The Dr is very great with communication, and explaining everything so that it could be understood. Does not try pushing thing or procedures on you. Give you treatment options and let’s you decide.

I have seen Dr. Horne since she was at UAB many years ago. She is just as kind today as she was fifteen years ago.

Dr. Horne was my moms doctor and she was always very kind and understanding. I was very happy with the support she gave my mom.

Best medical staff that I have ever seen! Would highly recommend!

10+ yrs and no issues with any physician until dealing with this office. Scary experiences!

I've had multiple epidurals with other providers over the years without relief. I was reluctant to try another one , but I am so glad she convinced me to do so because I have had 90% relief of my back pain since then!

Dr. Ballard worked with me to get my chronic pain stabilized. She eventually found the right medicine and dosage for me, and I have felt better than I have in 15 years. She knows what she is talking about, she is very thorough, and easy to talk to.

I had my first appointment Since moving here from Wa State for chronic back pain. I did have a prolonged wait time, however, being a retired RN myself I know dr’s have emergencies they sometimes have to take care of before routine visits, but once I was taken back into a room the nurse was friendly, and professional. Dr Horne was amazing! She spent time going through my history, previous CT scans and MRI’s, medications and made a plan for my care. Set up appts for treatMets and future office appt. Called in medications and made plans for some changes to help decrease my pain. I was really anxious before seeing her but am now feeling like there is still hope for this old lady! I have been a patient of Dr Horne for several years due to chronic back problems from an automobile accident. Dr Horne treats me in office and does epidural injections at St. Vincent’s St. Clair hospital. I find her to be very personable, polite and has a genuine concern for the overall well-being of her patients. She always takes the time to explain things and is more than open to a dialogue with me as her patient regarding any issues that I be experiencing. Her office is staffed with professionals that reflect the same respectable characteristics of Dr Horne. I respect her as person and feel she always has my personal best interest in mind regarding my wellbeing in helping me maintain my ability to be the best provider for my family I can possibly be given my health issues. I feel blessed to have been referred to Dr Horne by one of the most if not the most prominent neurosurgeons in the State of Alabama. I would highly recommend Dr Gaylyn Horne-Ballard.

My husband was the patient and all she seems interested in is milking your insurance company for unnecessary pain blocks. He is 65 years old and unfortunately in bad health and excruciating pain. He's had plenty of these blocks, he told her her all he ever got out of them was paralyzed and had to be hospitalized. She is one of these Dr's that don't give a rat's ass about what the patient says she just wants the insurance money. She prescribed him medication that said right on the package it could cause serious or life threatening breathing problems, he has COPD, he told her the medication didn't work and she flat out didn't care. Needless to say you would probably get better care from a vetinerian.

Worse experience Ever . Waste of my time. HAD MY DR SEND HER MRI ON MY BACK stenosis And disc bulging. Fibromyalgia. Terrible all lover pain from other problems I have. She said my dr sent bunch paper MRI but did not say what I have. I thought she could understand a MRI and see for herself. I was telling her how my experiences with my pain and she Rudely cut me off..argued with me where I had seen a Dr. Dr's should not make you feel worse. No examing or listening... just a smerk look with a terrible attitude. Will not go back.. Oh..I love the security camera in the waiting room..treat you like a jail. No respect for patient. The first pain management docter that cares about me

She has really helped me manage my pain.

I love her! She has really helped me! I would recommend her highly !

I have been seeing her for several years and my opinion her and her team are the best!I was seeing another local doctor before her and left,it was horrible.So glad to find someone that truly cares about there patients

She's beyond brilliant

I had my first visit with Dr Horne today. She was so compassionate and kind. For the first time in a very long, I have hope that my pain could get better.

So UNPROFESSIONAL!!!... This is last place on earth I would go to for pain management! Refuses to work with patients when having hard times and really need the help. My husband can barely walk and you turn him away bc of some payment issues we are trying to work out from lapsed insurance, but the billing department won't answer the phone or return our calls. So how exactly are we suppose to resolce this issue? Some doctor. Really out to help people aren't you?? Sorry excuse for a human. Finally, a pain management doctor that actually takes the time to sit and listen, to talk and to HELP. I am so thankful for the day I decided to make the change to Dr. Horne-Ballard's care. She’s been absolutely amazing during these trying times with my health. Her staff is absolutely off the charts!!! I was scared to death that she would run me off because of all the paperwork she was required to fill out. She has been by my side and has shown the upmost concern for my health. Wonderful Dr. and very good bedside manner??

This doctor has helped me get my life back. I still have chronic pain, but with Dr. Ballard’s help I can do more than just lie in bed all the time. The only downside to using this doctor are the scheduling difficulties. You have to actually COME IN PERSON to change an appointment. Doesn’t make sense when treating chronic pain patients, many of whom can’t drive themselves. ?? Overall, tho, this is a great practice! The good results definitely outweigh the 1-2 negatives!

Very Rude and they will dismiss you in a heartbeat!

Saw her one time, then only saw Nurse practitioner. We had trouble getting my husband's medicine, because this office did not understand how to send a PA for a drug. Took 3 weeks to get pills, never was able to get the patches approved. Cancelled appointment because it took so long to get prescription filled, then they wouldn't reschedule. Now they will not transfer his records to see new doctor. This has been very frustrating, and they are the cause of my husband being in terrible pain!

EXCELLENT PAIN DOCTOR !

Excellent doctor! Grateful to have someone with her level of education and experience in our area. Her staff, nurses, and Nurse Practitioner are always pleasant and patient. They suggest and provide alternatives that are effective and help tremendously as well. Would give them 10 stars if I could.

I heard that National Doctors Day just passed. I can’t thank Dr. Gaylyn Horne Ballard enough for listening to me and helping me treat my chronic illness. I would not be walking today if it weren’t for her. I am treated with kindness and respect upon every visit and I’m so thankful for this doctor and her entire staff. I've been a patient for quite some time now and find Dr. Ballard and her staff to be attentive, compassionate and very professional. To me, being under the care of a pain specialist requires a special degree of trust in your doctor. I have complete confidence that Dr. Ballard has my best interest as her top priority, and her level of monitoring my progress and care gives me the peace I need. I had been seeing Dr Ballard for 3 years well les put it this way I seen the Doctor 2 times out of 3 years . I ask to see her for next time I came in made app. left 2 days later I get a letter saying I had breached my contract which is a lie.I have took pain meds. for 40 years when I was 29 I broke my back anyway now I am 66 she will not tell what she thinks I did. I want everyone to know that this Dr. does not care about anyone. I can hardly walk because of pain and I really did not breach.

I have Dr.Ballard for my pain Dr. at this time. But as soon as i can find another one i will not have her for my pain Dr. and the reason is she has put a young lady in charge of my meds that said at our last visit i would no longer have quality of life because she was taking my long acting pain med. away.She said my insurance company was the cause but when i spoke to the they said that long acting med had been approved for a year. She will not return calls at all.

Dr. Ballard. Is a great doctors she has a great spirit always greet u with a smile on her face. She listens to u and lets u explains yours problems without cutting u off. She a great doctor and i would recommend her to the best of my family or friend.

1st visit 06/22/2017.She is the best,and so understanding,I fractured my C-1 in my neck March 31st 2017,also I have a L3 L4 L5 in my lower back,and C4 C5 C6 in my shoulder and neck,I have been dealing with major pain since 2011 Dr.Ballard looked at all my MRI's and talked with me for almost 30 minutes,she is one of the FEW Dr.s that takes out the time to listen,start forward, and very understanding,So thankful and blessed to finally find a Doctor that listens and understands!!Thank you so much!!

I would not take my dogs to her . They deserve better ! After she does all the epidurals she can to make the big money and then dismisses you as if you were nothing ! STAY AWAY !!

A doctor that is dual board certified with academic experience, WOW! The entire staff is genuine and warm and happy. Will start with: staff is very polite! Chose Ballard b/c I had worked w/her, knew what a great Dr she was. First appt w/her was great, then only got to see the PA. They lost notes 2 mos where I requested refills. I have been in mgmt 12+yrs and have followed every rule. After my urine test this month I received letter she won't see me. Can only assume it's b/c of meds prescribed for recent surgery which I informed them of. Will never know b/c no notes in chart and "aren't req to give reason".

Dr. Ballard is always so patient and understanding.

I have been a patient of her's for years now. I just don't know how I would manage my chronic pain without her. She has truly been a life saver and blessing to me.

My name is Raymond Patterson I've had 23 surgery's from 14 knee surgeries , 2 neck , both twrist, shoulder and more . I've been with Dr Ballard since she has come to Pell City area and she is the best . She can do a absolutely painless epidural. She takes care of your pain, and is very professional in every single way ! Not only have I been seeing her for 2 plus years recommend her to anyone with chronic pain . Nice wonderful staff and look forward to remaining with her .

I have been in pain for years and Dr. Horne is the only one that has worked with me and listens to me. I have cards I give out to people that are in pain and cannot get relief. Thank you Dr. Horne for being here for me!!!!

She is only in it for the big money of giving worthless injections. After I had four treatments and had a 409$ bill after medicare paid her. I decided that they did not help and were to expensive. She changed toward me and hardly ever spoke to me. She lied to my face and told me my urine sample was not up to a normal temperature. I immediately provided another sample and was lief to again. She just wanted to get rid of me but she wanted to charge an office visit and urine samples to Medicare.

Walking in the office was a breath of fresh air! From the moment you walk in the building you know the experience is exceptional: professional, respectful, & pt centered. As a Myasthenia Gravis pt it's comforting the office is at the hospital POB. Breathing issues are scary but Dr. Ballard is DUAL board certified in anesthesia & pain. Talk about faith & trust in your doc! Plus her nursing & office staff are personable, kind, & helpful. A huge plus! If you have legit pain she's awesome!

I was highly pleased with Dr. Ballard for the first couple of months. She was very caring and attentive to my needs. My last visit with her, she was very short, bordering on rude. AfteAfter that, I only saw the nurse, who had my refill prescription already filled out. After, a few months of this, I started seeing the NP. I didn't see Dr Ballard again for 1 1/2 years. I was dropped for having day surgery and testing positive for the surgery meds. They had access to my hospital records but didn't

I was very displeased with her treatment of me and her concern for my well being .If you value your health I would not go to her .In my opinion she is only concerned with the money you pay her .

Hands down she's the best doc I've ever experienced. (I've had my share during 14 years of chronic health issues!) She's worth the drive. May 1st she leaves Healthspring, but I'll gladly pay out of pocket. She's compassionate, knowledgeable, skilled & she LISTENS. She's the first doc to actually help my pain! Regarding the previous negative reviewer: continue to request to see Dr. Ballard over the NP. Perhaps she had a bad day when you saw her. Everybody does. You won't find better elsewhere!

In the beginning Dr.Ballard was super. She really appeared to care and want to help. She was attentive to my needs. After a few months she changed. Now I never see her, and when I ask I am told that I will be seeing the NP. The one time I have her lately she was short, and seemed like I was bothering her. There was no longer a desire to help me. I told her that the treatment I am receiving for my issue isn't working anymore and I was basically that I just had to deal with it. no concern. no help

The Doctor is very down to earth and approachable, and the wait time was nothing compared to that of other pain management clinics. The staff was also very friendly, as soon as i walked through the door they greeted me with friendly smiles. My pain has since decreased due to a plan that Dr, Ballard initiated. I highly recommend this clinic to anyone!

Dr Ballard is such a wonderful doctor who treats you more like her family than a patient. Answers any questions you may have about your diagnosis and her staff is willing to go the extra mile to make you feel at home while in her office. I would follow her anyway she goes

Very few doctors are accepting Health Springs due to the amount of paperwork they require versus the other Insurance companies. They also reimburse doctors at a much lower rate than do the other Insurance companies. True, Health Springs is cheaper than the rest, but what good is it if no doctors will accept it? The old saying YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR certainly applies when it comes to your health insurance.

Only saw Dr for about 2 minutes and not at all before or after the procedure. No follow from their office at all. I called to ask what to do next since the pain remained. I was scheduled an appointment several weeks after the procedure but was told I would see the nurse only. Today I received a letter that they no longer accept CignaHealthspring insurance!
