Dr. Godfrey Joel Funari

I had an implant 10 years ago and recently returned for another problem. I find him competent. He is very professional. I recommend him to others.

Can't Express enough how grateful I am to Dr. Funari and his awesome staff. From my first phone call to walking out with my son after his wisdom teeth were removed. We had a bad experience prior with another practice and Funari kindly cleaned up mess and made it look easy.

I could not rate Dr. Funari and his wonderful staff any more highly. They took me in as patient during very stressful times and extracted a painful wisdom tooth very professionally. Real pros!

Will take all your insurance cards; tell you not to worry and then refuses to submit paperwork to the insurance company for reimbursement. Worse yet, when you go back to ask about it the nurse asks you to sign a form saying you will not make any attempt to submit a claim for reimbursement. What's going on with this guy? I wouldn’t recommend an enemy go to Dr Funari. I suffer from anxiety and PTSD and Dr Funari has absolute zero bedside manner. NONE. Not only did he make me feel worse about my anxiety, when he gave me the IV for my general anesthesia, I was in pain crying and saying OUCH quite loudly. He proceeded to yell at me saying my name as if her were my father. I can say I’ve had many surgeries and other procedures in my life. This was the worst experience I’ve ever had. Brush up on your bedside manner Dr Funari. Listen when your patient is displaying fear or pain. Don’t dismiss it. This didn’t make going to the dentist any easier for me ... that’s for sure. Dr. Funari was excellent, he made me feel comfortable, he explained everything and didn’t rush. Definitely will go back

I had my wisdom tooth pulled back in October 2018- I was a little worried since the reviews for Dr. Funari were not that great. I'm glad I ignored the reviews! Dr. Funari is direct and doesn't coddle his patients, which I appreciated and actually preferred. He explaned the procedure, possible side effects, and post-surgery care. The majority of these reviews are regarding how awful his bedside manners were...I didn't experience that at all!!! He even made jokes. Also, this man had my tooth extracted in less than minute with no pain whatsoever!!! Dr g. Joel funari is an excellent doctor he is highly recommended he did on me a biopsy in my tongue and is doing well. Very clean office and very nice staff. Thank you fr funari for taking care of me.

Claims he takes insurance; takes copies of your card and then refuses to submit the claim.

Dr. Funari was arrogant and is not someone I would recommend for wisdom teeth removal (or any oral surgery). Though he says he didn't cause it, I developed problems with my temporomandibular joint (TMJ) and am now having to get TMJ arthroscopy after trying a nightguard, physical therapy, trigger point injections, and botox. Go to an oral surgeon that is both an M.D. and a D.M.D. for better care. There are many better oral surgeons on the main line. Wonderful wonderful experience. Totally happy with my procedure. I would recommend this surgeon to anyone. Staff was lovely and very comforting. Thank you for such great care.

Dr. Funari has an amazing amount of experience and really knows his stuff. If you want to feel safe and secure that you're getting the procedure done properly this is the place to go.

Dr. Funari is a retired naval officer oral surgeon so you trust his credentials. I can count on him to provide the best care focused my needs.

Would not recommend. Had issues with insurance and he injured my jaw.

I had a procedure done at this office in February 2012. Though I presented a valid insurance card for my procedure, and the procedure would have been covered by BCBS, the staff failed to successfully submit the claim in a year. After a full year had passed, it was rejected in the 13th month by my insurance because it was not submitted in a timely manner. So now they are billing me for the full amount, will not provide me with any proof they claim to have that they even tried to submit to the insurance, and will not assist me in filing an appeal. Further, the office staff has become rude with me, and the doctor won't return my call. I don't know where this process broke down. I had valid insurance. It was a covered procedure. I gave them all of the information I had. They won't take responsibility for this and won't address it with the insurance themselves. They have absolutely no scruples about pursuing this with me even though they didn't get paid because they did nothing for a full year to submit a claim. Unfortunately it was really not a good experience with this office years ago, front desk and medical service
