Seriously the worst doctor I've ever seen. He offers basically no care and I've had more thorough tele-med visits than his in office appointments. I first visited him in 2021 and gave him the benefit of the doubt about his lack of exam (didn't even listen to my heart) & his pushy behavior about getting a COVID vax as related to the ongoing situation. This year he again didn't physically examine me in any way and the only stats recorded were by assistants for my weight, pulse, heart rate and medication changes. No listening to my heart. NO EKG to monitor heart function. No exam of my limbs to see if I was retaining water since my weight had increased which is a sign of heart failure. Then when changes I asked about were made to my meds he told me to take it in the morning when it's recommended to take at night due to side effects that may impact day to day activity. When asked about that he was clearly unhappy about it & my request to have a 90 day Rx written to save money.

Dr. Schwender gave me back quality of life. I had been misdiagnosed for 2 years by a neurologist. Within one month or so of testing helps able to find my issue. I ended up finding that my heart was stopping - a greater than 3 sec pause. I received a pacemaker & it has changed my life. He may not be for everyone but he helped me.

Would give zero stars if I could. My son-in-law was so full of fluid he was double in size! Put him on a water pill and took him off one of his blood pressure meds. Two days later his son found his dad sitting on the couch dead from a massive heart attack in the night because of the enormous amount of fluid around his heart. After embalming he shrunk down maybe 1/4 but was still blown up and Yardley looked like himself! He should have been admitted to the hospital immediately and start dating all that fluid out of him that literally killed him! A water pill two days earlier couldn't save him! What a quack!!! My mom went to Dr. Schwender, at first she thought he was great. Then she had to go in for a 6 month follow up, and all he did was listen to her lungs ( This from a Cardiologist) and she was getting ready to ask some questions, and he said see you in 6 months and left the room. Her PCP wanted her to ask about issues she was having, and she had questions about some other things and he cut her off without giving her the chance to talk. I, ( her daughter) called the office manager to explain what happened, and the lady was rude and kept saying that because she did not have someone in the room with her that what my mom was saying was not true. So basically called my mom a liar! Not good practice if you ask me to be rude to the patient, and the patients family member! Did not even listen to her Heart! Only her lungs! Did not even exam her!

My husband had just spent 9 months in the hospital from a systemic MRSA infection. He showed signs of a-fib in the hospital so our family dr. referred us to Dr Schwender for follow up. He implanted a loop monitor into my husband's chest. We went every week for follow up visits. The wound was obviously becoming infected. Dr Schwender would not listen when we told him my husband was being followed by an infectious disease doctor, and he called in an antibiotic for "the redness". Our pharmacist refused to fill the Rx because it could have a "fatal intrraction" with my husband's daily meds. Last night, the wound opened and the monitor popped out! Now we are at a major hospital over an hour away being treated for the infection and having the wound closed!

TERRIBLE bedside manner. My mother was told if she had fallen a day earlier, it would've been better because he had one hour until he was going on vacation. He was the on-call cardiologist at the hospital. I would NEVER recommend Dr. Schwender.

He does not listen to his patiants and told my hisband he had blockage at the bottom of hos heart. Which was not turn he had scar tissue at the bottom of his heart due to having a heart attack. And everytime my hisband went to see him he ignored his symptoms and just said there was nothing wrong sent him back to work which lead to a second minnor heart attack due to mistreatment. So would never suggest this doctor to anyone that I know. Because if they truly care about their loved ones like I do they would want only the best for them. And this man is not the best. Hes all about pushing the patiant out to get to the next one fast because insurance pays the bills.... Dr. Schwender saved my life. If not for him I probably wouldnt be alive. He didnt waste time running the right tests and his recommendations were excellent as far as hospital and recommended surgeon for my operatiom! So I give him a 5 Star ***** He also changed medications another doctor prescribed which was hurting my mother and got her stable on some new ones !!
