Girma Balcha Assefa

Dr.Girma listened to me when I needed help. Listened to my symptoms over the years and helped treat my hypertension etc. For my medical issued he has been a "good" doctor. However, Dr. Girma has touched me on several occasions inappropriately. Its like he knows just how far he can go without doing to much and remaining the "good" doctor. He is no longer my doctor and I am glad. I've since moved. It was like being stuck with a doctor who cared, but because i was a nursing student he seem to listen to me more, letting me guide my care. At the same time I had to endure a thigh rub, back rub, soft stroking touches. It was gross and I felt paralyzed. But if you knew my story then you would understand why i let him continue as my doctor for so long, and why i could say anything until i was no longer connected to him. I hope this allows other patient to speak up regarding their doctors and even Dr. Girma. -Naomi

I would give zero stars if I could. Dr. Girma Assefa is cold and heartless. I saw him the first and last time a couple of days after my brother's funeral. I was grieving. I barely slept or ate. I cried to the kind nurse. He said I was "overreacting and dramatic."

I saw Dr. Girma Assefa a couple of days after my brother's funeral. I had been having trouble sleeping, barely eating and had just cried in the office. I knew I was grieving and the nurse was very kind. However, Dr. Assefa showed no compassion, no empathy and said I was "overreacting and being dramatic" because I had cried with the kind nurse. I will NEVER go to him again. IF you want a human doctor and not a robot then I suggest you stay away from him also.

I think Dr. Assefa is a wonderful doctor and human being. I came to see him approximately one month ago concerting a cough and continued mucus build op in my throat. Dr. Assefa discussed my concerns, gave me assurances how to solve my problem, gave me a proper prescription, and additional follow up information. I was completely satisfied with my visit. Dr. Assefa gives excellent care and attention each and every time I visit his office which I greatly appreciate. I also appreciate his fine support staff and nurses. Thank you Advocate Health for continuing to provide such outstanding health care.
