I had a bad herniation of L5 and S1. I saw Dr Stoev and he explained my situation and his recommendation. I hadn't been able to sit or be on my feet for weeks. An MRI showed the nerve root in my spine was compressed. The surgery was done the following day. I went home the same day and was off of prescription pain relievers in 5 days. My incision was about an inch and my physical therapist said it healed beautifully! Dr Stoev was very kind and compassionate. Kaitlyn was a great patient advocate. I would trust Dr Stoev with my spine care any day. He truly cares about his patients. I am 66 and this was my first surgery.

I have had back issues for over a decade and was unable to find any relief. Went to see Dr. Stoev and we went over my options . We ended up doing a minimally invasive TLIF. He explained everything in detail prior to the surgery and what I would expect after. After it was all said and done, I can honestly say I feel 100% better. It’s been 6 weeks and I am starting to get back to living a normal, functional life. I will recommend Dr Ivan Stoev anytime.Had Failed back fusion and went to see Dr Stoev and he explained the procedure best to my understanding.During the weekend,He was there to take care of me after the surgery and I call that dedication, selfless and passion for his clients.All you did for me are very much appreciated and to the Nurse,Kaitlyn,you are awesome. Prior to moving to Nashville he was at Memorial West in FL. He did a microdiscectomy on me in 2018 for a bad herniation. He told me I would be pain free after the surgery and he was right. Great manner, caring and Florida's loss is TN gain.

Dr. Stoev was a wonderful doctor. He was extremely honest and knowledgeable. His assistant Kaitlyn was very helpful and contacted us when we were discharged from the hospital to make sure we were scheduled for our follow up appointment. Highly recommend!

I had SEVERE pain and went to the Emergency Room at Centennial Hospital in Nashville on a Sunday evening. They did a full spinal MRI, gave me pain medication, and instructed me to call the Neurosurgeon on Monday morning and make an appointment for Wednesday which was the day he did consultations. I made the appointment and saw Dr. Stoev at 1:00 on Wednesday. He explained in laymen's terms what I was experiencing (herniated disc). He went over all of the options of possible treatments. I said that I wanted whatever had the best chance of a permanent fix because I had been suffering from this disc for decades. He said surgery (microdiscotomy). I want to be clear, Dr. Stoev did not push me toward surgery, I made that decision on my own. He gave me many other options. He said he could work me in on Thursday (He does procedures on Tuesdays and Thursdays). I simply said that if it was going to be the next day he would have to give me something to knock me out because at that point I had been awake for nearly 50 hours from pain. He stepped out of the room, returned, and said, "How about now?" I was in pre-op at 4:00, surgery at 5:00, regained consciousness at almost 7:00. I was home at 8:00. My pain was completely gone! I had been dealing with this problem for over four decades and in one and a half hours he fixed it! Greatest experience with a medical professional I've ever had in my 60 years. The last 2 weeks have been nothing short than exhausting especially for Brent. We were sent home from the Bone and Joint Institute 3 different times in the last 2 weeks saying it’s just a pinched nerve and that he would have to “hang in there” until the 29th for an MRI even though I called them begging and pleading to please get him rushed in today because something was wrong and they couldn’t make it happen and offered him no help???? By the grace of God, I called Kaitlyn O'Connor because my sister reminded me she worked for one of the top neurosurgeons. After explaining his symptoms she said he absolutely must be seen today. We were admitted to Southern Hills for an MRI and he ended up having to have surgery today on his neck. He had severely herniated C6/C7 causing it to pinch a nerve which made his arm go numb( which apparently is very serious despite The Bone and Joint Institute not thinking so)??????? Surgery was his only option. HIGHLY recommend Dr. Stoev!

Dr. Stoev is very professional and very friendly. He told me everything he saw on my mri and i was shocked at the results. But he made me comfortable and reassured me that he could help me with these problems. I believed in him and i am so glad i did! I has back surgery and his work was perfect! I recovered quickly and have zero pain now!!!!

Dr Stoev and his staff is awesome! I had been suffering from lower back pain since 2007 and had just been dealing with it. In Dec 2019 I started having siactic nerve pain also. The MRI showed I had 2 issues a herniated disk and a disk that was completely degenerated so my primary doctor referred me to Dr Stoev. He was very knowledgeable and explained in detail the options that were available. I chose to have minimal invasive spinal fusion surgery and I am so glad that I did. It has been 5 weeks since I had the surgery and I feel great!!. The nerve pain is gone and my back feels great and I have not felt this good in years. I definitely recommend Dr Stoev you will not be disappointed. Thank you so much Dr Stoev!!

This office is great! Dr. Stoev's assistant is so kind and helpful. She went above and beyond to make sure my appointment was scheduled with the doctor they wanted me to go to. and she helped me get my surgery approved with my insurance. Dr. Stoev is a blessing and so wonderful i am going to send everyone to see him! i am now pain freee and can walk comfortably

Dr. Stoev from day one was both educational and consistent with the information. He did not make me feel as though it was impending doom, but was very straight forward about my diagnosis and my surgical treatment plan. He also arranged the additional needs for ablation and more. Dr. Stoev was extremely like-able and helpful. He checked on me every day while I was in the hospital and all the office visits after were again educational. On a couple occasions they worked me in due to other concerns and they were patient and kind. I would (and have) referred others to him and praise his work. Kaitlyn O'Connor (his assistant), was so exceptional as well. She was receptive to my needs and extremely accommodating! Personable, friendly, and kind! I LOVE THESE GUYS!!!

great neurosurgeons my wife visited 3 neurosurgeons in Nashville TN before Dr. Stove and none of the really made us feel they cared and we didn't feel comfortable with any of them when we visited Dr Stove he told us everything in details without putting pressure on us to have it done he was 100% honest about the outcome and told us she still night have pain after the surgery witch was expected the surgury went well she is recovering well his office was there when we called during the recovery they called us back every time we called very nice neurosurgeons I would highly recommend

I cannot say enough about how AMAZING Dr. Stoev is. I went to 3 different neurosurgeons before him, none would take the time to actually review my MRIs, tgey just wanted to jump into cutting me open. When I got to my first appointment with Dr. Stoev he had already reviewed ALL of my previous MRIs and had notes..about me! He is very talented, up to date with all the latest practices and LISTENES, Answers ALL your questions. he really cares about his patients, his nurse, Kaitlyn is an absolute sweetheart as well. Dr Stoev did back surgery on me and thats about it. I read about him before I chose to see him. It all sounded good until after surgery. He saw me 2 weeks after my surgery..2 weeks I think I thought a caring Dr..as it turns out..boom done!!! I expected much more since we where dealing with a persons back. Maybe 6 to 8wks to see how his patient was doing..wrong..way wrong!!! Everyone is different..one would think he would care about that. He couldn't wait to get me out of his office! Best neurosurgeon in town. Ivan is reliable, honest, and brings modern techniques to Nashville unlike any other doctor in town. Highly recommend him to anyone.

Dr. Stoev explained in detail what I needed to know in order to make a decision about surgery. He offered pain management as a much safer alternative. His office assistant was very helpful and kind.

Dr. Stoev and his staff are GREAT!!! He knew exactly what I needed at my first office visit. Presley (his MA) got me scheduled for surgery very quickly. Everything has turned out wonderfully. Dr. Stoev is such a fantastic surgeon! I was researching Neurosurgeons in my area to get a few opinions on my lower back issues. After meeting with several Neurosurgeons and their nurse practitioners, I instantly felt a huge amount of relief and trust within Dr. Stoev. From my first initial visit I knew I was going to choose him as my surgeon. The hospital was absolutely gorgeous. I have never been to Southern Hills before and this spine unit is brand new with its own private cafe for the patients and their families. I felt like I was staying in a super nice hotel. Everyone was so friendly and put my nerves at ease as I was nervous to undergo surgery. The nurses at Dr. Stoev's office are so helpful they handled everything from scheduling my MRI to helping me with my FMLA paperwork. The entire experience was so wonderful. I would recommend any and everyone to go meet with this doctor! He is such a delight and extremely helpful!

I started seeing Dr. Stoev about a year ago, and from the beginning he has explained everything in a way I could understand, especially what needed to be done for my health. In June of 2019 he preformed a lower spinal fusion and it went very smoothly. If you want to get rid of your pain that you are having then Dr. Stoev is the only one you need to see.

Dr. Stoev was so nice and through. He had plenty of time to spend with me and he said he was treating me just like I was his family which means one thing to me; honesty. I really think he is the best neurosurgeon to go to!

This was only my first appointment, but the staff is very kind and welcoming! I really appreciated Sr. Stoev taking the time to listen and have no doubt in his mind that he will get me back where I need to be. I will update after my next appointments!

Dr. Stoev and his team are fantastic! They were always available to answer any questions I had. My insurance gave me some issues that postponed my surgery, and the team was right by my side every step of the way! They helped me navigate the insurance world and get things back on track. Grateful is an understatement! Not only are they professional, they are also very kind. I have, and will continue to, recommend Dr.Stoev and his team to everyone I meet.

I have seen at least 50 doctors in my 60 years on this planet. Dr Stoev is simply heads and shoulders above anyone I have ever met. I visited 5 surgeons in Central Florida as I had severe compression of the spinal cord in my cervical area. No one that I met sounded confident enough to perform the surgery. My visit with him lasted over an hour and was the most thorough and honest evaluation I had received. He was amazing. Basically he saved my life from not becoming paralyzed

Dr. Stoev is nothing short of amazing! One year ago, I got news of a tumor on my brain that needed to be removed immediately because of where it was on my brain. Being only 29, this was very sudden and very scary. Dr. Stoev's care, from the very beginning to the very end, was impeccable. His bedside manner was amazing. He took the time to explain in detail everything I needed to hear to both my parents and I. He made me feel comfortable every step of the way. Honestly, he's my hero!

My 72 year old mother was suffering from chronic back pain for two years. She was very depressed not only because of the constant pain but because her activity level had diminished greatly. We were referred to Dr. Stoev and I can't say enough about what an amazing doctor he is! He is very personable and friendly and made my mother feel comfortable enough to have the surgery with him. After being in debilitating pain for over 8 months, I finally made the decision to see a neurosurgeon. My husband and I met with Dr. Stoev, the first time we met, he spent over an hour explaining my condition, the options for surgery and the reality of recovery. The news he presented was direct, honest and fully explained. I have been to a lot of doctors and have had other surgeries, I have never had a surgeon be so generous with their time. I had the surgery and am thrilled with the results!

I highly recommend Dr. Stoev to others experiencing pain and in need of surgery. I had emergency surgery a month and a half ago and feel so much better. It was the best decision that I could of made regarding a herniated disc that was causing tremendous of pain and affecting my nerves. The office staff was very helpful and answered my questions regarding my recovery. I was very surprised on how fast the on-call staff responded to calls I made on the weekend.

My surgical procedure was a minimally invasive microdiscectomy due to severe right-side sciatica. Doctor Stoev was very professional, knowledgeable, experienced and compassionate with amazing follow up care. Since the procedure in December of 2015, i’ve had no further complications or pain from sciatica.

I had a bulging disc, L5 S1. It pressed on my nerve canal going down my left buttock and left leg. The pain felt like constant severe cramping. So the question was to either first do conservative therapy and see if it works or have a small incision in my back and a tiny piece of the disc removed that pressed against the nerve canal. I decided for the surgery after being explained all my options. I was in and out the same day and afterwards right away felt better. 2 months later and close to 100%

Recently I was diagnosed with a brain tumor.Only hours later we met with Dr. Ivan Stoev and plotted a course of action to combat this illness. Several options were explained and we decided to opt for the most aggressive surgery--an AWAKE craniotomy. Dr. Stoev's calm and confident explanations, professionalism and knowledge made a very difficult decision somewhat easier. While I don't wish a similar diagnosis on anyone, if needed, I highly recommend Dr. Stoev and ARNP Paula who is also terrific!

Wow where do I start! Dr. Stoev operated on my dad's brain and removed a tumor. Although I was not the patient I was there taking care of my dad and he had never been in a hospital before. I never met a doctor with such patience and genuine care for his patients, sometimes that's all people need. I just want to thank you Dr. and your team for saving my dads life and for choosing a profession to change peoples lives. You are more than a doctor you are a leader that provides courage and knowledge.

Dr. Stoev is amazing it's not going to be believable but I honestly have never had pain in my back I did have Fusion between the 4th and 5th Lombard and it's been three months since then and I have no pain his staff is amazing particularly Paula and besides being a cutie don't worry I'm 54 I'm an old lady he has very gentle hands and will answer every question I highly highly recommend Dr S.
