Dr. Harvey Lawrence Shuster

My husband went in to have a tooth extracted and received excellent patient care. Dr. Schuster even called to check on him that evening. We will be back for more dental work.

He's a very nice man, but the whole experience was unpleasant and unprofessional. The office accepted my appointment and said they took my insurance. It turns out that insurance only partially covers it. I would've chosen to go somewhere that it was fully covered. I made an appointment in the morning so I could head to work afterwards. I waited for an hour and a half before he even arrived at the office for the day. When he did arrive, he chatted with a different patient for approximately 30 minutes about his old neighborhood before coming into the room where I was waiting for so long. I won't be going back. Dr. Shuster is an amazing oral surgeon. I went to a couple of oral surgeons and he was so professional. State of the art technology. Knew the problem immediately even before any X-rays.

I went today to take out my wisdom teeth out and Dr.Shuster was amazing.. he made me feel completely comfortable.. and he even checked up on me after.. Absolutely amazing. I would recommend him to everyone.

Dr Shuster is a very good surgeon. He knows his job , great personality and cares for his patients.

While I thought he was a very nice man, personable and knowledgeable I felt taken advantage of financially at this office. I had a root canal that was infected and my dentist was on vacation so I was referred to Dr. Schuster. He explained what could be the issue and took an x-ray, he said he could not see anything and ordered his assistant to take a 3D x-ray - I'm not a dentist so I did not know any better that this was completely unnecessary. He suggested that I go back to the endodontist who did the root canal and have her take a look. Upon leaving his office, the front desk told me that the office visit and x-ray was covered but NOT the 3D x-ray and that I owed his office $375!!! WHAT?! I asked why I was not informed of this charge given the fact that they knew my coverage when I walked in the door and knew this was not a covered service. The receptionist said nothing, looked at me and said "I can do $240" to which I replied I cannot. She then said OK $150 - so HOW did we get from $375 to $150? Probably because the x-ray doesn't cost anywhere near what he is charging his patients. I then went back to the SPECIALIST who took a regular x-ray (the one that was covered) and told me what needed to happen from there. Honestly, I understand maybe he doesn't specialize in root canals but he could have been honest and said that rather than robbing money from me. Dr Shuster is great. I have had 3 appointments right now to to tooth extractions and a bone graft. I will ultimately place an implant. He is very kind, gentle and informative. His office staff and assistants are likewise great to work with.

Best experience I’ve had at a dentist! He’s very personable, caring and attentive to your needs and fears. Great staff very clean place and got seen right away plus called me in the evening to check up on me.????

It would be time well spent by visiting Dr. Shuster because of his expert knowledge in the medical the field and handling of oral and Maxillofacial surgery . YES RECOMMEND TO ANYONE.

This was, hands down, the WORST medical experience of my life (and I work in the medical field!). I chose Dr. Shuster based on the reviews I had read online. I was disappointed to learn that after I had waited 2 hours to see him, he was extremely rude, impatient and insensitive. I left there with no answers and in more pain than when I arrived (I was only examined!). Completely disappointed and would never recommend him to anyone.

Great dentist/oral surgeon, and great man. Does great work, called me at night to check on me, answers the phone after hours to address any issues, just amazing. Like the "old school" doctors long since gone.

The best! Goes above and beyond! An asset to his profession. He is compassionate, trustworthy, just a great human being not to mentioned an excellent oral surgeon!

Have seen Dr. Shuster in the eastchester office.. everyone is very nice and in and out quickly. The Dr himself even calls you the same evening to see how you are doing. Which in both of my experiences has been great.

I am a general and family dentist in Harrison. When we need to refer our patients to an oral surgeon, we have a lot of choices. We are always very careful whom we recommend - because we care about how our patients are treated. There are dozens of oral surgeons in our area, but we always recommend Dr. Shuster's practice. We've been referring to him for well over 10 years. Every patient we've referred to him came back with glowing reviews. We know we can always rely on him to see our patients quickly if it's an emergency, and his work is excellent. The fact that we've been recommending him for 10+ years speaks for itself. I went to get all four of my wisdom teeth taken out and on the same day I was walking around in little pain, he called to check in on me and how I was recovering. Such a great dentist Highly recommend to anyone.
