Dr. Francis Gerard Martinis

I have been a patient of Dr. Martinis for many years and he has always handled my health with the utmost care and sincerity. Definitely recommend him. I always recommend him to all my friends and family as well. I trust him with my well being.

Dr Martinis has been very thorough with my exams and recommendations. Visit annually to maintain prostate health and or treatment for any issues. While reception at front is important re customer service I’m more interested in the services I receive from the doctor. There are a lot of medical office staff out there that I’ve had less than desirable interactions with but as I said the bottom line is my interactions and treatment by my physician. Having said that DrMartinis is my go to Urologist

An important part of a good doctor is an even better staff. I didnt get past the point of a phone call to set up an appointment. If the phone people are unpleasant, why would I go beyond that Point. How a patient is treated on all points is just as important. If your job is to answer phones/set up appointments, appreciate your position and treat everyone how you want to be treated. I have been a patient of Dr. Martinis for some time, and I have always found him to be an excellent physician. He is extremely cautious, and is not afraid to take the time necessary to check and double check potential urologic issues, as he will not take chances with a patient’s life. Saw Martinez in August for an annual checkup which he performed in record time. I had to ask him how the prostate felt, oh very normal. well what a difference a month make, went to Stony Brook with gross hematuria. I’ve been on a foley for 2 weeks. By the way, I called his office when I started the bleed and they offered me an appointment a week later. Cmon doc you can do better than that! if you go to the port Jefferson office be advised in an emergency he has no hospital privileges There..

The Port Jefferson office's desk staff lacks empathy and does not handle stressed out patients well. Two of three appointments had to be rescheduled. The staff that calls is cold, unfriendly, and unsympathetic to a man who is waiting to find out if he has cancer. She was just matter of fact, with an attitude that implies "too bad, nothing I can do, and that's that." Not overly impressed by the doctor either, but the staff is the deciding factor for changing doctors in this instance.

Visited doctor several times for kidney stones and pain. Refuses to call me back after leaving several messages. His receptionist is in charge of giving patients medical advice and test results. Completely unprofessional.

I was able to get an appointment within a few days. Dr. Martinis is very professional, and always takes the time to discuss any questions I may have. I have been seeing him for years, and appreciate his dedication.

Quickly got an appt. after a cancellation by another patient. Polite and friendly staff. Dr. Martinis is always friendly and professional.

Have used this office for many years, and it is not the same. One of the original staff members is wonderful and compassionate, while the others are loud young girls. In the past, when I called because I had a UTI, I would be fit in the same day due to pain. Now they try to give you an appointment in a week or more, and tell you to go to your primary Doctor. I will never go back, and will be making an appointment with another urologist who is very highly recommended and run like a medical office

Dr. whom I've seen about 6 times previously, about incontinance and urinary tract infection.I wanted to get a test for excessive urination, burning sensation, pain in upper back. Dr. wanted to know if I had had blood work done recently. When I told him that it had been about 6 months since I had had blood work done he seemed to become furious and told me this wasn't his field. . He was a UROLOGIST. He was very, very rude to me. Will never see him again.
