Dr Young was fantastic, I really appreciate his interest in me, and my well-being. He explained the whole procedure, than told me what he was doing step by step. He did the procedure that day instead of having me come back to do it another day. He realized I was coming from the keys and made it easy for me so I didn't have to drive back another time. His PA was also super nice and compassionate. The whole teem did a great job! Each and every one did a great job separately, and together knocked it out of the park. I can't thank them enough!

I was positively astounded by the care I received from Dr. Young. Really, just shocked with how much time he spent with me and how detailed he was in his questioning and explanations. This was the first time any doctor actually spoke with me about my condition in a concerned and Informative manner. He reassured me that I was in good hands by the way he presented his knowledge on the condition and plan of treatment. Dr. Young listened to everything I had to share and was so incredibly responsive, going above and beyond my expectations in every possible way. Approaching surgery is a frightening experience, but Dr. Young assured me of all possible outcomes and his confidence has put me at ease. His warm, understanding approach really makes him stand out from any other doctor I've visited and makes you wonder why others can't follow the same standards.

A second opinion consult with Dr Young was extremely helpful. He included a staff oncologist and we spent time reviewing treatment options. Provided extra time and was able to review records as well as perform his own examination. Confirmed that initial treatment plan was correct and to proceed asap. Also, enrolled me in a study of NavDX with a follow up 3 months after my completion of treatment closer to home.

Completely Pain Free. I had been diagnosed with Eagles syndrome in my early 20's. I have severe pain in my ear and neck that fwlt like my Carotid Artery was going to explode. I fou d Dr Young at Mayo clinic. My styloid process should be 2-3 in and mine on my left side was 6.6 in. He performed astyloidectomy and told my husband that when he removed it he could see the surrounding tissue just release from being under such pressure. I have been pain free since my surgery in 2015. Would highly recommed Dr Young. Very knowledgeable and very friendly.

I saw Dr. Young when he was at Mayo clinic in Jacksonville for a possible lymph node biopsy. I showed up with an ultrasound of a suspicious calcified neck node under a cm and two collarbone lymph nodes. He was very arrogant, took 5 minutes with me and ordered a CT. Whats sad is he should know being a Dr that you cant see anything under a cm on a ct typically. He denied a biopsy and disregarded the US that had the suspicious node on it. Here I am now having to deal with the node still being there and my medical issues worsening. Dont see him unless you want a drive thru doctor. Dr. Young was my surgeon for mouth cancer and was absolutley wonderful. He listens and is kind while also being a brilliant clinician and surgeon. I trust him completly as both a physician and a person. You won’t find a better doctor !

At Mayo Clinic in 2017 I had a right neck dissection by Dr Young. He damaged a nerve which controls the muscle that controls my shoulder blade so that my shoulder blade is out of place. I am therefore handicapped and cannot raise my arm above shoulder level. This was not an expected result. I was told that I might not be able to shrug my shoulder but i can. I was never told that i might be handicapped. This is a permanent damage.

Dr. Young spent so much time with me in my initial consultation. He listened and answered all of my questions. He performed surgery and thankfully I was in minimal pain after and he did a wonderful job closing my wound and making it appear as aesthetically pleasing as possible. He understood my concerns as a younger woman and the possibility of a large visible scar. I am so thankful he is a part of my healthcare team and I really trust him. He returned calls promptly and is very personable.
