She was absolutely horrible! I wish I could leave no stars. I went to the hospital for headaches, dizziness, and nausea. I told the doctors upon arriving that I have a VP shunt and I think it is causing my headache that I have had for 3 days. I started vomiting. They scheduled a shunt scan for me. They put me in the nureosurgean area or wing or branch whatever it is called part of the hospital. The test was scheduled for the next morning. Later on my first day, Dr. Amiri came in to my room. She wasn't dressed like a normal doctor in scrubs. She appeared to me to be wearing normal street clothes and cute shoes instead of sneakers. I saw a stethescope and thought, maybe she is a doctor. At this point she had not introduced herself. She went to the computer. I saw her log in so I figured she was not some crazy person off the street that got past security. She then introduced herself as my doctor. I thought well that's odd because I already looked up the nureosurgean they assigned and it was not her. She then tells me I need to eat. I told her that if I am having surgery the next day, I really shouldn't be eating. Then she said I wouldn't be having surgery. My heart sank. Not only would I not have surgery but I also wasn't getting the shunt test with dye contrast like the PA from the ER said I would. I didn't know what to do. Something inside me was telling me ignore her, don't eat, call the nurse. I pushed the nurse button. Amiri pushed it again and said she would take care of me. I felt stuck. If I run down the hall, I might be admitted to the psych ward. If I push the nurse button she would just cancel it. I caved and ordered dinner. Of which I took forever to eat due to not feeling well at all. My stomach was queazy. I slept off and on sitting up in bed. Keep in mind sitting up is better than laying down because the shunt drains better sitting up. Amiri came back in the morning. She told me it was my hormones and it was not my shunt. She prescribed some migraine meds and discharged me. It is now 3 days later. I am sitting at home taking notes on almost every headache I get. They ALL point to my shunt, none to hormones. They are worse when I lay down. Stabbing pains upon standing. This has been constant for the last 3 days. I have taken 3 of the prescibed pills. 2 the night I got home. I took 2 in 3 hours, it didn't change the headaches at all. I feel it actually makes the headaches worse. I took 1 out of desperation last night and once again no relief. I refuse to go back to the hospital in fear of getting her as my doctor again. I made an appointment with a nureosurgean at another hospital for Tuesday. I am soooooo happy to have another doctor so soon to get me in quickly. Amiri does not listen to people. She acts nice and bubbly but really she has her own agenda and doesn't give her patients what they need. I am not happy with her at all. Worst doctor I have EVER had.

She was condescending. Didn't even take time to hear my concerns and what kind of pain I've been going through!
