Dr. Gary M Minkiewicz

Terrible doctor to work with. He needs to retire. He has no bedside manners. Acts like a smart aleck. Each time with my 2 visits he made me feel so beneath him. He's rude and doesn't really let you finish what you need to say nor does he explain things clearly. I actually did not know I had any heart issue until I read it on MyChart. Made comments on my 2nd visit after visit summary on things he did not do nor check. I wrote a reply and called him out on it too. I received a phone call from him with an apology. I wouldn't recommend this Jerk. I wouldn't put my heart in his care.

Dr. Gary M took the time to keep me informed of my current meds and changed my Cholesterol med to better treat my cholesterol. He has always taken the time with me to keep me on track over the past 15 years.

Office staff was nice, however Dr. Minkiewicz was not pleasant at all. Took my 78 year old mother to him and the whole appointment he criticized her for being late. Apparently they want you to be there 30 minutes before appt, but they did not tell me that when I made the appointment. One time would have sufficed for him to tell us about the policy, but he kept on and on about her being "late", even though we were there at 11:25 for an 11:30 appt. As we were leaving he said "maybe next time you can be on time". So uncalled for. She was nearly in tears. Also, he asked her to describe what the feeling she was having in her chest felt like, and when she did, he mocked her and said he had never heard of that. She doesn't want to go back to him. I know doctors are important, but they shouldn't make elderly, sick people feel bad. Office staff was nice, however Dr. Minkiewicz was not pleasant at all. Took my mother to see him. He was so rude and arrogant. We left with her nearly in tears and not wanting to go back. Office staff was nice. I will be calling to see if she can see another cardiologist in the practice.

He was my cardiologists for about 5 years. Finally small things added up or didn't quite make sense such as beginning an office visit with another patients' record until we caught it, using exaggerated medical history to recommend a med, etc. I changed docs. Recently he was on weekend hospital duty for his practice when I was hospitalized. He discharged me with a meds list with a med I had been taking previously but had been stopped because of dangerous interaction with a new medication.

I really do not like to give negative reviews, but in this case I feel compelled. This doctor hardly ever even looked me in the face when I visited him. Spends all his time typing into his computer. I feel as if he didn't even listen to a word I said. I will be seeing another physician in the group and if I am not permitted to do this, I will have to find another group. I have been under cardiac care since 1992. I was with the same physician in Florida for over 25 years
