Fantastic. Excellent service and great communication.

My husband had a "small" pre-caner spot removed. It was done by a student. It was much worse than he was told. Extreme pain and swelling. The office told what our percent of payment would be but is unwilling to accept with what insurance would pay.

Two experiences First, I had two moles "removed" and both came back. My husband had a pre-cancerous "spot" removed and Dr Tisdale has his "student" do the procedure. It very painful, a much bigger place than expected, and much longer recovery. Finally, the office officie staff told my husband we would be responsible for 40% since they were out of network. They are not willing to work with us on a negotiate rate that insurance would pay.

Dr. Tisdale is an excellent surgeon. He is very personable and goes above and beyond in his care for his patients.

Dr. Tisdale is the best dermatologist that I have seen. He was so gentle during my procedure I literally didn't feel a thing. I wouldn't go to anyone else. Highly recommended.

Been going to see Dr. Tisdale for more than 30 years. He is fantastic at what he does with a ton of experience. Has performed many surgeries on my face, nose, and neck due to the fact that I am in the sun all the time. He is very smart and really cares about his patients.

Only giving 3 stars because Dr. Tisdale is intelligent, his staff was mostly nice, and they have a cat and dog there to help distract from everything else. I waited 2 hours for a MAYBE 10 minute meeting with him. He had a student doctor or someone with him to watch and learn (which I didn't mind, but a head's up would've been great.) I had what most healthy young people would consider alarming things pop up on my skin. He came in and heard my complaints and then simply told me what my issue was. I had to ask if it's bad. I had to ask if it would need to be removed to which he asked me if I wanted it removed instead of explaining it was a cosmetic choice and that was my health wasn't at risk. I had to ask how it was caused. I had to ask EVERYTHING while he responded in medical jargon that any non-medical person would not understand. I asked about another issue I had to which he asked me "Do you think it's this medical thing or that medical thing?" as if I had ANY idea what either of those things even are. He made me feel like an idiot when it was already difficult being vulnerable. Point being, if you want a doctor who actually cares about you as a patient- don't come here. If you don't mind not having that emotional need met, come here. As someone who sat with anxiety and panic while I waited a week for this appointment, I expected a lot more than to be shoveled in and out of an exam room I just waited 2 hours to get into. Best and seems to be most knowledgeable MD that I have had and my oldest dau is an MD in Nashville

Takes adequate time with patients and answers all concerns. I’ve recommended him to everyone in my family for many years.

I had heard great things about Dr Tisdale and found it easy to make an appointment. However, the receptionist was not friendly at all. I had to wait 40 minutes in the waiting room before getting back to the treatment room which smelled like a dog. After waiting another 35 minutes and still no one had taken one note on me (no history or "why are you here") I walked out without ever seeing the doctor (I had to pick up kids from school). On my way out, I saw the reason for the smell - a dog - in a dermatology clinic!! He may be great but I wouldn't know because I never saw him. He's a great doctor, with an awesome personality & bedside manner. Hard to find these days! Recommend him to anyone looking for dermatologist!

He is excellent! He removed skin cancer from my face and would not use anyone else! He is very experienced.

Dr Tisdale is the best! I have been a patient for nearly 20 years and since I have a personal and family history of skin cancer I have seen dozens of times. He is knowledgeable, professional, skilled and always treats his patients with kindness and good humor. Dr. Tisdale treated my skin over ten years ago. I had been to several dermatologists and they always diagnosed me with the wrong thing. Dr. Tisdale looked at my skin, told me what was wrong and prescribed medication for me; I have been using the same medication (Desonide lotion for dry skin) for over ten years and I haven't had a problem with my skin since then. I went to see Dr. Tisdale In Oct. 2017 after high praise from good friends, to check a scaly spot on my leg. He said, ‘Do you think you know what Cancer looks like, because this is nothing.’ He made me feel foolish for seeing him. The spot continued to look bad to me so I saw another Dermatologist yesterday. The biopsy came back as Squamous cell and I will need more tissue removed. Thank goodness I sought out a second opinion. I would not recommend Dr. Tisdale.

The only dermatologist ever able to assist me after all referrals to multiple experts at UAB and other medical centers! Highly recommended!

Dr. Tisdale graduated at the very top of his class l, ranked #2. Extremely nice, brilliant, and will tell you exactly what is wrong and how to fix it. Kind and thoughtful, helped me many times as a high school student and in college.

I've been going to Dr. Tisdale for two years and he is very precise and accurate about what type of medicine will work for you and what medicine want. When I first start going to him, he informed me that he need to put me on Accuetane for my severe acne. I told him I rather try other options bcuz I was scared to take that medicine. After trying different options and wasting so much money. I finally went through the step to get on Accutane and after 4mths my face was clear, smooth with no permanent scarring. My husband loves it and he's also happy with the results. I'm glad I listen to him even tho I had to pay $167 after my insurance paid their part but it was worth it!!! Thanks Dr. Tisdale!!!! Dr. Tisdale is a very attentive derm., looks, listens and suggest. His knowledge as an Internal Med. Dr. is a great asset as well. He looked at my skin and immediately asked if I was a heart patient. Incompetent office staff. Called to get an appointment and to confirm that they accepted Unoted Healthcare. They confirmed and got an appointment. I showed up, and they did not have me down for an appointment and they also said that they didn't take United Healthcare. They worked me in that morning. After the appointment, they had to call in a specialty drug at a specialty pharmacy. two weeks later, I still hadn't received my medicine in the mail. Needless to say, They forgot to call it in.

If you want cosmetic treatments or a therapist, this is not your doctor. If you want a dermatologist to treat medical conditions there is none better. I've been to Dr. Tisdale off and on since 1988 and he's always right. No nonsense doctor with skills!

Very knowledgeable. And thorough. Quick to answer your questions in an understandable and thorough way. When in doubt, ask. No skin ailment too large or too small. Excellent Dermatologist. Always very attentive to my needs as a patient. He was one of the first MOHs Surgeons and Dermatologists in Birmingham and has been practicing here for over 30 years. I recommend him to all my friends and family!
