We are so lucky to have found Island Reproductive! Dr. Knochenhauer and his staff are truly the best. We are are so grateful for everything that this office does and continues to do for us. Everyone is patient and kind. Even with my million phone calls, questions, and concerns, they always make me feel comfortable and cared for. Anyone seeking help with fertility should see Dr. Knochenhauer and his staff. Jackie, Alexis, Katie, Melissa, and Jessica are just a few of the amazing people there. We love Dr. K and everyone at Island Reproductive!

I was blessed with a baby with the help of a great Doctor and a caring and sweet man!!!! He went above and beyond for us to get me pregnant and it worked thank God!!!!!

This is my second pregnancy with Dr. Knochenhauer. He is very knowledgeable and will listen to all your questions with care. I’m very happy with my experience and appreciate all he has done. I highly recommend Dr. Knochenhauer and his team!

This doctor is a sham. Doesn’t accept insurance even if it’s covered. Go somewhere else. I literally spent 6 months to my life trusting this practice and got nowhere. Realized after I went to actual good fertility doctors in Manhattan that this doctor involved himself as minimally as possible with his patients. Thankfully I had the sense to go to another practice. Realized that this practice actually missed a lot. Like malpractice stuff. I ended up in Columbia and now have a healthy baby. Dr. Knochenhour and his staff are amazing, incredibly professional, friendly and informative. They treat their patients with special care and familiarity. My battle to motherhood was long and hard, but they never gave up on me. I am so grateful for Dr. Knochenhour and his amazing staff!

If you are past your prime and want a baby see Dr. Knockenheur. Make sure your insurance covers all the tests, as with any doctors office visits. He is very precise in ordering tests and you may have to draw blood once a week for upto 2 months straight. He is not cuddly sweet teddy bear type but he will get the job done! if you cant get pregnant naturally you will get pregnant with Dr. K. His right hand nurse and him are two in one, the office staff are sometimes moody but you must keep your eye on the prize and ignore them. Only do what Dr. K says and his primary nurse Katie. I got pregnant on my second IUI which is less invasive than IVF but that is because I didnt need IVF every women has a different body type. I would like to express my deepest gratitude to Dr Knochenhauer and his elite staff at Island reproductive services. Words cannot describe the degree and level of compassion and professionalism I received. My personal situation was extremely precarious but I required specialized care. Not only did I receive paramount care, I received compassion and understanding like never before. It’s an amazing feeling to have a doctor and nurses that you can trust, but it’s incredible to feel like a part of their family as well. They have surpassed the call of duty and I am forever thankful and in their debt. They are my angels.

Great doctor, really cares about his patients and has an exceptional rate of success. We were referred to him by our primary care physician and we couldn't have been more pleased.

My husband and I tried on our own to conceive a child for 4 years. I researched fertility doctors and a good friend of mine recommended doctor Knockenhauer. I was very anxious to go see a fertility doctor knowing the journey I was about to endure. After having my first appt. with Dr. K my anxiety immediately eased up. Dr. K took his time with both me and my husband to explain all our options thoroughly . He was not quick or pushy to do anything I did not feel comfortable doing. He supported our decisions but at the same time gave us his professional opinion and our odds. He, was so caring, nurturing and really took my anxiety with him every step. After we had failed iuis we sat down and he spoke to us about invitro. I never thought or expected this was the way we had to get pregnant but with Dr. K as my doctor I was no longer nervous. After one round of IVF I have my baby girl. We will love knock!

Horrible person. Rude and doesn’t listen.

I don't even want to give this guy 1 star. What a horrific experience. He was invalidating and rude, dismissed the concerns I had about my symptoms, minimized my symptoms, and laughed in my face when I disclosed a personal choice I had made regarding my own body and medical history. I could not recommend him less. Arrogant, rude, and should not be a doctor dealing with anyone, especially women. He attempted to tell me what to do with my body and the future choices he "guaranteed" I would make about my body in the future. DO NOT see this guy. Thankfully, he had a medical student do my exam, otherwise I would not have gone through with the physical examination. I don't even want to give this guy 1 star. What a horrific experience. Best doctor ever! Dr. Knochenhauer is very knowledgeable about his entire practice. He does not sugar coat the facts and is very honest when it comes to the possible outcome. My husband and I saw him since January 2017. He sent us both for thorough testing before anything. As a woman of advanced maternal age, he was very honest with us both. It took time and patience. My experience with Dr. knochenhaur was nothing short of amazing. I felt extremely comfortable, he was very thorough and answered all questions I wanted to know. His surgical team at Staten Island university north including, anesthesiologists, residents, and nurses were an absolute pleasure. They were very friendly made me feel safe and really made it easier for me as I was very anxious about surgery. I highly recommend Dr. Knochenhaur. I cannot express this enough-this doctor will rob you for everything you have, And that means financially and emotionally. I got pregnant naturally 1 month before my consultation with him. I have a lot of scar tissue, 4 past surgeries & issues with fibroids. I lost the pregnancy at 6 weeks & decided to see a specialist. First, it was my “hormones were off” then it was “you’re not ovulating each month”... then it was, “your Fallopian tubes shifted from past surgeries (mind you I got pregnant naturally before my consultation). After my consultation & tests he felt IVF was my only option! I did not feel comfortable with that idea & felt it was necessary to rule out everything before jumping to IVF. It’s been 9 months straight now with tons of bloodwork, so many tests including SHG and HSG, ultrasounds every week, 4 different medications & injections & yet I can’t get pregnant. I told him Clomid made me severely depressed & suicidal & he didn’t take it seriously. Will be going elsewhere!!!

Bad doctor, I wasted nearly $25,000 and a year with this guy, I found out later with another doctor that he did not do the proper testing to find out the issues I was having with getting pregnant. He is never on time for his appointments and he does take the time to find out how to properly treat his patients, overall he does not respect the time of his patients. He is also scared of this staff to the point in which it inconveniences his patients. I gave this doctor a chance and he blew it! I would not recommend anyone to this doctor. His staff is extremely rude and after my initial consult I never saw him again. He left everything to a nurse. He did zero test on me and went right to IUIs. After two failed IUIs and reaching my limits with his rude staff my husband and I found another doctor. Whom ran all the appropriate test on myself and husband. I actually require surgery and the likelyhood of my husband and I conceiving in anyway but IVF is extremely low. I truly believe that this practice needs to be reviewed for competency and that the insurance companies may want to make sure that he isn't just running up tabs before actually trying to help the patient. He is very straightforward and isn't afraid to tell it how it is. That might be difficult for some people because it can come of the wrong way. His staff are very understanding and compassionate. Wait times at the office are very long though so me prepared to wait an hour for an appointment.

I was referred to Dr. Knockenhauer by my Ob-Gyn and I couldn’t of been happier with the entire experience. From the initial visit I felt very comfortable and that I was in good hands. All of The staff from the front desk, who was very nice and also knew my name before I even had to say it, the ultrasound Tech who was so sweet, gentle and friendly, the phlebotomist who I saw regularly for months always made the process quick and painless, than there was Katie my nurse was very helpful with all of my questions, very understanding and made this process easier for us & Dr. Knochenhauer is absolutely the best, very direct & informative every step of the way.. in a time we’re your most vulnerable it’s so crucial to feel you have the support you need and my husband & myself definitely felt supported and comfortable here. Thankfully our time here was shorter than we expected, we are expecting our first child and couldn’t be more thankful for every single staff member this office. I warn everyone NOT to use this doctor. He isn't not thorough. His office is unorganized. After my 3rd failed IUI, this doctor was quick to push IVF. My husband and I had 2nd thoughts about this doctors (just gut feeling). A 2nd opinion, recommended having a laparoscopy. We learned that i not only had endometriosis but other complications that would have prevented me from getting pregnant. Dr Knockenhauer wasted our time and money.

Dr. Knochenhauer is a smart guy with terrible bedside manner and miserable staff. His biggest problem is that he's always late. He was not only over an hour late for each of my embryo transfers ( imagine waiting for so long with a full bladder!) but was also more than an hour late for my egg retrieval and that was inexcusable as it ruined my cycle. His staff's resonse to my complaint about him being late for such important procedures was: "He's known to be late." WHAT?? Horrible experience!

My Gyn doctor recommended me to see Dr Knochenhauer because I needed a hysterectomy. I went on his website to see the reviews and was a little skeptical because of some negative reviews. I went to the office right before the surgery and a few times after the surgery. I must say I'm very happy with each and everyone of my visits. Dr Knochenhauer and the entire staff were very respectful and helpful. If anyone is in need of a reproductive Dr I totally recommend Dr Knochenhauer.

Dr. Knochenhauer is an amazing doctor. During my journey he was kind, compassionate and very patient. He explained all of my options and listened when I expressed concerns. He was determined to help me and would not give up on me. I'm not sure I would've made it through the process without Dr. K. I have recommended him to my friends and will definitely return to him when I'm ready to have another child. I can't say thank you enough Dr. K!
