Dr. Erik L Torgerson

We've been on hold for nearly 2 hours trying to schedule an appointment. It's clear that whomever is supposed to be answering phones is ignoring people on hold. This is completely unprofessional and the entire office should be ashamed.

I have been seeing Dr. Torgerson for the past 4 years after being repeatedly disappointed by my Urologist at another hospital. Dr. Torgerson is kind, professional, is consultative and listens to my input on suggestions for treatment. I never feel rushed when I am with him. I can't say this with too many of my healthcare providers, but I trust Dr. Torgerson 100% with my needs - I feel blessed to have such a great provider! Dr. Torgerson may be a highly competent urologist for some of his patients but not for all. My husband and I had a nightmare experience with him in 2008. He completely misdiagnosed my husband's medical crisis, caused by a devastating "error" by the radiology team at Swedish. When Dr. T was proven wrong by an exam and scope, he swore (F bomb) and flew out the door. No joke. My husband had a badly burned bladder, and he didn't like being wrong. Instead of apologizing, he came back in and started blah blah blahing about the burns and then rattled off numbers that were obviously another patient's. Needless to say, I stood up and confronted him. I told him we were leaving and not coming back, to which he said, "No, you are not. You are my patient now, and I'm under stress because of the high cost of practicing in this facility." We left immediately, with my husband's catheter still in his burned bladder. We never saw him again. And if you are reading this review, Dr. T, I hope you cringe. I was a teacher at both the high school and college levels before I retired, and I had to answer for the mistakes I made. So do you. Dr Torgerson has been an excellent and very knowledgeable urologist. He has saved me the pain of several prostate biopsies by using advanced DNA testing techniques and evaluation over time. His assistants are also very kind and caring.

I had TURP Surgery performed by Dr. Torgerson on February 27, 2020. It went very well. He has been my urologist for a number of years and he's excellent. I highly recommend him

I was referred to Dr, Torgerson by a multi practice clinic other than his affiliation and have been going to him for about 15 years. He is an humane, fully trained urologist who is a good listener and takes times to explain care, procedures, tests and treatment options and timing. He also uses trained staff in an effective manner. I’ve been to Virginia Mason and Polyclinic urologists. Dr. Torgerson is superior in all respects. He listens better, connects the dots, comes up with better solutions. No malpractice or refusal to treat sexual function issues like his sub-par competitors. Couldn’t be happier. He also performs delicate procedures himself, rather than delegating to women in their early 20s who actually draw blood by damaging the urethra. That’s Virginia Mason. Only one choice: Erik Torgerson.

So glad I drove to Seattle to see this doc. Well worth it! He knew all about what I had read about online and was already ordering all the tests. Very smart and also funny and calming with a great bed side manor. I wish he was a primary care doctor!

Great guy and great Doctor!

Dr. Torgerson led me through a difficult Prostate Cancer experience that required radiation and surgery. The outcome was excellent and I am cured thanks to his experience and good judgement. I greatly appreciated his thorough analysis of my condition and timely resolution which saved my life. His administrative/clerical office support was slow at times, such as getting messages to him.

Dr. Torgerson spent time during the office visit discussing the various BPH procedures. Both my wife and I were impressed by his thoroughness and the time that he spent explaining the procedures. Last week he performed a biopolar TURP procedure on me at Swedish Hospital in Seattle. Today, he personally called me with results of pathology and to inquire about how I was recovering. I would highly recommend Dr. Torgerson.
