I love love love this man. 3 other surgeons wanted me to have a hysterectomy. He did an exploratory and saw that a D and C which is a minor surgery was all that was needed. So refreshing when a surgeon doesn't have to pull out your organs

I went to 3 doctors who all said I had to have major surgery.. This doctor recommended me to have a exploratory 1st and then said a hysterectomy wasn't necessary.... I didn't want to lose my organs...

I received excellent results for my surgery and post care. I highly recommend Dr. Cantuaria!

An incredibly skilled surgeon! My wife had an issue that required uterine surgery. When we met him, he looked so young that I had to ask a friend who is one of the top OB/GYNs about Dr. Cantuaria. Pressured surgery that didn’t help my pain. In the post op visit, literally SCREAMED at me “You saw the pathology!” and basically kicked me out. When I was at the check out desk, he approached me, leaned next to my ear, and in a hushed tone asked me, “Can you urinate?” I could. I requested my medical records and there was no mention of anything that would cause me not to urinate. However, there was a shocking amount of other lies and manipulation of my reported complaints to justify a surgery I DID NOT NEED. Not only a reprehensible doctor, but an awful human to boot. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

I went to see Dr. Cantuaria at University Gynecologic Oncology to get treated for endometrial cancer. Prior to surgery, he was compassionate and thorough. Following my surgery, however, he disappeared from my case. He discharged me from the hospital without checking on me and barely spent 10 minutes explaining my pathology report in my first post-op appointment. He also delegated my post-op pelvic exam and hormone replacement therapy to a nurse. When I mentioned this to the office, I was coldly dismissed. The more problems I had with hormone replacement therapy, the more I was treated like a nuisance. Considering that I’m barely 30, getting hormone replacement therapy right is just as important for my long-term health as any surgery. I’ve decided to find a different doctor. Bottom line: if you just want surgery, don’t ask questions, and don’t have a complex case, you’ll be fine; otherwise, go somewhere else.

It is unfortunately that I’m having to write a bad review. Without going into details the purpose of my visits- this place represents very poor customer service. They do not take inconsideration that the patient is inconvenient due to their negligence and I’ve came out of pocket for two office visit that they claimed I canceled. Not true - it’s because the doctor office failed to provided the necessary documents for my insurance. I had to call the doctor that referred me to get the process taken care of—clearly this isn’t my responsibility. But everyone wants to point the fingers—it’s like looking into the mirror and denying oneself. Perhaps what you can take away from this post if you’re looking for poor service and lake of communication then you have come to the right place. If you visit other reviews you will find that at least they are consistent. It is unfortunately that I’m having to write a bad review. Dr Cantuaria is one of the best surgeons around. He corrected an error from a previous surgery that I had a long time ago. The surgery he performed on me was intensive but he did a great job!! I will be forever thankful to him for giving me my quality of life back! He has a great bedside manner & cares greatly about his patients. I highly recommend him!

Dr. Cantuaria saved me from a hysterectomy. I went to a doctor at Emory before and they told me my only option was a hysterectomy. Dr. Cantuaria found another option that saved my fertility. A year after my surgery, I gave birth to my daughter. It has been two years and I am still CIN clear and no HPV. He is a wonderful doctor and very caring. I highly recommend!

My OB-Gyn recommended Dr. Cantuaria when I had an abnormal biopsy. Although there was a 40 percent chance of endometrial cancer, Dr. Cantuaria told me the facts but was very positive about the treatment. I had lots of questions, and he was very patient and took the time to discuss all of my concerns. Upon leaving his office, I felt very comfortable with having him perform my hysterectomy. It's been two weeks since my surgery, and everything has gone very well. I think I made a great decision.
