's office to receive a nerve block for his spine. The doctor and the staff failed to inform my grandfather, that this nerve block shot had the potential to severely raise his blood sugar. The day of the procedure my grandfather's blood sugar levels spiked to 575, and on the following day from 300 and then back to 449. These are potentially life-threatening blood sugar levels. On top of that, his blood pressure has also significantly risen. After having contacted the doctor's office on Wednesday evening twice, the doctor did not return our calls. Instead one of his assistants, Maribel, returned the call. I am not one to ever disparage anyone, but this lady is uninformed, incompetent, and extremely disrespectful. She tried downplaying the side effects my grandfather was experiencing by stating they were just temporary. She incorrectly informed us that the medication he was given was just an anti-inflammatory, when in reality it was actually a steroid. Which any medical professional knows can cause blood sugar levels to spike. She even went as far as to tell us that we need to do a better job looking after my grandfather. These are the type of money-hungry medical professionals whom should not be allowed to practice. I have been Dr. Abad's patient for 7 years now and I would not change him for anything. I love him and his staff, they are like family to me. He knows how to manage my pain and I always come out feeling better every time I go visit him. For me he is the best, I recommend him 100%.
