Dr. Francis Essien

I had a consultation with this guy and was rudely shushed when I was asking questions. He was crazy rude and I highly suggest you look elsewhere. No run!!! That being said, his nurse was very nice.

I should have read the reviews but I was referred to this Dr. Essien. He was pretty rude and the experience was so non professional. I left there thinking there is no way I would allow any type of surgery from this man. He does not answer any questions and makes a person feel dumb for asking the questions. Waste of time. I read the reviews prior to my visit with Dr Essien and thought Maybe the patients were Exaggerating ,How can a Dr be like that , But YES he was a very Rude and got annoyed with me Trying to explain where my pain was . The worst for me and why I walked out of the Room was the rolling of his eyes and kept putting his hand on his forhead with a Discussed looked in his face. As long as he's making money for the practice nothing's gonna happen , But hopefully patients will read the reviews and not schedule with him , front desk and the M.A. were great . Rude, narcissistic person. Didn't have that great of an experience with him or his so called assistant.

My wife Betty has had two operations by Dr. essence the first one hiata hernia failed the second one he sewed it all up and it came apart again we don’t know what to do she doesn’t want to go for another operation and she’s in terrible pain he doesn’t follow up with anything to tell us what to do anything he says oh it’s hereditary his daughter has it stuff like that I called the number and the phone just keeps ringing maybe He will read this and contact us. Dr. Essien is the absolutely worse doctor I have ever had. I am paralyzed from a medical accident. I use a motorized wheelchair. I have many health issues. I went for a consult and I could not believe the things he said to me. Without even reading my history, he told me I was not paralyzed but just had weak legs. He also said some of my health issues were not real and he never heard of them (intercostal blocks...you can google it and have the answers within seconds). He would ask me a question then cut me off before I could even answer. The worse was that he didn't think he could work with me since I can't stand on a scale to get my exact weight. I asked him does that mean he doesn't work with handicap patients? He was annoyed by my question. After more of this verbal abuse, I told my husband "I'm done". I stopped him and said this will not work. I told him that he should be ashamed of himself and that he was rude and just plain cruel. I left crying. I have dealt with so much since I became paralyzed. Dr. Essien's lack of compassion for working with patients already trying to have the courage for bariatric surgery, he should be fired. Dr. Essien is one rude and self absorbed doctor I ever know. No bedside manners and just disrespectful. Didn't apologize for his tardiness(45 mins late) and didn't introduce his minions that followed him into the room. Who has a scale in the supply office? God Bless those who work with him. Patients if you don't have any self respect or have an ice block as a heart he's your guy. If you're human in anyway, I suggest you find a Surgeon that has a heart and bedside manners. Just terrible! Amazing dr with great staff!!!

Went in for a consultation regarding having several lipomas removed. He had terrible bedside manner. Did not make me feel comfortable at all and treated me like I was just another patient. Did not act like he cared about my concerns or worries. He made me feel incompetent when I asked one question, which was in regards to scarring. He didn’t care about how I felt, didn’t actually ask me any questions during the consultation, and seemed rushed. I have decided there is no way I will be allowing this man to make any incisions on my body and after reading the reviews, I see I was not the only one. I will be finding another surgeon who treats patients with more respect and makes them feel valued as individuals.

The follow up care was lacking. Called several times to make post op appointments calls would go 3 to 4 weeks then I would get the run around. Very disappointing gave up after 9 months of trying to schedule.

Amazing staff, Kim is such a sweet great always there is I have any questions! Doctor essien is for sure one amazing doctor. Thank you all for making my experience great!????

I love Dr Essien, he’s a very kind and compassionate Doctor, he took the time explaining the procedure and what I was to expect before and after surgery, he made me feel very relaxed and that I was in very capable hands, he let me ask questions and he answered them very satisfactory, I was never not in the know, I highly recommend Dr. Essien

Terrible bedside manner. Will not recommend him.

I am extremely grateful to have had Dr Essien performe gastric bypass on me 2 years ago. I was 248lbs. I've lost 110 lbs and I'm healthier then ever!!! My current weight is 138lbs !!! Loving my new life ? thank you and your very supportive and caring staff!!!

This good very good man by his God given gift helped me dramatically and amazingly to have another beginning in my life, my testimony is that from been very sick and under many medications to take none! It had been awesome, (except for the vitamins needed to stay in track upon my new life) and to been unemployed to been blessed with a job it is just unbelievable! I would not recommend Dr. Essien to care for any of my family member's including myself. He is a general assemly line physician. If you want quality care travel west to physician's with more experience. Its unfortunate that we had to add even 1 star to rate. Please seek multiple medical opinions before accepting such invasive care such as surgery.

Excellent surgeon, who takes time with his patients and great bedside manner. I would recommend him 10/10.

He did my mom's hernia surgery at Inland valley regional in Murrieta CA in Feb 2016. I was having stomach pain for three days from what I thought was too much ibprophen. Wrong. I drove myself to Murrieta Loma Linda ---at 315am arrived. By 730am I was told it was My appendix. It was slightly inflamed. Dr. Francis Essien did my surgery. It was lacroscopic so I have three small incisions. I was rolled in at 820am. He is a great surgeon. I trust him. Just try not to have surgery on a Sunday. He did not see me when I woke up at 930am. Dr. Essien is a very knowledgeable, caring, trustworthy, surgeon who goes the extra mile for his patients. Although the thought of having surgery can be frightening, having Dr. Essien as my surgeon alleviated my anxieties throughout the whole process of pre-surgery appointments up to the follow-up appointments. Dr. Essien is a wonderful surgeon and I recommend him to all my friends and family. If you want an excellent doctor and superb surgeon, call Dr. Essien's office.

I would recommend Dr Essien due to his kindness, complete explanations when answering questions. His pleasant demeanor. Soft spoken caring tone. Work ethic is excellent, dependable .
