I am very pleased for the attention I was given and the way everything was explained to me . They always make me feel very welcome. Thank you for all your service.
Staff was not welcoming at all, they called me the day prior for appointment and the day of they didn’t know I had one. Staff was very disorganized and did not know what they were doing.
PROBLEM WAS NOT WITH DR RODRIGUEZ. EXPERIENCE WITH THE FRONT DESK STAFF WAS NOT A POSITIVE ONE.DR RODRIGUEZ HAD GIVEN ME A CARE PLAN REQUIRING 6 APPOINTMENTS. ONE APPOINTMENT WAS DEEMED UNNECESSARY AFTER THE FIRST TEST. I COMPLETED TESTS 3 AND 4. AND WHEN I REPORTED FORTHE FINAL SESSION I WAS TOLD I HAD TO UNDERGO AN ADDITIONAL TEST. THE FRONT DESK COULD NOT EXPLAIN WHY THIS WAS NECESSARY REFUSED MY REQUEST TO SEE THE DR. THE COPAY 2.5 TIMES HIGHER THAN NORMAL. I WAS RESCHEDULED FOR ANUTHER TEST MORE THAN 30 DAYS LATER. I ASKED IF I WAS JUST GOING TO TAKE THE ORIGINAL TEST OR IF THEY WERE GOING REQUIRE THIS EXTRA TEST THAT I HAD REFUSED TAKE. I WAS REFUSED AN ANSWER. PROBLEM WAS NOT WITH DR RODRIGUEZ. It is ridiculous how long the wait here is. My first appt was changed due to doctor not being here. When I did come in, the doctor wasn’t here anyway. I will be looking to switch to another doctor. This doctor doesn’t value patients’ time. My appointment today was at 2. It is 3:30 and I’m still here waiting.
Dr is good but the staff does not follow through with his orders. He ordered meds which require prior approval. Pharmacy has requested paperwork and staff does not follow though. We have called them about it and they say they will take care of it and call us back. Never happens. This has been going on for 8 months. Donât waste your time.
Staff takes too long to get you seen by the doctor. My appointment was for 4:00pm and I wasn’t seen until 7:30pm. Other patients were upset because they had been waiting since 1:30pm and were not seen until after 4:30pm. Worst place ever. Don’t go!! Always rescheduling at the last minute because they “don’t have clinic that day.” So why do they schedule it in the first place?! Really long waiting time and the PA completely dismissed all my symptoms like it was nothing. Never going back. Waste of over $200!!
Scheduled an appoiment for 1:10. No guarantee that Dr would see me at that time. May have to wait 3 or 4 hours before seek g doctor. This is very unprofessional. Seems like he would be doing his patients a favor. I recommend to look for another doctor.
I had my 1st appt. re-scheduled because the doctor would not be there. On my next appt. date he was late and nobody was warned about it. I lost 4 hours at work to be there and after almost two hours waiting to be seen, I asked for my paperwork and copay back and left this extremely unprofessional doctors place.
Nice man. Professional office staff. Long waits but this is a COVID World. Note that the office address is not boldly displayed on the building and the building addresses on this street are not in sequence. Driving from the Medical Center the addresses are 508, 512, then 510.
If it was possible i will give no stars horrible service full lobby appointment at 4pm it was 7 pm and the doctor still has more patients before my husband new patient that was never seen they won’t even bother to apologize for the wait .
Will find another specialist.
Worst doctor ever! DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY AT THIS PLACE ! I even had a professional doctor tell me that this was not worth my time.
The doctor didn’t even read the report from the CT SCAN I TOOK, he was just guessing what was wrong with my mom, until I told him to read the report I submitted it to the nurse. Very bad experience and very expensive for a private pay patient. A waste of money (300) dollars for consultation. Don’t go there
Where to begin , first let me say a doctor/specialist should never tell a person who is not even the patient “to smoke more so he can have more patients.” Didn’t even read the results , explain the outcome to tests , but it was a birthday party also so that’s probably why the doctor didn’t even pay attention to the patients needs.I wonder if he’s ever been reported to the Texas Medical Board. Horrible front desk staff. Girl named elvie always has some smart alec remark. My mom was a new patient and when I called week prior to her appt to verify and I explained reason for my call she told me she didn't know who i was. What does that have to do with verifying appt date and time? I went into office in person at about 10:30 on date of my mom's appt 10/5/2020 to get new patient paperwork to complete prior to 2 p.m. appt. When i walked up to receptionist window there was a male employee with ponytail who yelled ' maam you have to sit down' . I did not see any signs indicating i could not walk up to window for assistance. When i told him what i needed he gave me paperwork but then elvie told me i could not take them out of building. Not sure why. I was just trying to save everyone time by having them ready for appt at 2 p.m. Elvie said u wont be wasting my time and she told me my mom's appt was at 1:20. Can anyone get appt dates and times correct in that office ? I asked for her supervisor and i was told she was out. I then asked for person in charge and again i was told she was out. I asked for managers name and # and i was told it was cookie. I had spoken to frances on 10/2/2020 and was advised my mom's appt was on 10/5/2020 at 2 p.m. pretty sad that i give a rating of one without even visiting with doctor. It was very difficult making appointments in the Brownsville office. The billing people were very disorganized. I had a great many out of pocket expenses because the office didnt take my cafeteria plan flex card. I only met with the MD once for 5 minutes

I read the prior reviews and I was hesitant to see this doctor. Thus far my experience has been very positive. The doctor and his staff have been professional, friendly and knowledgeable. My mother went here due to breathing issues. He told her she had a black spot in her lung and it didn’t look good. My mother proceeded in calling my brother, he quickly changed his story and says to not worry, they will be running test on her. In the end my mom ended up switching Doctors and fortunately whatever the doctor saw was not there when she went to the different doctor . Also, where he sent her to get her lab work done was not professional, one of the nurses told my mom that someone she knew had what she had. She said “ask me where she is at today? She’s dead.” Why in the world will something like that come out of your mouth!!!! Thank God she found someone else who was able to help her and not put fear in her. They wanted and are still trying to charge me for a visit not kept due to them saying Dr would not be in on sceguled day. I asked for proof of the visit. They said a copy of daily sign in sheet would prove it. Never got it.
I've only seen Dr. Rodriguez once. The other visits were with the PA's. Very patient and up to date on treatments. They explain lung function tests and show CT scans while discussing results.
Staff at the Harlingen location take too long to call you in even when you're scheduled at a specific time. The first time I came for an appointment I was scheduled at 2:45 pm, arrived before that, but was called in over an hour later. Then they took forever to do the necessary checkups and had me wait some more, so the doctor didn't see me until yet another hour later and I ended up leaving past their closing time. Then I was scheduled to spend two nights at the clinic for studies. For the second night they called the same day of the appointment to reschedule. When I showed up for my rescheduled appointment (which had been confirmed only hours earlier) the clinic was closed. I called the answering service and learned that they had canceled the appointment. 5/20/20 I spent another hour waiting for the CPAP chip reading and I was never called in. ALL OTHER patients that were in for the same procedure were called in before me even though I had been waiting longer than any of them.

Then of course I ended in the hospital due to lack of medications, called again to request the refills, was online waiting for the NP for 23.47 minutes, I had to call 3 times, finally the 3rd time she took the call after lets say 2 minutes, explained the situation and she let me know that since my last appt. was in October she could not give me any refills without being seeing. I let her know that I was in the hospital and she asked which one and she said that she had access to my record, which is ok, then told me “well then they give you a prescription go and get it”, I was like whatttttt, I asked for the doctor and she had the guts to tell me that he was on vacation and was not coming for a month, I was like.. “he just came from vacation, but ok, he’s the doctor”. Then I let her know that I have being a patient for 14 years and that I needed the refills because he wasn’t coming until 1 month

I highly recommend the doctor to spend more time in Brownsville office, she staff is not treating the patient with care, too much rudeness. But when heâs there everyone is at task and the office moves on a fast paced not like when heâs not.
The doctor is very nice. Knows what he is doing, however communications and planning with the office not good. The do not call when they say they will call or call back. You need to keep calling them and reminding them and explaining to them who you are and what you need. They asked for my records three times even though the records were faxed and taken in and handed to them. You might believe you will get a call on Monday but you probably will not.
Came super early to fill out paper work appointment was at 12 i came in at 11:45 went in got a breathing test got sent out after being in for 15 minutes after that i sat outside waiting for the doctor for an hour so not only did income in early for my appointment but after they still took a long time to call me in

Has great bed side manners. Very knowledgeable and shows he cares for patients. He does have a lot of patients so sometimes you have to wait on your appointment.
