Saw Dr LeBolt per recommendation of my PT. I hurt one of my shoulders a few months ago where I tore my AC. Did an MRI. Overall, he appears attentive, informative and caring. At this point, I am following his recommendations and find no reason not to.

Dr. James Lebolt, DO Repaired both of my shoulders. He did a wonderful job. His staff was very helpful. Rehab helped with my healing. Margie

I have nothing but great things to say about Dr Lebolt and his staff! The service leading up to...and following the remarkable job done on my shoulder, was nothing short of extraordinary. I can’t say enough about Dr. Lebolt and his team! From the first consult to the 6 month followup our experience was amazing - caring conversations, detailed explanations of the diagnosis, clearly communicated plan for repair and recovery. I would highly recommend!

Excellent orthopedic surgeon. Has excellent presence with patients, guidance for best path forward while considering overall well-being and effectively conveys confidence in health recommendations.

He was amazing and helped our son with his torn labrum. He plays college baseball and he was awesome! Very very kind and understanding. He even did a zoom call so we didn’t have to drive for every visit.

Dr. LeBolt was phenomenal. I tore my labrum throwing from baseball, had surgery, and so far after 3 weeks I am in no pain whatsoever. Stand up guy that can talk to you in a clear and concise way, which many others in the profession can’t say.

Dr. LeBolt did my rotator cuff surgery and I couldn’t be happier! I’m two years out and my shoulder is great. Therapy is a huge part of rotator cuff surgery. You have to do your part.

I have Osteophyte (Bone Spur) Anyway, I went to my regular doctor for the diagnosis and treatment of this problem. My family physician referred me to SHMG Orthopedics & Sports Medicine. On September 3,2013 Dr. Lebolt’s assistant ordered a x-ray for me, then proceeded to give me 2, yes 2 cortisone shots. I have told this assistant over and over again that I could not move my left arm and the amount of pain I have been in. He told me that in a few days I would start to feel better. The cortisone shots did not even last 2 weeks. I had to wait 3 months before I was allowed to get another appointment. Dr. Lebolt was actually in the office this visit. I have to re-explain all of my symptoms, even the 2 cortisone shots. Dr. Lebolt then pulled out one shot. I said you need one more of those and they do not last very long. I asked over and over again to have this horrible painful thing taken out of my arm. Dr. Lebolt told me that when the pain was under a level 3 or lower he would. These appointment’s were the same every time. I finally gave up going, due to not getting any results. All this Doctor had to do was surgical remove this bone spur. Simple! Why he refused to do this is a mystery. It’s been 7 years!!!!! I am still in the same amount of pain as I was in in 2013! I cannot move my arm, lift anything over 1 pound or sleep very well. Now I have NEVER had a doctor show: 1. Blatant negligence of my condition 2. Not proceed in a surgery that was more than necessary. 3. Continue filling me with cortisone 4. Expect me to continually remind him of my treatment history while under his care I really think he should be reported to the AMA or whoever monitors doctor’s licenses, because his lack of awareness and blatant disregard for his patients is what leads to horrible medical accidents like administering the wrong prescriptions, mistaken diagnosis, performing surgery on the wrong body part, etc. I have Osteophyte (Bone Spur) Anyway, I went to my regular doctor for the diagnosis and treatment of this problem. Dr. Lebolt has been nothing short of amazing. Very professional and great care provided, alongside being very personable.

So grateful for Dr. Lebolt and the kind, caring, and professional treatment he has provided for our family over the years. I personally have had knees issues for many years due to running and had to have my meniscus fixed in my right knee. I have been able to postpone having double knee replacement surgery for over 5 years with alternative treatments due to his great care. Thankful to have such a talented doctor with great character in our community. Wish I didnt see this guy. Hurt my existing injury so bad I barely did anything for a month. I guess he is good for knees but I would get a second opinion anyways. The other docs that looked at my injury did not cause me pain. Why this one? He knew damn well what the imaging showed. The intake form asks for your attorney information. up front. what? Why????

Today was my final checkup for rotator cuff surgery performed by Dr. LeBolt on 8/29/2019. I couldn't be more pleased. My health and comfort were at the forefront of every visit. Dr. LeBolt was an absolute pleasure to have on my side. His staff was also very caring. I never felt rushed at any appointments. They took their time to listen and made me feel like I was on the right road to recovery with every step. My physical therapy went very well and I believe it all started with my surgeon. Thank you Dr. LeBolt!

Doctor LeBolt is an outstanding doctor. He will listen to all your concerns , and aches and pains. He takes his time with you, and makes sure all of your questions are answered. He takes the extra step to make sure your comfortable with every choice throughout your health options and issues. For me , he is one of the great ones.

I had the opportunity to see Dr Lebolt some time back to get a 2nd opinion about my knee. What I remember is he really didn't ask many questions and I felt rushed. Never saw him after that.

Great surgeon, Is very knowledgeable and forthcoming.

Ruptured my ACL and tore meniscus in September, had surgery in October, and was back to playing basketball in April.

Dr. Lebolt is hands down the best surgeon in West Michigan. Have seen him multiple times, always kind and compassionate. Truly cares for his patients and their success following an injury. Staff is just as friendly and goes out of their way to help in all ways possible.

This Dr. Is totally rude and refused to see me after all the arrangements I made to suit his needs,, he has a huge head and very large ego,,,and apparently he thinks if you don't treat him like GOD than he will refuse you as a patient,,,,my visit today was a huge waste of time , the Dr nor the staff even knew why I was scheduled to be there and when all was said and done the Dr walked out and refused to treat me because of what? Because I don't treat the guy like GOD??? Buddy , your not god

I waited until I was completely recovered to write this review. Overall, my rotator cuff surgery and recovery went better than expected. Dr. Lebolt prescribes a specific Physical Therapy "recipe" that my therapist and I followed strictly. At almost 8 months post-surgery I'd say I have 100% strength, 95% mobility, and less than 2% of the pain compared to pre-surgery. I have recommended Dr. Lebolt to several friends already.

Had a knee surgery done by Dr. Lebolt. I was very impressed with his knowledge and great bedside manners. I felt as if he truly had a passion for the profession he serves in. He takes his time with you and explains to you what is wrong in a way that is easy to understand and is happy to answer any questions you may have. Lebolt as well as his entire office seem to genuinely care about their patients well-being and success. I would strongly recommend him if you are in need of knee surgery. One of the best orthopedics I have encountered.

Overall good experience, excellent surgeon with excellent office staff. Pleased with outcome, hoping to avoid anymore injuries!

Loved having him as my Dr. I've had numerous surgeries and he was one of the best. Very concerned about getting me back to full strength as quickly and safely as possible. Great experience with him and his PA Brian. He did a great job of explaining my condition and used analogies that were easy for me to understand.

Dr. Labolt is great. I have had a very good experience with him and the staff. I will highly recommend him.

I would never recommend this doctor ever!

He is talented, experienced and his optomisim encourages healing. If one has had a lot of pain and trouble moving, he seems like a miracle worker. As a life long violinist , I had spent over 10 years looking for a solution. I only wanted to stop hurting. I no longer expected to be able to use my shoulder . It is now hard to remember my complete lack of mobility. I approach him with well established doubt. This time, I had found someone that understood and corrected my issue.

Dr. Lebolt is the best surgeon. He was down to earth and was very considerate. I felt like I could always ask questions and get an honest and trustworthy answer.

Dr. Lebolt was excellent in repairing our teenage son's ACL and meniscus. He was very engaged in our son's wellbeing and his team was great in comforting our son during surgery! I would highly recommend him!

Dr. Lebolt performed the surgery on my left shoulder in 2012. I had good results with the surgery and recovery. When I started having the same problems with my right shoulder, I asked to be referred back to Dr. Lebolt. He remembered me even though three years had passed. I ended up needing the same surgery on my right shoulder. I am currently recovering and attending physical therapy a couple times per week. It's been 6 weeks since surgery and my range of motion is steadily improving.
