Hay Cheam

Dr. Cheam is great however his staff is not so great. Gotta do their jobs for them. Also they don't honor their hours they are supposed to be in the office 8am to 2pm on Fridays and no one is here

He's awesome! We love him he's been my sons doctor for 15 years!

Dr. Cheam cared for our son who was born to dialysis through his transplant and beyond, and we could not have asked for a better doctor or advocate for our baby. Your child is in the best possible hands with Dr. Cheam.

Arrived 10mins early as it was my sons 1st visit. Was taken to the back fairly quickly and handed a tablet to check in and left. Finished checking in and tablet prompts you to “return to staff” (which I did) and then a woman came in with a cup and said “he’ll need to pee in this” I explained my son has ASD and will not pee in a cup, she became irritated and said “well the Dr needs it to check his urine” I replied “I understand but that still doesn’t change the fact that he won’t do it and I’m not about to upset my child.” I then asked why no one told me a urine sample would be needed so I could have gotten a clean catch at home” The staff member replied “whatever I’ll let the Dr know” she then took my sons BP, yet never introduced herself to any of us. She then took us to another room and left. Twenty minutes later, and still no Dr, my son was getting scared, so I opened the door and asked the same girl if she knew how much longer before we saw the Dr, she snapped “10 to 15mins” We had already been there close to 40mins, and my son was extremely stressed, so I decided to reschedule. When I got to check out, the young lady at the desk asked “when does the Dr want to see you back” so I explained that we never saw the Dr. She left the front desk and was stopped by the girl I had been dealing with who proceeded to yell “I told her it would be another 10mins! It’s not my fault she was late!” I wasn’t late for my appointment! I arrived 10mins early so I replied “no my appointment was at 9:30, I arrived at 9:20” she then screamed “well the Dr was late!” So I left and called back to thank the young lady at checkout, and also get the name of the staff member who was anything BUT professional! Her name is NORMA and she has NO right working in an office that caters to sick children!

Hes the best ,kindest ,caring doctor you can ever meet !

Dr. Cheam is an outstanding Doctor. He take his time to explain in details your child condition. I feel confortable and confident that my son is in good hands.

We love Dr. Cheam...he may not be the doctor you want to see but if you have to see a pediatric nephrologist, he's the one you want. Very detailed, crosses every "t" and dots every "i" - very thankful for him and his staff.

If I could give this doctor a better rating I would! He takes time to answer all questions, draws you charts, diagrams and whatever else you need to make sure you understand your child's condition, etc. I believe he saved my sons life and hopefully he save his little left kidney too. Thank you Dr. Cheam. His staff is also awesome, usually you walk in and they seat you in a room very quickly and they are great with kids. If I could give this doctor a better rating I would! Dr. Cheam's office staff is friendly, but not especially efficient. Beyond that, Dr. Cheam is one of the most caring, kind doctors I've ever met, and his disgnostic skills are second to none. He has great instincts and he is very well connected with UCLA's transplant team where he did his fellowship. He cares about coordinating care overall, not just nephrology. You can't do any better for your kidney kid, we moved from Las Vegas and we miss him so much.
