Dr Dakin very professional, but more than that his relaxed personality immediately calmed me, trustworthy and knowledgeable. Willing to answer any questions and offer the advice I needed. Excellent team I felt safe in their hands. I knew I made the right decision and was with the doctor and team. I would refer anyone to speak to him if you’ve got an issue that needs repair. He is attentive to my needs. Takes his time to explain what are my options and what are the pros and cons to everything. Always have someone from his staff available if I have any questions. The best decision I ever made was seeking help from him and his highly competent staff.

Dr Dakin is compassionate, honest, and a straight talker. He will tell you if you are a candidate for gastric surgery and can he help you. I have know him since 2005.

Great Doc and staff.

Straight forward no nonsense. Doesn’t beat around the bush if you will. I like it can’t wait for this journey. The staff is friendly and welcoming. I loved my visit.

Surgery consultation

I had surgery in November 2022 with this doctor. I have several surgeries under my belt now and there are certain things that has to happen before an actual procedure. This office seems unorganized. I kept questioning why am i being sent to my primary care for clearance when i needed to see my specialists. The assistant needs an overhaul. She does not know how to communicate with patients all the time. Every time i see this surgeon i have high anxiety because my appointments are not always smooth. Waiting 2 hours without an apology in the 1st waiting room is horrible and then scheduling me for surgery and then cancelling is deplorable. I wont mention bed side manner. I had very little contact with this doctor. After surgery he came to see me but he did not check my wounds. I did not see him at my first appointment after surgery. The nurse checked my wounds. The day of surgery the assistant called me demanding i get to the hospital in 55 minutes. I already had a scheduled time so i could not appease her. When i got to the ER the doctor did not mention the incident. I am already having high anxiety because its a surgery and i have no drugs in my system. They need to do better.

Excellent !

I had recent bilateral laparoscopic hernia surgery performed by Dr Dakin. The operation was at 9am. I was released from the hospital at 2pm. It was rainy, and taxis were hard to find that day, so my wife and I walked most of the way to our apartment 17 blocks away. I felt fine , and followed Dr Dakin's recovery instructions to the letter. Stopped all post op meds after three days because even at the worst stage immediately after the op I had only moderate discomfort, and I don't like to take meds unless absolutely necessary. Recovery has been excellent. I am 84 years old and fortunately in good health and physical condition. I very much appreciated Dr Dakin's extensive experience, expertise and care.

Recently had surgery with Dr. Dakin and can honestly say it was a smooth experience. The team kept me informed of everything the whole way, and the inpatient team truly made my stay in the hospital comfortable. And most importantly I had an uncomplicated surgery and am grateful for the care I received. I’m still in recovery but can say the team has continued to be responsive to my messages and concerns. Definitely recommend Dr. Dakin and his team.

The Dr walked in, no formal introduction only " I hear you have a hernia". Minimal history and during his exam it was as if he was downplaying my condition saying " its not the biggest hernia I've seen today" im a surgeon as well and am full aware of my condition. The remaineder of the visit was met with minimal eye contact and the Dr. looking at the computer. He did answer my questions appropriately however. The resident was very pleasant. Seamless medical journey from on-line check in to check out. Friendly, professional support staff. Dr Dakin was extremely informative and took quite a bit of time covering all my questions and concerns.

He was pleasant. I asked many questions and he gave me answers that were understandable to me. Overall, it was a good meeting. And I am confident regarding my procedure in the near future.

Dr. Dakin performed emergency surgery on me last month and did a fantastic job. I am forever thankful to him and the care team for taking such great care of me. Post surgery, Dr. Dankin and the team checked on me regularly to ensure that I was recovering well, my stay at the hospital was not rushed and they made sure that I was 100% ready for discharge prior to their approval for me to go home. Dr Dakin is a very knowledgeable and competent surgeon. From my experience he can be up and down with his interpersonal skills. I felt that I was in very good hands even after an issue with my surgery. His group of students, interns and residents were fantastic and extremely helpful especially the woman on his team. She went the extra mile which I really appreciated. I would recommend him.

Excellent .description what expected of the surgery.

Dr. Dakin is a wonderful surgeon. He removed my appendix in 2010 and I was so happy that he removed my gallbladder this year. He leaves you with almost no scars at all post surgery. I highly recommend Dr. Dakin.

I had a great experience.. There was no wait the staff was very professional, kind and accommodating.. Dr Dakin was great! gave me the time speak I did not feel rushed . He informed me of what my options are what to expect and what his thoughts are .

Recently I had a hernia repair surgery performed by Dr. Gregory Dakin. It was the first time I was going under full anesthetic and I was a bit nervous. That quickly changed as soon as I checked in the hospital. Everybody from his team was very friendly and professional and made me feel very comfortable, the rest is history. I checked in at 10.45am and was out of the hospital by 2.40pm. I could have imagined a better experience and such quick recovery. I have 3 tiny, tiny cuts on my belly that are about to peel off anytime soon. been walking purfectly fine ( slower of course with some rare moments of soreness mainly around the aria where the incisions are . I didn’t take any painkillers post surgery, not even Tylenol. Highly Reccomend Dr. Daikin amd his team they are very professional and confidently did Dr Dakins achievements speak for themselves. Dr. Dakin is absolutely amazing. He is kind, he listens and he is very knowledgeable (obviously he’s a surgeon, haha), he is very professional and has excellent bedside manner. He gets straight to the point is very efficient and is always on time. Not only is Dr. Dakin amazing but it’s also important to point out how amazing his team is. Thank you Dr. Dakin a million times over its very hard to trust someone with your life and I’ve trusted you twice.

I came in with gallstones and many questions about what would be my first surgery. The doctor ran through side effects dismissively, and so I felt safe to do the procedure. I was told it went well. I didn't know about the massive amounts of acid reflux that would occur afterward (which happens to 80-90% of GB removal patients). It was so severe I had to go back to the OR to assess if it caused an ulcer or other damage, and visit an ENT for a laryngoscopy to see if I had throat damage from the acid. My ENT told me, with a high degree of certainty that the breathing tube used for my surgery caused structural damage to my left vocal folds. It was noticeable enough for even me to see it from the images. And severe enough that my upper voice range was lost about a month after surgery (to this day). There was no reflux damage to either the GI tract or larangx. Just acid reflux itself and structural damage. And I have to do vocal therapy as result. Imagine if my insurance does not fully cover the cost of those extra appointments and procedures? That is an extra $15,000 I am looking at! Something very concerning happened as well during and after surgery. Beforehand I made it crystal clear to the anesthesiologist to NOT give me narcotics, for medical reasons. I now see on my itemized bill that she gave me FENTANYL, of all things! THE most addictive and deadly of them all! After the surgery, she kept insisting for her to write me a prescription for Oxycotin. I kept saying NO and reiterated why. She said, "Well I will write it anyway, and if you need it it's there". And then wrote it! I was speechless! I did see that this office has gotten financial gain from drug companies for prescribing certain meds in the past (there is a website to check this), so it made me wonder if that is why she forced narcotics into and onto me. . . Or maybe she doesn't care as much about the lives of her black patients as much as the others. I can't imagine a world where medical professional can do this to someone knowing their medical history should not allow it! Do no harm? Dr. Dakin and his surgical team were extraordinarily fantastic. They got the job done right, as I had no dilemmas after the surgery. However, some issues arose with the office staff, as they did not send my absence letter to my employer and much more. For that reason, I proclaim that this staff is not lenient towards their customers.
