I felt so brushed off when going to see him. I had significant vision loss in a three day time span. He stated it was due to dry eyes. I saw the doctor for 3 to 5 minutes max before leaving the room. I did not feel he had my full interest in mind. Not a doctor I will be seeing again.

After having a horrible experience with a verbally and emotionally abusive, so-called double vision "expert" at another eye care clinic in Stow, I was lucky enough to find Dr. Johnston. Pam and the other techs I saw were especially kind and patient. I was there two and a half hours, but waited no more than ten minutes between tests and exams. I found Dr. Johnson to be calm, understanding, willing to answer my questions and extremely knowledgeable about my condition. He actually talked to me about his diagnosis as opposed to the "expert" telling me my options were "death or surgery". Fortunately, he was wrong and I feel very comfortable in Dr. Johnston's care. I highly recommend Dr. Johnston and the staff at Novus.

Dr. Johnston’s staff needs training on scheduling. The receptionist needs training on days of the week! Was told had a MRI on a Friday took 1/2 day off drive to hospital to find out appointment is Tuesday. Receptionist said I did not tell you Friday. what did I just make that up? Awful!!! So stressful at a already stressful time in life!!! Tallmadge office.

Waited over an hour just to see Dr. Johnston. Not thorough by any means.

Won't refer anyone to Novus Clinic (Dr. James L. Johnston). Preformed Strabmius Surgery on me (2/27/18). Had relaxed some in the pre-op room but when they got me into the OR I was in pain in my left side of my head. I woke up twice during surgery & the last time I was awake the entire time. Johnston said I wouldn"t feel a thing & be put to sleep. Not true! Find a doctor that cares about u b/c he doesn't. Going to diff. dr. now. she cares. Didn't put me to sleep as he said.

Answered questions in understandable manner and listened to what I had to say.

I like Dr Johnson very much and highly recomend him to anyone. He has helped me with cataracts and glaucoma. My husband will be going to him soon!!

I had cataract surgery and Dr. Johnston was very professional, friendly, answered any questions I had and performed the procedure without any problems. I highly recommend Dr. Johnston and all the staff at Novus. You won't find a better group of professionals anywhere in the area. Thank You Dr. Johnston, you restored eyesight that had been gone for years.

The whole staff is very nice Dr Johnston is a very good Eye Doctor he explains things normally and took his time to correct my eye issue with great results. Thank you .

Dr. J is very caring and took time to listen to me. He was concerned and answered all of my questions.

Dr. Johnston has been my ophthalmologist for over three years, and i have been very satisfied with his ability to help me with maintaining healthy eyes and explaining the issues that have given me problems, such as allergies and how the eyes change as a result of aging.

I would NEVER recommend him. I suffered a concussion. Novus was referred. This doctor disregarded my pain. I pushed him away to make him stop. He told me certain test results were poor and didn't explain why or what. He gave a SECONDARY diagnosis based on my age ONLY. He said I should have eye issues at my age though I have no previous issues. Then he didn't diagnosis the results from the test at all. Trust him to retest me. NEVER. He doesn't listen to the patients and he giggles as he work.

I took my mom, who is 83 and has had a stroke, kicking and screaming to an appointment to find out how bad her cataracts were. Every single person there was gentle and patient with her. Pam, the technician, took her hand to walk her to the examining room, and gently guided her throughout several screenings. Dr. Johnston, likewise, was patient with her refusal for cataract surgery at this time but allowed her the option of just getting glasses that would improve her sight somewhat for 6 months.
