About Isabella Ilarda
Reviews for Isabella Ilarda
This was my first dermatologist appt with Dr. Ilarda & I was pleasantly surprised. She was patient, thorough, warm, personable and caring. She actively listened to my concerns (the big & the little) & she advised me without any judgment, making me feel calm, welcomed and comfortable- in my own skin- despite any flaws or insecurities. She also took care of my mole removals (performing 2 painless biopsies) during my initial consultation. My encouraging advice for new, interested patients— try not to focus on any negative reviews. Dr. Ilarda “knows her stuff” & is definitely worth the wait. Highly recommend… :)
I have been a patient of Dr. Ilarda for almost 20 years. I have found her to be the most thorough and knowledgeable dermatologist. I completely trust her advice and treatment recommendations. Her staff is always friendly and welcoming and the office is immaculate. I highly recommend Dr. Ilarda for any and all dermatological needs.
Me and my husband have been a patient for many years and I can tell you if it were not for Dr. Ilarda, I would not be here writing this. On my initial visit with her she was removing spider marks and when finished she stressed the importance of having a full body scan done and urged me to make an appointment for the body scan. Thanks goodness I did because as it turned out I had melanoma on my back. She is very thorough, knowledgeable, and always answers all your questions and concerns. Sometimes at your appointment you may have to wait a little, but having her as your doctor is well worth any wait.
Worst Dermatologist ever!!!! My father was recently seen and had surgery in her office for skin cancer on his face. My father was told it was basil cell skin cancer. The surgeon Dr. Husain did My father's surgery and told him all the cancer was removed. We go back 2 weeks later to have stitches taken out and Isabella hands My father a report saying that he has aggressive skin cancer and he has to see a special mohs surgeon because the cancer is still there and could be spreading. So Not only did they lie but they put My father's health in jeopardy by wasting his time with the 1st surgery and saying it was all removed when in fact it wasn't. Do not ever go here you will regret it. Isabella is rude and unsympathetic and doesn't know how to speak to her patients. Worst Dermatologist ever!!!! I really wish I would've read these reviews before I started my services here. Overall, she lacks communication in her process and the treatments. I'm really sad that this was my first experience with a dermatologist and will not be back. The office & customer service: The office administration is pretty old school, and the wait time to be seen is always about 1hr+. Then you have to fill out a whole packet of forms which all ask you for the same information over and over again. Prescriptions Issue: I was prescribed the same prescription twice even though I only needed the 1st prescription. Some of my things were sent to Walgreens (which I was able to pick up next day) and 3 other items were sent to some weird pharmacy that I had to call to have them ship to my house (very inconvenient). When I called them they asked me for my card payment info and insurance over the phone (I don't feel safe doing this). Two weeks went by and I still hadn't received my "ship to home" prescriptions. I had my follow up appointment yesterday and the Dr. sent the prescription to the pharmacy again.... the issue wasn't that they didn't receive it, it's that they never shipped it to me. Anyway, I called them again to follow up on my order and they said they don't see that transaction but they do see this new prescription and they asked me for my payment and insurance card again.. obviously I did not give them anything this time and will refuse to use this service. I can't believe the Dr. would use this inconvenient service. The actual visit: The wait time is something that I saw so many people complain about when I read the reviews on the Cigna app and I should've known better. Once I was seen the Dr. didn't explain what she was doing it or why.. The first visit she gave me cortisone shots I believe? I don't even know honestly. Then prescribed a bunch of stuff but didn't take the time to explain what each one would do or what it was for... The second visit she asked me if I had any concerns and I mentioned a mole on my neck. Next thing you know she's injecting something on it and AGAIN didn't explain what it was.. THEN she had a blade in her hand going towards my neck and I was shocked so I pulled back and asked her what she was doing?? lol Apparently she was going to cut it off and send it to the lab but I was so caught off guard because she never explained this or told me that she was going to do this... She apologized and then she asked if I was okay with it which then I said yes but I was very disturbed. I really wish I would've read these reviews before I started my services here. Overall, she lacks communication in her process and the treatments. I'm really sad that this was my first experience with a dermatologist and will not be back. … More
HORRIBLE IS NOT EVEN THE WORD!!!! My daughter was referred there to treat her skin condition, but i wish i had gone to another place because the doctor was really unprofessional. My 2 year old daughter has a cold so eventually she coughs because of that, and the doctor was acting all panicked until the point that i have to asked her if she wants to see my daughter’s covid test and even told her that my daughter is coughing because of the cold. Is unbelievable the level of fear of people after the pandemic and I completely understand that we have to take care and prevent but panic because a two year old is coughing?! My elderly mother needed a dermatologist. Due to her challenges walking, we went to Dr. Illarda who is close by. However the time we have wasted in her waiting room to be seen was not worth it. On the first visit, we had to wait over an hour to see the doctor. On the 2ndvisit, we had to wait for an hour and a half to be before being taken into the examination room. There they had my mom wait, wearing only a gown for another almost 40 minutes. My mom was fed up. We left without being seen. Dr. Illarda did call back to apologize later that evening. But unfortunately, it wasn't the last time it happened. During this last visit, we waited for two hours. When I asked why some patients who were arriving after we did were being seen immediately, I was told they were on a Fast Track program. Again, after two hours of waiting we left - our 4th and last visit. During this pandemic, her waiting room is packed with people jammed back waiting for long periods of time. Unacceptable. No matter when the time of the apt is, you will WITHOUT A DOUBT, wait for at least 2 hours. If you have time to waste then visit this doctor lol. Otherwise save some time and find yourself another dermatologist.
Avoid this place at all cost. She has absolutely no idea what she’s doing other than overcharging. And her billing department is as incompetent. They will not return my call as I’m disputing a Bill i received for services she was unable to accomplish.. save yourself the headache and find another doctor.
DO NOT go there!!! I went to remove 3 moles from my neck. She removed 5( ok...) and she sent them to lab for checking. I told her not to do it as she said, they were not cancer look like. She said that Aetna will cover it and it did but then I was charged $40 copay for lab.....it is not great amount of money but if you ask doctor not to proceed with lab/checking ( she got money from insurance) she should listen to the patient right? what is more, she told me that Aetna will cover this mole removal...guess what!! It didn’t!! I had to pay over $180 for her! And the last thing....she looked that day like she was on drugs! Or drunk! She couldn’t walk straight and she was absent minded! Don’t use this doctor!! Seriously! They will tell you wont pay and at the end you will end up paying anyway. With copay the simple visit cost me over $260....find another doctor!! DO NOT go there!!! Dr Ilarda answered all my questions. I made the appt for me and my 10 yr old daughter. She was warm and ran on time. Dina at reception was very pleasant and helpful. I would refer her and will see her again.
Thank You!???? Dr. Ilarda for being a considerate and alert professional whom upon my first visit identified my Skin Cancer, which later on turned out to be as a result of World Trade Center exposure.
Dr ilard is the very best. After going to a nother skin doctor for 9 years that did nothing to help me. She made me feel 100 percent better. In 1 day she is the very best. And so is her staff.
Dr. Isabella Ilarda is soft-spoken, intelligent, wise and experienced. She has a great team working with her. I don't understand the negative reviews here. She has a very nice manner and took the time to explain everything to me which made me feel very comfortable.
Sorry but the wait is ridiculous. An hour? Come on, whats the point of an appointment then? If you have things to do in your day, don't schedule here.
She is always late & always going at it with her receptionist in front of patients. Super unprofessional, definitely will NOT recommend!!
Unfortunately it saddens me to to say this establishment is going to fail. The management is horrible because Isabella Ilarda is constantly late and the way she treats her staff is sickening. She talks down on her staff right in front of the patients as if what she is doing is ok. Then doesn’t apologize for being tardy. Please everyone I advice you not to waist your time. Dr. Ilarda is the worst doctor EVER! Not only did I wait over TWO hours to see her, she was rude! Not just to me, her patient, but her staff as well. I was utterly embarrassed at how she verbally abused and spoke down on her staff, in front of her patients!
I’ve been coming here for a year & the wait has always been soo long. BUT TODAY... I usually go in every 2 months for a shot, I get put on the “fast track” but even that is slow as hell. I had waited well over an hour to get my shot. BUT that’s not all, I was called in for an appointment but the doctor didn’t even have all my paper work sorted out and had then proceeded to tell me ( after over an hour of waiting ) that I can’t get my shot because of something with the papers in my chart. I was oblivious at this point. As a doctor you should check your patient paper work before they are called in for an appointment and waste half the day sitting in the doctor room. After I expressed my very strong feelings towards this situation, Dr. illarda didn’t like my “ tone “ & I was told to find a new dermatologist. As a patient I have never waited this amount of time for 1 shot that takes not even 5 minutes to give. She is the worst, DO NOT GO HERE, you will find so much better. I called few days before and asked to be first appointment. Was told to be there 11:05 am as that was when doctors first starts. I got there at 10:45 am expecting to be first in line as receptionist told me. There were 8 people already there. Signed in and sat down for what has always been a long wait like prior visits. At 11:50 I was now the last person in the waiting room. Then another lady comes in and sits down. Office assistant goes over to files where they are put to be taken in with patient as called. The women who came in 5 minutes ago is taken ahead of me! I tell them I was next and waiting an hour already. I was told she was being "fast tracked" by the doctor and that was the reason. A sign should be on the wall explaining "FAST TRACK" and separate rooms for each group! We are all paying so why are some customers time more valuable than others? There was no one in office but her and she would have had hardly no wait. I explained that my procedure required 5 to 10 minutes for mild acid to be applied to yellow blotches around my eyelids same as which was done on a previous visit. I then went to sit back down but got back up. I was now the last one in the waiting room! I walked over to the receptionist and told her to cancel my appointment! You will never be taken on time in this place as they overbook appointments. Its Russian roulette as far as being taken in the order you arrived and signed in for. The Doctor herself is not always on time either making your wait even longer as happened to me. I would give this place one zero based on how haphazard this place is run. I called office after I got home and asked to speak with Doctor. I was told she would call. I think you can guess what happened, NADA! P.S. As a side note my wife and I had made two appointments together a previous time. I called to cancel mine but my wife was still keeping hers. I drove her there only to find out they cancelled hers also. They refused to buzz her into building even though they and their patients were still in the office! Doctor Ilarda does not seem to care if she loses customers or maybe she doesn't know what her staff is doing. The Doctor herself is pleasant enough but the stress of it all is not worth the price of admission! Good luck to all as long as you know going in that its a crapshoot on how much you value your time! I will warn you... Please do not waste your time. Listen to all the other reviews. Everything they say is on point.
I've been left on hold and forgotten about for 40 minutes at times. I was prescribed a medication that cost me over $100 and then was told I shouldn't have paid for it. YOU prescribed it to me! I'm not the doctor. The final straw was when I was left in a room for 1 hour before being seen. It wasn't even busy that day.
I give this place zero stars . The MAJOR probkem being the staff . If you call them to ask a question , they cut you off as you are trying to speak and are very passive aggressive loud and nasty . I had a biopsy done over a week ago , I was told to call back in a week , when I did call back a week later , I could only get the first three sentences out of my Mouth , once I reached the word biopsy , a nasty young brat behind the desk tries dominating the conversation saying loud and rude NO NO NO abut it’s that we didn’t even get a letter , ) not sure what language that is ) but anyway I said to her , you haven’t asked my name date of birth or even checked to see if it came back and you are so quick to yell out an answer ? I then got transferred to someone else . I said ok let me start this story again ..... I went slow figuring maybe they need a very slow play by play .... I said I had a biopsy done a week ago and I was inquiring if you received the results yet .. again LOUDLY ( trying to dominate the questioning ) said no no it takes TWO weeks . I said ok fine , now let’s move on to the blood work , have you received that yet ? She does her usual MO and says NO NO i said listen ok you didn’t even check ask or put me on hold to check your computer to see if it even came in and your yelling out a no ? I said it takes 3 days tops from labcirp to send over my blood results to al of my other doctors . She then reluctantly asks me my date of birth , puts me on a fake hold “ to passify me ) and comes back and says no we don’t have it . I said well call them and tell them to fax it to you . I have a friend who works at lab Corp and will be calling her tomorrow to see if it was sent over and if they just didn’t check , or had the results there and just didn’t feel like pulling it up . I have another apoitment tomorrow at 1140 . And I intend on addressing the doctor about her nasty staff . The funniest thing about this place and the staff of girls is they act as if they are working in an emergency room huffing and puffing in and out of rooms saving lives . It’s skin sweeties , skin . Also , I was suffering with a rash which is still going on despite all this doctors prescriptions. The first day I went she gave me two sample sized special creams that were a joke since I had the rash all over my body but the doctor didn’t bother to check me or listen . It was a Friday and I needed more for the weekend . I called and explained the situation and the nasty girl staff told me I was onmy supposed to be using a little of this cream . I said how can I use a little of this cream when it’s from my neck down to My damn feet ? She said she will call me back “ once she asks the doctor if I can have two more diner sized samples . Just so happens n husband was in the area and caught them with their jackets in leaving lol boy did they shut their pants caught in a lie and went back and gave me 3 more bottles until I received this special cream in the mail . The doctor isn’t sure why I am covered in these weird hives which I don’t even believe are hives . She said she has never seen a case as bad as mine . She spends time googling my suntpomns with the computer by he rooms trying to give me a diagnosis. lol so over this place . When I go there tomorrow I will address a lot of things . Don’t GO HERE ! First visit I waited about 2 1/2 to 3 hrs. I went and did my wash and came back and still waited. I was told to come back is a certain amount of time and had to wait almost another hour. Girl knew when she told me it would be longer. Should have told me the truth as I rushed the laundry to go and sit. Waiting area is small- they have a tv with movies on it but you can't see the screen from all the spots and really you are sitting on top of each other. I was told by another person there with her son she waits at least 3 hours each time she comes. I was I am not coming back to this lady. Go in for rash on my face and back. She spots a dot on my shoulder (summer and wearing tank top) that I thought was a freckle. She said it is black let me biopsy it. Came back okay but suggested removing root. I listened to her as she is the doctor. After going back for 2nd visit which I made in the morning not to wait 3 hours I only waited about an hour. She did full body examine and removed something else on my back- it came back as nothing. I had another doctor from her office remove the root on my shoulder. I immediately like him. I was taken a little while after my appointment which is understandable and was very happy with him and the nurse or whoever was in there with him. Made my appointment to have stitches removed in two weeks. Go back and found out he is only there certain days and times of the month. So now she is going to remove the stitches. Go in and two people in the waiting room. One goes in and the other goes in even though she wasn't called- maybe she was with someone. So now waiting again and other people coming in. Finally call me in and I am told okay 2 people ahead of you. How could that be when there was nobody in the waiting room. The one person came out. Sitting and waiting and girl comes in to get something and I say what is going on. Well we are doing fast track and they are different. A patient is a patient as far as I am concerned- my insurance pays with the same kind of money. Doctor finally comes in and is annoyed she is removing my stitches and asked the girl how many more of these do I have today. Someone should have told her before cause I should have been the fast track patient as those stitches were removed in 90 seconds. The biggest thing was to make me uncomfortable about only having stitches removed- well doctor you are the one who said to get the root removed. Very unprofessional to act like that in front of a patient even if you felt that way about taking the stitches out. The biggest thing was I had gone to her with the rash on my face that she says is an allergy- gave me cream and said to take allergy pills- well the rash was spread on my face and she didn't even bother to look or ask hey what is going on. Maybe she was not getting paid to remove stitches but that is not my problem. I made it very obvious I was not happy and when she said I come back in April for skin check I was like yea okay. She has a very hard way of talking to people and that doesn't sit well with me but worst of all was the waiting AGAIN to be treated like I was a welfare case. I wish I had my statement from my insurance to post how much she will be paid to remove stitches and to act like that. Not a place I will go back to. Hey doc everyone's time is money not just yours. First visit I waited about 2 1/2 to 3 hrs. I went and did my wash and came back and still waited. I was told to come back is a certain amount of time and had to wait almost another hour. Dr. Ilardo and the convenient location deserve 5 stars. I took off two stars because they don’t accept credit cards for payment but ironically ask for credit card information in case you have an outstanding bill. This is 2018, even parking can be paid with credit cards. I had to add one star because they have movies playing on the waiting and examination room monitors. This makes the wait time go by quicker. I guess doctors are like airlines in that they overbook appointments. They assume a percentage of patients will not show up. A 12:20p appointment translates to 1:00p when you actually see a doctor. Do dermatologists have a marketing deal with the makers of Aquaphor? I looked at the active ingredient of this recommended skin product and it’s 41% petrolatum. Couldn’t I use Vaseline petroleum jelly and get the same results? One last thing, you better enjoy the movie, cause there’s no cell phone reception in that office Dr. Ilardo and the convenient location deserve 5 stars. TOTALLY HORRIBLE!!!!!!!! SHE TOLD ME I HAD CANCER OF THE TONGUE AND SAID NO AMOUNT OF MEDICATION IS GOING TO FIX THIS!!!!!!!! THIS IS A HORROR STORY!!!!!!! she was horrendously horrible. Feel confident in Docs abilities and comfortable with her, not that it matters but she's easy on the eyes as well

After waiting over 1 hour without courtesy explanation I was asked to go into a examination room ,get naked and sit in a very uncomfortable chair to await my prior Biopsy report. This doctors office is very uncoordinated and they overbook Patients. Dr. was ok but God forbid you don't pay your copay they send you to collections and TRY to ruin your credit for a few measly dollars. Those people don't know how to bill correctly especially when you have a secondary insurance. Unbelievable! Never again.
Went to pick up my daughters results and because I didn't have cash to pay for the copay mind you not seeing my daughter only results from the test she ran, they stated the doctor would not see me. Initially the receptionist seemed bothered when I told her that I was sorry I didn't have cash just my bank card. Honest mistake I didn't know. She said she'd bill me but gave me attitude. Then they asked me if I can go outside to an Atm to take out the money. They told me they were sorry but not really and I was turned away. I went to dr Ilarda earlier this year for a mole on my back. Turned out to be skin cancer. She caught it on time and saved my life.
Dr. Ilarda is a great doctor. She is very caring and conscientious of her patients needs and it shows in the way she treats them. During our first appointment she went through my medical history and was happy to hear out many of my own concerns about my dermatology issues. It was really great to feel like your doctor cares and isn't just trying to rush through the days patients! Ive been back many times and I would definitely recommend her!
Dr is a SICK person beware she is knife happy and very unprofessional, she burned my face saying I had pre- cancer and sent me out of the office without anything to sooth the burning, I had to stop at a local drug store for ice packs ,never went back to her. Found a wonderful Dr. In Manhattan, to remove a basil cell carcinoma.

Dr. Ilarda was amazing! I been dealing with cystic acne for years now and most doctors i've been to prescribed the same creams and face washes that just dry out my skin and make things worse. Dr ilarda put me on an entire skin care regimen and within a few weeks i noticed a huge difference.
A good derm that i can always recommend to family
Her people skills are very good, ive never felt so cared for by any dermatologist before. She fit me in last minute and we have built a great rapport after only a few appointments.
excellent doctor and staff. love the way she treats patients
Dr ilarda is great! Ive been a patient for a few years, shes done great things for my chronically dry skin. And its great that her office is walking distance from my home in Middle Village Queens. I recommend her to friends and family members all the time and they love her as well.
DR Ilarda was a great dermatologist. Took me on as a new patient, and it was fairly easy scheduling an appointment. She took her time with and I wasn't rushed out of the office at all. The staff assisted me with my paperwork and insurance, I highly recommend her to anyone in need of a dermatologist!
Dr/ Llarda was very helpful and accommodating. I scheduled my appointment last minute and Dr. Llarda and her staff found a way to fit me into her schedule even with my limited availability. Upon entering i was greeted warmly by staff, was offered a magazine to read and received help in filling out my paperwork. Wait time was only about 10 minutes maybe less, best of any doctor ive seen in a long time! Dr. Llarda was plesant and knew what she was doing, Overall great experience!
Excellent doctor! Took care of my daughters acne, we had taken her to 2/3 derms in the past and her cystic acne was only getting worse. Dr. llarda and her staff treatment worked by far the best, and didnt keave my daughter with overly dry skin or any scarring.
Very satisfied with Ilarda's Care. I have gone to Ilarda for a couple years and have always been very satisfied with the care and attention that I have received.
Very good derm and very good practice
Awful experience with this doctor. I waited over an hour in a room and when I was finally seen, she was arrogant and dismissive. This awful diagnosis took 5 minutes. Do your research and find someone competent.
Reallly terrible place and doctor! Have appointments, but I wait anyway 1,5 hours before they call my name and 20 more min in a little room before finally she's come to see me ! Waste of time
If you dont have a life and want to sit it the waiting room for more then one hour thats a place for you to go! Waste of time!
Horrible......I wouldn't send my dog there with a rash.....office girls very unprofessional. ..eating while in office. Screaming at each other ....doctor shows up. Whenever she wants....very nasty people....
