Mr. Gary W Misamore

I have an axillary nerve entrapment on EMG ordered by Methodist Sports with follow up apt with Dr. Misamore. I was told to go back to Evansville and to review my anatomy as I did not have a shoulder problem. He was yelling and when I asked about the EMG she yelled back it was normal. Due to the axillary nerve entrapment, I have lost the function of the teres minor which controls the motion of the humerus and my statements that I was using my neck to move my arm are true. This was four years ago and copying medical reports resulted in my moving to Texas to have my brother help me care for my mother who recently passed. There is NO EXCUSE for NOT REVIEWING lab reports with a patient and yelling at them in a belittling manner by any health care provider! After shoulder problems from a mastectomy and previous visits, I was told to go back to my hometown and never come back. Three years later I have severe atrophy of my upper trapezius along with a frozen shoulder. No concern about a patient or that they were caring for an elderly family member.

Fantastic surgeon. Very pleasant. Answers questions. Excellent support staff (Lisa RN). Highly recommend.

Our experience with Dr. Misamore was horrible. He was condescending and his nurse was rude. I honestly would not recommend this Doctor. He looks very good on paper but was not helpful. He also gave us a 10 min lecture about arriving at our appointment 5 minutes late. We called ahead to inform his office that we would be 5 minutes late and that the roads were icy. Take time to truly research the doctor you want to see. You have choices and if you are looking for good bedside manner in any way or pain management, look for someone else. It’s been a year since my right complete arthroscopy of the shoulder (I am right handed). I am 67 and active still. My recovery has been much better than expected. I am doing the same activities as I did in the past with only moderate limitations. Thanks to Gary and all the staff!!

I can’t say enough good stuff! Dr Misamore and his staff are beyond great. Shoulder replacement done the Monday before Christmas and Dr Misamore personally called Christmas Day to check on me!

Fixed my collarbone after a bicycle crash. Great movement and explained everything like a pro. Still working great over ten years later.

I suffered a badly dislocated shoulder as a kid (early 90’s). Dr Misamore and his staff have done a great job repairing my shoulder. Super friendly, caring staff. Highly recommend.

After a completely wasted visit locally, my husband opted to drive the 2.5 hours to see Dr. Misamore, the shoulder expert recommended by his PT. My shoulder had also been hurting and Dr. Misamore's nurse, Lisa, adjusted the schedule to fit me in at the same time- and was so friendly and upbeat about it. The whole office was welcoming and down-to-earth, but the best was the very kind and knowledgeable Dr. M. He did a thorough exam going through every possible range of motion, ordered an x-ray and then read it (no waiting for another appointment) and was able to give me a diagnosis and answer all my questions. My husband was amazed at the difference in protocol- this exam and even the x-rays were more thorough and specific than what he previously received. This doc knows his stuff and--BONUS-- is a lovely person. We were comfortable with him and his fantastic nurse immediately. We both highly recommend him! My husband and I both saw Dr. M for our shoulder issues. We drove 2.5 hours because he was highly recommended. We both thought he was excellent. He gave a thorough exam taking us through range of motion, had x-rays done during the visit then immediately read them for us and was able to give me a diagnosis and treatment while my husband was given a choice of 3 options, which he discussed thoroughly with us. His nurse, Lisa, was excellent and accommodating in scheduling us together.
