Excellent Dr

Dr Lichtenstein is the third Ophthalmologist I’ve met so far during my journey with my son. He was the best by far, very friendly, extremely informative, knowledgeable and most important he made my son comfortable and happy during a long two part exam. I had a lot of questions and he fully took the time to answer each of them. His entire office staff was pleasant and professional. I will recommend him to anyone looking for a pediatric ophthalmologist. I’m so happy my PCP referred us to him.

Excellent Doctors. Ladies at the front desk are excellent. Unfortunately, you guys should really stop recommending to purchase glasses a few doors down from at Little Optics . The Office manager at Little Optics is incredibly rude and arrogant. She seemed annoyed that I entered the store. Dr Lichtenstein is an amazing doctor, very competent and great with nervous children. Hard to get an appt with him, but he is worth the wait and the trip to queens. Easy parking around the fresh meadows office.

I've taken my daughter to numerous appointments and this place by far was the absolute worst. Upon scheduling this appointment with Joan one of the secretary I explained the entire situation to her about my child's dignosis she won't keep a mask on ,she have behaviours and that I will be there to support she told me not a problem at all they've dealt with individuals with disabilities.. along with myself we was treated in the most horrific way possible. however, once we arrived, after seeing the Dr. Eric Lichtenstein, who was extremely dismissive, we were lead outside to stand in the cold. When I phoned from the sidewalk to questioned why my daughter's and I was sent outside, I was told because my daughter wasn't wearing a mask, was aggressive and the doctor didn't want her to scare the other patients. Excuse me, yes my daughter can be aggressive, but not towards others only if she feels like am letting people hurt her or only if she sense a treat However, if you standing at a distance and spraying her eyes like she is not human of course anyone will act out and that exactly what the Eric was doing with that spray that I hated also at the time there was only one other person in the waiting area. Dr Eric did my strabismus surgery on my left eye recently and it went so well, the whole process from start to finish was so smooth and effortless. Thank you! This was life-changing.

Wow! What an amazing Doctor Mr. Lichtenstein is. He has a great sense of humor, he loves what he does and shows it by the way he cares for his patient's, All around a Great Guy! I found the staff at this office to also be great. For sure I will be recommend this office.

This pediatric eye doctor is so unprofessional and organized. If you call them they won’t answer, and put you on hold for long periods of time. The staff are also rude and do not greet you. I had to stand outside with my mother in the hot sun for a while before they finally came outside and said we have to reschedule for a mistake on their end. I had several days thinking in the right words to write this review because there are not enough words to express my gratitude for Dr. Eric A. Lichtenstein. Because I had a condition called exotropia, surgery was recommended to me, but just that word makes me nervous, adding that I am a very apprehensive patient, no easy to treat. The thing is that after visiting around 8 ophthalmologist and contemplate that possibility for some years . Dr. Lichtenstein was the only one that makes me feel confident about that decision, making the process so smooth and relax. He is kind, attentive, so passionate, and dedicated at the moment he is doing something, adding that the office is extremely clean and cute. My daughter didn’t do well on her eye test during her physical, so our Pediatrician advised us to see a Pediatric Opthalmologist. The ones referred all seemed to have bad reviews so I went looking out of my 5 mile radius for a place where my daughter who was already nervous about needing glasses would feel comfortable. This office is taking all the necessary COVID precautions. The waiting room is setup so that you are no where close to anyone else. The Doctor we saw was very sweet and caring with my daughter and we had a very positive experience. I wish I had gotten her name! Most ophthalmology appointments can be around two hours due to a wait and the time it takes for diIation, but I was surprised at how efficient they were with timing. We were out in an hour. In order for me to adequately express my gratitude for Dr.Lichtenstein, I must first provide some back story. We are a military family that has spent the better part of the last few years traveling. During this time we had a wonderful little girl whom we noticed had trouble keeping her eyes straight from the start. I spent hours trying to convey this fear to numerous pediatricians until finally we were referred to a specialist, who prescribed my daughter glasses at 1 year old and continuously assured us that the wearing of these glasses would correct the problem. Time continues to pass and the problem worsens to the point where it is visible at all times. We sought out many other pediatric specialists for a second opinion and all either didn’t know how to properly examine a toddler or turned us away completely. It was at this time I found Dr.Lichtenstein online and made an appointment. From the first day he was very attentive and compassionate to our small daughter’s needs. Not only did he identify the source of the problem, a year later he performed the surgery to correct it all together. Meeting him was truly a godsend. He had patience even through my daughters tantrums and stuck with her throughout each appointment. There’s not enough thanks or gratitude that I can give Dr.Lichtenstein because he truly alleviated a pain that my daughter had to deal with her entire life. The pleasant experience begins right at the time of booking where the office staff are also kind and respectful, qualities lost in many today. Dr Lichtenstein is an awesome doctor. He makes my daughter relax when he’s examining her. He’s also performed two surgeries in her. He is extremely knowledgeable in his field and most of all, has a lot of compassion.

The staff is so pleasant and polite. Dr Lichtenstein is such a wonderful Dr. My son came from another Opthomologist. I am so much happier with Dr Lichtenstein. He examined my sons eyes, agreed and understood my concerns, gave me options and other alternatives. We both felt surgery was best. He performed surgery and it was a total success. What a great experience!! I took my 2yr old to get her eyes checked & was interested to see how they would conduct the exam being that she can't express if something is blurry or not like we adults can, to my surprise the exam went extremely well Dr. Lichtenstein was absolutely wonderful. He was patient, creative & most importantly friendly and informative. My daughter didn't cry or feel uncomfortable at all & the rest of the staff was pleasant. Staffs are not co-operative and rude. They are very rude and strict. They wouldnt let my daughter see the doctor because I was not there. Would not be lenient with their time and gave me 5 minutes to show up. Would not reccomend this place. Just an addendum to my review: I called them and requested to move the appointment by half an hour to 1 hour because something unexpected came up. I was not able to bring my daughter so I called an uber there just to get her there. Once she got there, she was unable to miss the appointment. My son came in for an appointment as he had an issue with his eye. He was seen as a walk in for the emergent case which I was grateful for, however, Dr. Lichtenstein was insensitive when I made comments towards my mother about the diagnosis. I do not feel it was his place as a doctor to comment on my beliefs about the family dynamics in my household( it was something contagious my son was diagnosed with and I was extremely upset at the moment). My 5 month old son had his tear duct opened up. Dr. Lichtenstein was amazing with him. Explained everything very well and allowed me the time to ask all the questions I needed to ask. I went to visit doctor Eric Lichtenstein for my son's chalazion and I was very worried about it. He was very nice and Bonnie as well. Dr. Lichtenstein was wonderful. He explained the diagnosis after examining my eyes thoroughly, and was very reassuring that he would be able to correct the strabismus. Staff is extremely helpful, and made scheduling the surgery as easy as possible. The surgical facility was also excellent. I am claustrophobic and was nervous about procedures on my face, but I was made comfortable. Most importantly, I no longer have double vision, am able to drive and even walk more confidently. I (my 9yrs old daughter) have been visiting there Woodside location since 2014. They were on 61st st. If you are not white or Hispanic, you shouldn't visit this place. The front desk screwed up my daughters appointment, (even though they confirmed the appt time previous day) when we arrived, they said different appt time and brushed us off. They didn't even look at us. A Spanish speaking women were standing next to us and they had all kind of conversation. I waited for another ten minutes and tried to get her attention, but she could care less. Finally I left that place feeling the Trump effect on non white people. We found another Ophthalmologist whose office took my daughter as patient. I tried to forget the whole incident and my daughter do the same. If you care your child, go somewhere else. I made the appointment for Dr Regina M. Del Rosario, I made sure she is an MD not an OD. My husband went with my daughter. I saw the paperwork after and found out they had different doctor's name on the paperwork instead- Tehara C. Bailey. I googled her name and showed her picture to my husband and he said that is not the doctor he met. My husband said first it is a Chinese young guy did the refraction eye exam for my daughter, then a young lady did the eye test for my daughter. From the paperwork i got back, there is only one Chinese name listed on the list (YI Xing He) and he is an OD and the young lady that did the test we don't know who is she. The office did not mention anything to my husband about this new doctor. This new doctor is very very young, don't have alot of experiences compares with other. Also, after I made the appointment for my daughter, i called and tried to make another appointment for my son, the office asked me what is the reason to come, I told them my children's pediatrician wanted us to see the Pediatric Ophthalmologist to check out his eye. They told me Rivka L. Markowitz is available to see my son. After the phone call, I googled the name of the doctor and found out Ms Rivka L. Markowitz is not an Ophthalmologist, she is an Optometrist. I don't have to come here and pay extra money if I want to see an Optometrist. I called them back and changed to a different doctor. But with my daughter's experience, I cancelled my son's appointment with them. I will not come here again. I been taking my daughter to Eric Lichtenstein since 2013 she's 3 yrs old. What i can say about him he really cares for the kids that walk thru his doors, he makes you feel super comfortable and always makes my daughter laugh and smile. My daughter had two surgery procedures by him, at first me and my husband was very worried about her going through her first surgery at a young age. This was the first time that anyone of our kids had to have any surgery's done but all the fear went out the window once Dr. Eric Lichtenstein explained every part of it and made us feel so comfortable even when i was crying when she had to be put to sleep. So when it was time for another surgery we knew she was in good hands. I will rate his professionalism a 100% and i will highly recommend anyone to take your children to him he is by far a genuine person and take his work very serious. My wife has been a patient of Dr. Lichtenstein since Nov., 2016. She was referred to him by a neuro-ophthalmologist because of a condition causing strabismus following prior surgery to remove a pterygium in August. He performed the surgery and she experienced immediate relief though it is beginning to grow back again. He is working with us on a plan of action to continue to deal with this matter. We have very high regard for this doctor and would not hesitate to recommend him to others.
