My 10yo daughter was seen by this Dr for severe pain and inability to bear weight on her foot and ankle. After a brief inspection he determined that “it’s all in her head” and sent us on our way. After five more days of severe pain, a visit to the Emergency Room determined her tibia was fractured.

Told my 10yo daughter, complaining of severe ankle pain (who ended up having a broken tibia) that the problem was “all in her head”.

Dr. Hartson is very professional and pleasant. I just had total knee replacement that he performed and I totally recommend him if you’re having this procedure done. He’s wonderful and thorough. ❤️

Ok when ever I make poor judgment then i would like to apologize for not knowing everything. Sorry Dr. Hartson I know u care about your patients and me just spoken to your assistance and she claimed all my concerns and fears thanks so much that's why I'm not the doctor he is. ??????

The address and telephone number you find online are both incorrect. After being sent to two old addresses, having multiple offices trying to contact him on my behalf and waisting 26 minutes driving around I FINALLY located his office. The receptionist was very rude and refused to listen to anything I had to say. I was refused to be seen due to false information from this office. Don't waist your time trying to see this doctor. If there were no stars that would be my choice. I broke my arm in September of 2016.. Dr Hartson operated on my arm and then I went through rehab. Dr. Hartson is charming and seemed to always answer all my questions. I went back to the office once in November and then December because something bothered me about my arm. I was reassured that all was well and then felt that I might have to adjust to how the arm felt as I was told nothing was wrong. I went on a trip overseas and while attempting to get on a bus I felt something in my arm. I stayed on the trip for 2 weeks and then went to see Dr. Hartson on my return. He informed me that I had re broken my arm and that he would have to operate once again. Fortunately I had a friend in Detroit who is an orthopedic surgeon and sent him the x-ray. It showed at least one screw loose and several bent. He took one look at the x-ray and called and said DO NOT LET THIS DOCTOR OPERATE ON YOU. HE DIDN'T USE THE RIGHT EQUIPMENT THE FIRST TIME AND CANNOT FIX IT THIS TIME. I was able to find a doctor in South Bend who had to operate 6 1/2 hours, give me a blood transfusion and cadaver bone to repair my arm. My recovery was also much faster as compared to my first surgery. Dr. Hartson may be good on hips and knees but since my initial surgery I have talked to several people with issues over arm surgery. My advice is to be ware of this man no matter how charming he is. If there were no stars that would be my choice. I broke my arm in September of 2016.. In September I had a total hip replacement, Dr Harrison and his staff were great. I had a great experience with a great surgeon, everything is going great, thank to all who made this possible. I highly recommend him.

Dr. Hartson is great with awesome bedside manner. This is my first experience with him for I suffer with RA. He answer my questions and removed any anxiety with his great sense of humor. My right knee replacement is going great and I would highly recommend him.

Dr. James O. Hartson, his nurse practitioner Sara Gonzalez and staff are by far the best orthopedic place here in michigan city indiana caring and tons of respect for the patients novel looking down at you sits next to you and talk to you like a human not like a paycheck or a number if there was away to give them more stars I would five them more I jet want to thank you and your staff some much for taking great care of me Sincerely Jeffery Preston

He did surgery on my foot. I didn't think it would ever be right again. He did a great job. I would recommend him to anyone in my situation. I'm still healing every day thanks to him. Also very nice man.

Dr Hartson completed emergency surgery on my fractured and dislocated shoulder in the early morning hour of Christmas Day, Dr. Hartson and his team came to my aid. I was in incredible pain. They put me at ease and took care of me immediately. He was professional and compassionate. I am so fortunate to have been placed in his care.
